If you are an expectant parent living near one of our Cotton Babies retail stores, mark your calendar to join us for our Mama To Be Tea Saturday, June 2, 2012. Disconnecting from Technology
June 29, 2011 5:30 am | by

Unfortunately, today is not so much of an advice blog, but rather a confession and seeking advice from you. I have a confession to make, I LOVE technology. Big surprise, right? I am, after all, the social media coordinator. I’ve spent years of my life online in some capacity. I’ve always had a bit of an issue taking the time to disconnect from the online world and focus on the real world. These tendencies are only amplified by each new digital device that fits in the palm of my hand. The truth is, it’s not just the internet that is

My Econobum Challenge
December 15, 2010 6:00 am | by

Throughout my cloth diapering career our family has experienced circumstances and phases that have dictated our ability to use (or not to use) cloth diapers. There have been seasons of all cloth all the time, seasons of disposable dependence, and seasons of both (cloth at home and disposables on the go). I read Jenn’s recent post about families struggling to buy disposable diapers and sometimes choosing between buying diapers and food. Providing Econobum to needy families is really exciting. It got me thinking. I know that using cloth diapers saves money. I know that an Econobum Full Kit costs less

Can I Cry Now?

This week has been a roller coaster of emotion. Sunday, I enjoyed my first Cotton Babies holiday party, celebrating an amazing year of hard work with my new co-workers. It was amazing to be a part of this tremendous company and to see all the hard work invested before I joined the team. At the same time I was celebrating with my co-workers, my husband was in the air, on a flight bound for out of state training. After our party, I rushed to assist a holiday stage production for a few hours before returning home to put my children

Work Life Balance
September 28, 2010 11:50 am | by

Balance. Now there’s a loaded word. Over the past year (who am I kidding it’s been well over 10 years) I’ve been searching for the definition and/or execution of “balance.” Don’t hold your breath, I don’t have many answers. What I have discovered is that for me, balance is a living breathing organism that is in constant motion and change. Kind of like a child. Just when I think I’ve figured out how to keep some kind of balance in my life, something happens- someone develops a severe food allergy, the car breaks down, unexpected visitors show up at the

Four Little Words
September 14, 2010 4:04 pm | by

Last week, Jenn asked our Facebook fans what topics they would like to see covered in our new “Real Mom Talk” blog posts. Many of you responded that working mom issues were important to you.   I can identify. I’m right in the middle of transitioning from stay at home to working mom. I spent the last 7 years of my life at home with my children.   I’ve known for a while my time at home would be coming to an end, I just didn’t know exactly when. In between updating my resume, picking out interview outfits and adjusting
