Cotton Babies Econobum Giveaway
May 24, 2011 12:15 am | by

This week, we are back to the basics. From our neighbors in Joplin, MO cleaning up after Sunday night’s storm to our cloth diapering community acquiring new skills with a Flats Challenge this week, we know there are times in life that just require a simple, tried and true method of cloth diapering.

We appreciate the simplicity and accessibility of Econobum cloth diapers. They are designed to be affordable for any family. The inserts are made of cotton, an absorbent, natural fiber. The one-size diaper cover means they can serve a family with children of multiple ages and sizes with just a few simple snaps. Put simply, they get the job done.
Today’s prize winners will each receive a prize pack that includes two Econobum covers and prefolds, a Cotton Babies Cold Cup, and because it’s still May and we are still celebrating mothers – a You’re One Good Mum t-shirt.

To enter today’s blog giveaway for your chance to win one of our prize packs, leave a comment on this blog post and let us know if you’ve tried an Econobum or other cover and prefold style cloth diaper. What do you love about Econobum? How do you use them? What about Econobum surprised you the most?

Eligible entries must be posted today, Tuesday, May 24, 2011. U.S. Residents only. Void where prohibited by law. No purchase necessary to win. Winners will be drawn at random on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 and notified via e-mail. (Please make sure Cotton Babies staff can see your e-mail in your comment or through your Blogger profile page.)

I use the flip diaper covers and inserts. I LOVE them! I reuse the covers unless they get dirty, and this way I am not constantly doing laundry. I have a few econobum covers, but they are a little harder to use without the pocket inside them. The insert seems to fall out of the cover sometimes, but they are great for the price. I love using the flip cloth diapers, and I would recommend them to anyone who wants to use cloth diapers. The different colors are cute, too! When it’s hot,, I let my son hang out in his flip diaper- they are so cute! WAY cuter than a disposable (and cheaper, too)!

No, I have never tried an Econobum or other cover, but I would love to WIN them so that I could try them out. I have a friend who uses Econobum and she absolutely loves them. Right now, I use BG 4.0, and they are awesome at keeping poo in. I am very glad for that. I would love to WIN Econobums! Great diapers!

I love econobums and have 4 sets plus 2 put away for baby #3. I actually made an econobum diaper cake for my friend’s baby shower a few months ago. They are cheap, well made, absorbent, and one size, what more do you need?! Econobums are what I recommend to friends that are wanting to try cloth without spending a lot.

I have tried econobums. I bought them when I was first trying cloth diapering. I bought a single cover with 3 inserts. (an awesome trial package I must say) and an awesome product(I wish I bought more). The inserts are the most absorbent inserts out of all the prefolds I have they and when I use prefolds they are the ones I reach for 1st. These are my overnight solution diaper. I am on a tight budget and moved to cloth as a way to diaper two more affordably(when my then 2 1/2 yr old refused potty training. And these do the job great. The other reason I specificaly picked these was so my older daughter could feel that she was wet. So she could get ready for potty training. She was ready for potty training one month later. they work on my almost three year old for over night and my now one year old. When times get tough (be it money or whatever) going back to basics is the way to go. By using cloth. My small stash has already paid for itself in use over the last 5 months. Thanks for creating econobums it is great to have a less expensive option on the market. If you need/want a whole stash fast and don’t have a ton of cash and need multiple sizes Econobums are the way to go. they don’t have all the frills of the $$$diapers but they work and hold up through tons of washes and that is what is most important.(i read some not nice review about the cover but I have to say my experience is the cover is great strong and soft and still looks brand new even with every other day washing for 5 months). I hope to have one more child in a few years and will cloth diaper the next from the gate. I just wish I could open a cotton babies cloth diaper store close to me.

I LOVE our Econobums. We really would never have been able to afford to cloth diaper full-time without this great option! I love that they’re so absorbent, and that we’ve never had a leak. When we recently received a gracious gift of a large sum of money, I was able to buy some Econobums for a friend as a gift. So glad to ‘pay it forward!’

