Flip Cover & Stay-Dry Inserts Review
February 3, 2017 8:00 am | by

I love to try different types of diapers… I love changing it up a bit depending on if we’re at home, at another person’s home, running errands, etc. Sometimes I prefer bumGenius Freetimes, and sometimes I prefer the Flip Cover + Inserts!

Flip is Cotton Babies’ hybrid diaper system. You can buy inserts for day time or night time, stay-dry or organic cotton, and newborn or one-size. The price point is perfect for anyone on a budget! Flips come in the variety of our favorite Cotton Babies colors and prints, so there’s plenty of options if you want to create that perfect rainbow. However, you realistically only need about 10 Flip covers to cloth diaper full time!

Flip Stay-Dry Inserts: Ultra-soft, Adjustable, Reliable.

My new favorite inserts are the Flip Stay-Dry Inserts. I used the newborn size when Jackson was itty bitty, but only recently started using the one-size inserts. The stay-dry side is nice and soft – exactly what you’d expect from the fabric going up against baby’s sensitive skin. The insert also features clearly-marked small and medium settings to guide where to fold it to help get the proper fit for your growing little one.

Jackson is currently on the medium rise of his Flip diapers so I fold down the insert just a tad. The marks on the insert make that super easy! The Flip Cover features two strips of fabric on the inside that help to hold the insert in place. The Flip Inserts slide right in!

Flip Covers can be reused through multiple diaper changes.

I also love that I can reuse the Flip Cover over multiple diaper changes (most of the time). We are able to use three inserts to one cover in an afternoon… and that even gets us through a nap time without leaks! For a heavy wetter, I would recommend just adding a newborn insert as a booster.

The Flip Diaper System is perfect for traveling!

I really like using Flips while I’m traveling. It makes my diaper bag a lot lighter and allows for more packing space. We all know packing space is important when it comes to traveling – especially when traveling with a baby. (So many things to bring!) For an overnight trip, I can easily just bring along 15 inserts with six or seven covers. Just imagine the space difference between this option compared to packing 15 pockets or all-in-ones… The diapers would need their own bag!

With the Flip system being so budget-friendly, I’ve found that it’s perfect to have on hand in case of emergencies too. I keep a couple inserts and covers in my car and at the bottom of my diaper bag… You never know if you’ll end up in a situation that you need an extra diaper!

All in all, the Flip Hybrid Diaper System has been the perfect on-the-go diapering solution for our family. Whenever we need a quick change and go, it’s always my go-to. With so many different insert options available, you’re sure to find the right solution for your family with Flip!

Have you tried the Flip system? What about the stay-dry inserts?
