Newborn cloth diapers

Our latest bundle of joy is bumGenius Littles 2.0 newborn cloth diapers! Let’s break down the differences between our original new cloth diapers, Littles, and new and improved Littles 2.0.

What’s changed with Littles 2.0 newborn cloth diapers?

A lot! Many parents are super excited to learn that Littles 2.0 are offered at a lower price than our original newborn cloth diapers. Check out our bundle prices, too!

Littles 1.0 & 2.0

Littles | Littles 2.0

We’ve upgraded from hook & loop closure to snaps. Snaps will hold up better over time (which is great for using on later babies or resale value) and won’t snag your other diapers. Plus, that means there is no longer a laundry tab in the back. Even though it was soft, parents often were hesitant to try Littles because they thought it may rub on baby’s back.

Littles 2.0 are lined with cotton. Of course, if you are a fan of stay-dry material wicking moisture away from baby, you can use the included doubler/booster that features a stay-dry side with cotton on the reverse. Use the booster to add absorbency, too.

Our newly designed front waistband dips below the navel. This is an important feature for newborns whose umbilical stumps are still attached.

It’s a whole new pattern, so it will fit a bit differently. They’re great for itty bitty babies, but should fit approximately 6-12 pounds.

What’s stayed the same?

As the saying goes, don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater! Littles 2.0 are still an all-in-one style diaper. This style keeps it simple for the parents of a newborn.

Littles 2.0 are available in many of the same colors. They include the same waterproof outer or PUL bumGenius is known for.

What do parents think?

This is our second baby, so we didn’t jump in to using cloth diapers right away. We had a lot going on with our toddler and adjusting to life as a family of 4. Our new baby had some redness and irritation from disposable diapers. We had some Littles newborn cloth diapers on hand, so we switched to them and all the irritation cleared up. We introduced newborn cloth diapers was when he was very new, and the Littles (original version) irritated the cord stump a bit. I was happy to switch to the Littles 2.0 because the dip for the cord stump is definitely an improvement.

We’re really impressed with how gentle the organic cotton feels. It’s exactly what’s needed for a newborn whose skin is so delicate and adjusting to life in the world. To be honest, we didn’t try the Littles 2.0 until he was close to outgrowing them. We didn’t end up using the doubler, but we really like the new fit. We plan to use the doubler in his one-size diapers.

Overall, I’d say the Littles 2.0 are an improvement. We would definitely recommend them to someone who wants to use cloth diapers from the very start.
