Back by popular demand – Cotton Babies Daily Snap! Last month we launched the Cotton Babies Daily Snap photo challenge. Each day, we provide a word to inspire you to take more photos of everyday life. We had so much fun and enjoyed all the great photos last month, we decided to do it again!
Great! So how do I play along?
First, start with our list:
Today is June 1, so the word of the day is “swim”. I took a photo with Instagram last weekend at the pool, so I’m going to use it for today’s photo. Your photo doesn’t have to be literal like this example, it can be whatever you interpretation you have of the word of the day. We’ve seen some wild and creative spins on our words, so it’s all up to you. The idea is simple, to help you find and appreciate the beauty in every day life.
Next, share your photo and add our hashtag#CBsnap. I personally love Instagram for this project. It can pair with Facebook,Twitter, Flickr and many other social media sites to distribute your photo. You can use your blog, Pinterest or whatever site you prefer. The hashtag just makes it easier to find others who are playing, so you can comment and maybe even make some new friends along the way. One easy way to see others’ photos is using the search feature on Twitter and search for #CBsnap. If your app allows you to tag or mention, be sure to tag Cotton Babies or @CottonBabies so we can enjoy your photos too!
What if I miss a day? No worries! This is simply for inspiration. We’re moms too and we know life gets busy. If you really loved the word and had a great idea for a photo, take it whenever you can and catch up. If a particular day doesn’t inspire you, don’t worry about it. I like to take a screenshot of the list with my phone and make it the image on my lock screen so I can be thinking about the upcoming words and what photos I could take for them.
Finally, if someone asks you what the photo or hashtag is all about, share this post with them! We love meeting new people and sharing ideas. The more people who play, the more fun it gets! Share this blog post with friends, family or complete strangers. While many of our words are inspired by parenting and family, this is open to anyone who wants to play along. Really, all you need is the list, a camera and a bit of creativity.
