It’s that time of year for clean slates, do-overs and second chances… The time to create goals for the new year (of which, we merely hope to stick to through the end of the year). These resolutions may consist of things you know you need or simply want to accomplish, but haven’t made the time to do so the year before. Whether your 2018 goals consist of stressing less, saving money or staying fit, we’ve got you covered. How? You may ask…  Here are a few resolutions cloth diapers can help you keep up with this

Countess of Lovelace

It’s Truly Genius Tuesday! Today we’re going to discover the true genius behind Lovelace. This colorful print joined our Genius Series in September 2011 along with Albert. The Countess of Lovelace is a pretty cool chick. She lived in the 1800’s, but is considered the world’s first computer programmer. Who is the Countess of Lovelace? Ada Lovelace was a mathematician who wrote the first algorithm for the first computer program in the mid-1800s. Her contributions to computer science were not discovered until the mid-1900s, but she has since received many posthumous honors for her work. In 1980, the U.S. Department of Defense named

What are the differences between the Elemental 1, 2 & 3?
June 21, 2017 8:00 am | by

Last fall, Cotton Babies launched their new and improved Elemental All-In-One cloth diaper. As the third version of the Elemental created, it has the best of both designs from the previous two versions. All three of these diapers are one-size, fitting babies 8-35 lbs, and feature organic cotton inserts, so no stuffing needed. While these features did not change between the three versions, there are a few features that did. Here’s are the major differences between the three versions to help you compare, contrast and find the best diaper for your family.  Original Elemental (OBGE) The Original Elemental was first created in 2009

Building Your Cloth Diaper Stash
June 12, 2017 8:00 am | by

So if you’ve learned all the benefits of cloth diapering and are ready to get started, one of the first things you’ll do is to build up your cloth diaper stash. It doesn’t need to be overwhelming – I have some tips to make it easier! Buy BEFORE baby. The average stash consists of at least 24 diapers. If you can start buying one cloth diaper per week around the 15th week of your pregnancy, you’ll be ready to go once baby arrives! Buy diaper packages. This often saves you money, not just on individual diaper pricing, but also on

An Outside-the-Box Thinker
April 11, 2017 12:13 pm | by

Alicia Boole Stott, better known as “The Princess of Polytopia,” was a Irish-English mathematician who not only introduced the meaning of the word “polytope,” but was also one of the first to explore the fourth dimension. Alicia was an outside-the-box thinker who saw beauty from all angles. Math Ran in the Family It seems that this “mathematic-genius aptitude” ran in her blood. Her father, George Boole, was a mathematician, educator, philosopher, and logician. He even has a form of algebra named after him, Boolean algebra, which has played a major part in the development of digital electronics and programming languages.

The “Never Were” bumGenius Diapers
February 14, 2017 5:50 pm | by

The story of the Never Were bumGenius diapers A few months ago, we were looking through some drawers and realized that we had some sample fabric of print proposals sitting in our drawers. For one reason or another, we had decided that these prints were not going to be made into production diapers. You could say we had a drawer-full of bumGenius print fabric that “never were.” Knowing that someone would love these prints, we asked our product designer to make some bumGenius Original Pocket Diapers using this fabric. With only a little bit of fabric to work with, we were only able to create

February 14, 2017 12:18 pm | by

This sweet print joined our Genius Series with Irwin in March of 2013. What’s in a name? that which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet; ~ William Shakespeare, Romeo & Juliet (1) In addition to her wonderful accomplishments, this genius is known for being a bit of a tongue twister around Cotton Babies. She sells sea shells by the sea shore… well no… our Genius didn’t sell sea shells
