A new bumGenius tester is born…
March 3, 2009 2:24 pm | by

Elsie Lillian Labit was born on February 13th at 7:18am, weighing 8 pounds even. She is healthy, beautiful and such a happy little girl. Please forgive my lack of initial updates. I’d planned to blog through the first bit of her life, but it hasn’t happened between recovering from having a baby and just adjusting to life with a newborn at home.
Elsie has been in cloth diapers alternating with disposables as needed. I have about 16 newborn diaper changes and we’re doing a load of diapers nearly every day right now. We can use the bumGenius One-Size diapers now (she is 7lb 7oz), but our favorites for this phase of life have been the bumGenius XS All-In-Ones. They just fit her tiny little bum perfectly. I’ve also really enjoyed a Hemp Babies Little Weed trifolded in a newborn Bummis cover. Indian prefolds with a Snappi and newborn Dappi Nylon Pants have also gone quite well. I have a few diapers left to try yet… Right now, she is wearing a bumGenius Extra Small All-In-One (Clementine). My favorite, favorite color is the Ribbit though. It is so silly cute on her little bum. The Cotton Babies staff has been teasing me mercilessly about having some pink diapers. So, we have one. She has one Zinnia bumGenius diaper and, yes, it is cute on her bum. =-)

So that is the newborn diaper update. I’d love to include photos with this post, but she hates diaper changes so I haven’t had much luck getting good photos of her wearing the different diapers. As soon as she realizes that a dry bum is better than a wet bum… we should be able to start snapping some cute newborn baby photos.

I’ve had a unique opportunity to freely test a bunch of products that Cotton Babies carries for postpartum care and breastfeeding. I’m working on another post now with my review of those products and which ones were my favorites.

Congratulations! What a pretty baby… I am due in July with #3 and want so bad to cloth diaper her. I am hoping to use Indian prefolds with a snappi and a cover. I was glad to see you said that had been working well for you. Wondering about night time though. I suppose you just change enough in the night that it doesn’t matter. Anxious to try but nervous it will be too much in the newborn stage esp with two other littles to care for. We’ll see. Good luck and enjoy your beautiful girl.

Congratulations, Jenn! She looks so sweet. It is amazing how fast they grow. My little Eva is already in medium diapers and has two brand new teeth – how can she be almost 6 months old already when it seems you were just announcing your pregnancy and I was almost done with mine!

We just got our tester AIO in the mail (midnight to match Eva’s eyes). I love the pocket opening. Great job!

Congrats on your little one! My 2 yongestest (still in dipes) are wearing/sharing my BG 3.0 onesize stash and so far so good. My little one (4 months now) is still on the small setting and my older one (2 yrs) is on the largest setting, and starting to potty trian (yeah!). Too cute!!

CONGRATULATIONS! She is soooo beautiful! I love her name also. Like everyone else here, Ribbit is the fave color in our house. And also thanks for your advice about the styles working best for your newborn. We’re hoping for another one very soon and I’ll be remembering your tips! 🙂

Oh she’s beautiful and I love her name. My Grandmother’s name was Lillian. I always wanted to use that name but so far I have two boys. Ribbit is my favorite color too 🙂
