Cloth diapers are an effective way to care for your baby while saving money and reducing your carbon footprint. And now that you’ve decided to use cloth diapers, you will have to actually wash them. It’s not as scary as people make it out to be — trust us!
When it comes to washing cloth diapers, choose a detergent that is safe for your baby, but also effectively gets rid of the mess and works well for your family’s priorities. Many detergents will work when washing diapers.
Laundry detergents that work well for a baby’s clothing may also be suitable for cloth diapers. Some detergents contain ingredients such as perfumes, dyes, optical brighteners, and fabric softeners. In our experience, fabric softeners and perfumes might be problematic for children with skin sensitivities or other health issues. If your child seems to have a reaction to the detergent you’re using, we always recommend seeking the advice of your child’s pediatrician. In some cases, it may be necessary to consider an alternate detergent choice.
Cotton Babies promotes using detergents that clean your diapers well and work well for your whole family. If you need assistance with this, please give us a call at 1-314-892-1855. We’d love to help!
