Why We Love What We Do

Cotton Babies babies

In honor of Valentine’s Day, we thought it would be fun to talk about what our employees love about Cotton Babies. Cotton Babies isn’t just a store and we don’t simply make cloth diapers. We’re changing things.

Preserving the World for the Future

Most of our employees are parents. As parents, many of us are concerned about the planet our children and grandchildren will inherit. We’re certainly not perfect, but it’s nice to know that for every baby that uses cloth diapers, 1 ton of garbage is kept out of a landfill. And we get to be a part of that. It’s empowering to step back and realize what kind of impact that will have on the world.

Helping Others

We’re saving families money. Yes, we are a business and we want to be profitable, but our products allow parents to take control of their situation. With Elemental Joy, a family can cloth diaper a baby for as little as $115. Instead of spending thousands of dollars on disposable diapers until their child is potty trained, that family is free to use the money they saved to buy healthy food, pay utility bills and more. We love hearing about how cloth diapers have improved lives.

We also operate Share the Love, a national cloth diaper bank that works toward the goal of eliminating diaper need and poverty in our local communities by providing free cloth diapers to families in need. When families need help and receive disposable diapers from diaper banks, it only helps temporarily. Soon, they run out of diapers and feel the stress of wondering how and where they will get more diapers. They keep diapers on baby for longer than they should and even reuse disposables which can lead to diaper rash and illness. With cloth diapers, all they have to do is wash the diapers.

Friends of Cotton Babies

YOU! Yes, you! We love interacting with our customers. Whether it’s in store, via email, on the phone, or in the Mob, we value these interactions. For a lot of us, we’ve made real, meaningful friendships. We love getting to know you and your babies. It’s so much fun to see babies all over the world wearing our diapers!
