Real Mom Talk: Fall Activities
September 23, 2014 8:34 pm | by

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. Leaves falling off the trees, windows open, candles burning, pumpkin and apple everything, ohhhh yes! Fall is here! My family has a few traditions we do every year that makes us happy that summer has ended.

Apple Picking. We love to go apple picking at a local orchard. We take pictures, eat apples while picking them, and just enjoy being outside with our family. The week after, I make a bunch of homemade applesauce, apple pies, and other apple yummy treats.

Pumpkin Picking. We love picking pumpkins as well! We each get a pumpkin that is like our size in our family. This means my husband gets the biggest one, I get the second largest one, and each child gets one that’s smaller. A few days later, we carve our pumpkins and roast our pumpkin seeds! This year, I may look up what to do with the pumpkin pulp!

Trick-or-Treat! Like a lot of families, we participate in this fun, fall activity! My kids help pick out their costumes and we make it a super fun evening! We go to my grandparents’ house, eat some delicious beef stew, pumpkin pie and other sweets, and then walk around the neighborhood. At the end of the night, my husband and I check the candy and maybe eat a few! 😉

We also play outside a bunch at home, take bike rides around our local bike trail, and enjoy the outdoors before getting stuck inside all winter. On days that it’s too cold, I make hot chocolate and we start baking cookies or other warm goodies.

Pumpkin and Apple candles are constantly burning and coffee is always fresh. It’s the season of leggings and sweaters, scarfs and jeans. I’m looking forward to playing in the leaves and enjoy the beautiful fall weather.

What are some of your favorite fall activities you enjoy with your family?

So I just found this page due to being a fan on fb and seeing a contest. (Talk about double win if I get and Albert 4.0 to share with my mom who watches my son, we share a 12 count stash of BG.) I didn’t know this blog existed.
