Splashing in the puddles with the kids! Rain here is usually pretty quick to hit and move on, so we don’t often have whole rainy days.
Reading and sleeping in are my favorite rainy day activities.
My favorite rainy day activity is sleeping!! Or it was before baby…
My favorite rainy day activity is playing board games with my kiddos.
My 5 month old likes to watch the rain from inside the car, or we would bundle up and take a walk with him in the ERGO and an umbrella.
We love drawing rainbows with washable markers then putting our papers out in the sprinkles for a minute or so. The rain makes the colors run for a pretty watercolor look! When the rain is through we love searching under rocks for worms.

Playing in the rain is always fun, when it’s not freezing cold of course. We also enjoy popping in a DVD of Blue’s Clues and singing along.

My favorite rainy day activity is to curl up and escape into a book. It’s been ages since I’ve had that sort of leisure though!
Rainy days = great family naps! Its so pleasurable to curl up on the couch with a sweet little one and fall asleep together watching a movie or listening to the rain outside.
I am looking forward to toddler days, too, and going out for puddle jumping and worm hunting!

For my big kids, it’s playing the Wii. My little ones enjoy puddle jumping and MY favorite thing is snuggling up with a good book and taking a nap….mine doesn’t usually happen but I dream of a day when it will!
In the summer when the temperature is warm, it’s a blast to play outside in the rain. It’s spontaneous and gets everyone laughing at the seeming craziness of it!

We love to build blanket forts and take our pirate ship (read old couch) on a journey through dangerous seas full of damsels (stuffed animals) in distress and buildings (block towers) to be demolished by cannonballs (soft blocks).
Rainy days are pajama days! The sound of the rain relaxes me, while my boys have fun playing with their trains and coloring!
We do many different things on rainy days…everything from baking to arts/crafts to making a tent in our living room and “camping out.” We read many books and occasionally will watch my kids favorite movie: Finding Nemo.

We are fortunate enough to have a large, covered front porch. My darling little muffin is 14 months old and recently discovered the joys of nature…when it’s raining, we love to snuggle together in a big cozy blanket and sit on the porch singing songs to the music of the rain.

We have a LOT of rainy days here in Portland, OR so we have to live life as normal when the skies are gray. We go for walks, go to the park, take hikes, or stay inside and play with trains, cars, read books and run reall fast back and forth accross the house.
Depends on the temperature. If it’s warm, then puddle-splashing and running around in the backyard, getting wet. If it’s cold, then it’s a good day for naps and drawing with markers.
Our favorite rainy day activity would have to be cuddling up in bed, nursing the 15 mo old and watching a movie.

Rain? What is that? We only tend to get snow around here, so the occasional rain or thunderstorm is always interesting to watch. We like to view from our porch. I wish we could experience the sights, sounds and smells of a good rain more often!

One of our favorite rainy day activities is finger painting with Reddi Whip. Lil man is not a year old yet, so everything ends up in the mouth. I don’t have to worry about paint in the mouth, plus a bath after is fun. Have a great day!

Today in NW Iowa I’d have to switch it to our favourite SNOWY day activity! 🙂 But favourite stuck-inside activities: reading, snuggling on the couch, baking together, doing crafts, and occasionally watching a movie. Of those listed, reading is my kids’ favourite! We can sit and read together for an hour!
My son is 4months so he loves to do anything. I love the rain but now with a child prefer sunny days to be able to take him to the park or for a walk outside. But on rainy days, I bring out his toys in the living room and all day we play and of course during his naps we cuddle together!
