bumGenius Pail Liner Review
February 14, 2016 4:00 pm | by

bumgenius pail linerAfter cloth diapering my daughter for over a year and now my 3-month-old son, I’m still learning new things! This month, I decided to change the way we store our dirty cloth diapers and try something new in between washes. Now, I will say I liked the way we were previously storing our dirty cloth diapers. However, I really like our new set up and I’m glad I switched to the bumGenius Pail Liner.

My daughter was already on solids when we started using cloth diapers. So as a result, it made sense to keep our dirty diapers in the bathroom, where we would spray them off with our diaper sprayer. Since our bathroom is small, we just used a hanging wet bag on the door. But now, our son is only 3 months old and exclusively breastfed, so there’s no need to spray off his diapers (you can learn more about that here). This completely eliminates the need to have some kind of dirty diaper setup in our bathroom. Now, I just keep a swing top trash can with a bumGenius pail liner inside in his nursery. We haven’t had any issue with extra stink either.

The bumGenius pail liner is made with PUL fabric, which is waterproof and durable — just like bumGenius Cloth Diapers! I haven’t had any leaking issues, thanks to the waterproof fabric. You’ve gotta think: the PUL has to be pretty good quality in order to keep waste contained in the liner. I would prefer not to take the liner out and carry it to the laundry room and find something leaking out the seam and onto my floor. I would hate to clean up more of a mess than necessary. And so far, no extra clean up required!

Like I mentioned earlier, I use my liner with a swing top trash can, but it also fits most diaper pails since it’s sized 26″x30″.

My favorite feature of the pail liner is the elastic around the top. This keeps it in place as more diapers get thrown inside. We go through a lot of diapers between laundry days and it really seems to hold the weight of the diapers well. I have not had to adjust the liner after securing it to my pail. Could you imagine having to reach your hand in there to retrieve the top of your liner? No thanks!

A few other things I really like about this liner is that it’s really easy to wash and comes in all the same colors as my diapers.

I highly recommend the bumGenius pail liner for cloth diapering families. I plan on purchasing another because just like cloth diapers, I have to have every color, ha!
