Real Mom Talk: Christmas Crafts
December 23, 2022 12:35 pm | by

My kids and I decided to make homemade Christmas ornaments using salt dough this year. We haven’t done this before, and I really wanted to start doing things that I’ll be able to keep and look at years from now. Are you wondering how to make great salt dough? All you’ll need is flour, salt, water, a rolling pin, and cookie cutters. Then, if you want to paint your ornaments (we did!), then you’ll also need some paint and paintbrushes. We also made our ornaments scented, although after painting them, they weren’t scented anymore but it was fun while rolling

What are the differences between the Elemental 1, 2 & 3?
June 21, 2017 8:00 am | by

Last fall, Cotton Babies launched their new and improved Elemental All-In-One cloth diaper. As the third version of the Elemental created, it has the best of both designs from the previous two versions. All three of these diapers are one-size, fitting babies 8-35 lbs, and feature organic cotton inserts, so no stuffing needed. While these features did not change between the three versions, there are a few features that did. Here’s are the major differences between the three versions to help you compare, contrast and find the best diaper for your family.  Original Elemental (OBGE) The Original Elemental was first created in 2009

Mom Tips: Making Time for YOU
June 19, 2017 9:00 am | by

Self care is super important, but unfortunately many moms forget how important it is. We need to take some time for ourselves to recharge our batteries and take care of us. How are we supposed to take care of our little ones to our full potential if we’re only half-charged? Here are my a few tips to making time for you! Wake up a littler earlier. I know this is super hard – especially if you’re still waking up in the middle of the night with the baby. I’ll admit – I don’t wake up early very often because I

Building Your Cloth Diaper Stash
June 12, 2017 8:00 am | by

So if you’ve learned all the benefits of cloth diapering and are ready to get started, one of the first things you’ll do is to build up your cloth diaper stash. It doesn’t need to be overwhelming – I have some tips to make it easier! Buy BEFORE baby. The average stash consists of at least 24 diapers. If you can start buying one cloth diaper per week around the 15th week of your pregnancy, you’ll be ready to go once baby arrives! Buy diaper packages. This often saves you money, not just on individual diaper pricing, but also on

Why I Love Babywearing
November 30, 2016 7:25 am | by

Like cloth diapering, I felt that I had discovered the world of babywearing a later into my motherhood. My second child was already 13 months old, but I told myself, “Better late than never!” I’m now on baby #3 and have used carriers with him since he was two days old. I can confidently say – I love babywearing. Here are just a few of the reasons why: Transition from two to three kids. Babywearing helped me tremendously as we transitioned into a family of five. Once the third baby was born, I ran out of free hands! By putting baby in a carrier, my

New! bumGenius Elemental Review
November 18, 2016 12:00 pm | by

I’m going to make a little confession… When I first discovered bumGenius cloth diapers, I tried out every one of their diaper styles. This is how I fell in love with bumgenius Freetimes… However, I just could not find the love for the bumGenuis Elemental. At that point, the second version of the Elemental (with the exposed PUL) had launched and the original versions were a thing of the past. As much as I wanted to, I just could not get the hang of it, so I sold it to a friend and loaded my stash up with Freetimes and 4.0 pocket diapers. But then….

bumGenius Freetime Review
November 8, 2016 12:00 pm | by

Are you looking for a reliable, all-in-one cloth diaper that meets your needs but without the high-priced tag? The bumGenius Freetime is calling your name! When I started cloth diapering over three years ago, I started out with cheap pockets that just didn’t work for me. I knew I needed another option that was much more affordable and reliable. I was soon introduced to the bumGenius Freetime cloth diaper and I was immediately hooked… So much so, that I converted my entire stash! Why are these all-in-one cloth diapers so great? Great Fit The bumGenius Freetime is a one-size, all-in-one cloth diaper that fits babies from 8-35 lbs.

Why I Love Cloth Diapers
November 1, 2016 8:00 am | by

I love cloth diapers. I’m sort of a cloth diaper addict, if you will. I enjoy purchasing them. I enjoy having the cutest new prints and the classic colors that match my baby’s outfits. They’re not viewed as “poop catchers” to me. Sure, that is what they’re intended for and that is their primary function…. But I just see them as something more. My love for cloth diapers began shortly after discovering bumGenius cloth diapers. The colors were adorable and the prints were just beginning. I noticed them when Jules and Carroll had just come out and at the time –
