Real Mom Talk: DIY Halloween Costume
October 24, 2015 9:11 pm | by

I love Halloween! Actually, I just love dressing up and being someone else for a day. Long before I had my daughter, I had a collection of future baby Halloween costume ideas. However, the DIY daddy costume wasn’t on that list, but this is something I’d strongly consider if you’re looking for something quick and easy! My baby would look EXACTLY like my husband, so of course, I had to take advantage of the opportunity because I don’t know how long this strong resemblance will last. I decided to take the most recognizable features of Lola’s dad and create a look that everyone would

Review: NoseFrida Snot Sucker
January 9, 2015 5:36 pm | by

The NoseFrida definitely falls under my top 10 must-have baby/toddler items. I invested in one when my little guy was about 4 months old and have been such a HUGE fan of it since. The regular bulb syringe that we were given in the hospital just wasn’t cutting it for us. I could never tell if it was really working. It seemed too big for my baby’s tiny nostrils, and I’m not going to lie.. I was totally freaked out by all of the mold rumors associated with this product. After making the switch to the NoseFrida, I’ve never looked back. It’e

Real Mom Talk: What I Didn’t Know About Pregnancy
September 2, 2014 4:37 pm | by

Due Date:  I thought there was no way I was ready to be a mom but when you hit the eighth month, you are so over being pregnant.  I just wanted my body back and to be able to move again.  I would often say during pregnancy, “I don’t care if I give birth to a dinosaur, just get this baby out!” So no matter how nervous or scared I felt to be a mom at 6 weeks, by 38 weeks I was ready for anything. Weight Gain:  I always thought I could eat whatever I wanted during pregnancy and it

June 4, 2013 9:01 am | by

Hi! I’m Jenny, and I had two natural births at the same birth center — in two years. I get a lot of questions about my experience at a birth center, so I thought I’d write down a few thoughts for any of you moms out there who might be considering a birth center for your next baby’s birth! The room in the birth center where both my babies were born What is a birth center? First of all, a birth center is not a hospital, although many birth centers in urban areas are located right next to a hospital