I have one econobum cover. And I use prefolds most of the time otherwise. I was surprised and excited how durable the econobum cover has been. I really didn’t expect it to be as tough as it is! (Otherwise I would have just bought the whole econobum system!).

I bought my econobums during a buy one get one sale and I love them because you can use them so many ways. I use them over indian prefolds, over kissaluvs and I’ve even used them over my older pocket diapers that don’t have good elastic in the legs! I was at my sisters tonight and showed them to her during a diaper change. She was excited to see them at work and decided to get some for her #1 baby due in Nov. Thanks Cotten Babies for the great diapers you make. Seriously! sulmanangela@gmail.com

My Econobum cover’s are my FAVORITE cover with prefolds, which really surprised me because of the price! I am currently using my Econobum covers for the flats challenge and LOVE them! I wish I would have know how cheap and easy these diapers were when I was choosing which ones to buy. I definitely recommend these to the low income mama’s in my cloth diaper education classes!

Thank you so much Cotton Babies for making a cloth diaper for everyone! I LOVE them all: BumGenius, Flip, and Econobum!

I bought a set of Econobums to have as a back-up in case of emergency. To make sure I felt comfortable with them (we previously used only all-in-one or pocket diapers), I practiced using them a for a couple days. I have to admit that it was easier than I thought it would be. I just bought a Snappi to see if that would also help.

I never thought I would be a prefolds girl. I enjoyed spending $30 on each on fitteds. I even turned my sister onto cloth with my bg 4.0s. I haven’t tried econobums yet, but as they say you live and learn. Prefolds are most absorbent and easiest to clean.

People think I’m weird because I’m a young single mother that loves prefolds and covers. While I enjoy AIOs and pockets, at home, I almost exclusively use prefolds and covers. They’re so easy and simple. Econobums are actually my favorite! It’s weird because I have many covers, with cool prints and fancy systems, but I always go on about how heavy duty Econobums are compared to my other covers!

I’m newer to cloth diapering, and I’ve been trying the bum Genius one-size to sell my husband on how easy cloth can be. A friend just gave me a few diaper covers and prefolds (not Econobum, unfortunately), and I’ve been surprised at how easy and wonderful they are. If things continue to go so well, I think I will be investing in a few more Econobums.

I’ve got one econobum, but used bummis covers/prefolds for a few months between using a diaper service (covers/prefolds!) and our current rotation of pockets/aios. I liked them but wanted to try something different when we grew out of the bummis set! Right now I seem to use the cover most when we’re out traveling with disposables on. What blowouts? 😉

Other than 2 bumgenius 4.0 for the diaper bag, my whole stash is prefolds and covers. I started using cloth to save money and for awhile only had 1 dozen prefolds for each kid. Now I have 3 Econobums covers and 3 dozen Econobums prefolds, all purchased as seconds. We were able to get a much larger stash than we would have had otherwise, which means I have been able to keep both my kids in cloth full time without going over on my budget, and I still only have to wash every other day. The covers aren’t my favorite but they are great for the price…and the prefolds I think are the best ones I’ve tried! Love them (and would love to have a few more)!:)

I have 3 Econobum covers (one white, one blue and one green trimmed)! I use them with prefolds, over fitteds and LOVE them!!! What I love the most is how simple they are and that they work great at a great price. Definitely doable for any budget. My son went through a heavy wetting period (between 7 and 11 months old) when only used econobum covers with prefolds at night. He leaked through EVERYTHING else, even wool! I’ve currently lent my econobums out to a friend who wants to try out cloth. Hopefully she’ll love them as much as I do. I should have bought a bunch more when they were $5 each to have on hand for interested cloth converts. To sum it up – Econobum is Cloth Diapering Simplified! Low price and Fantastic results.

I love my Econobum! I have 2 in diapers and started using cloth after the youngest was born. What I love is one size fits all. I never have to worry if I have enough of the right size diaper with me or at home. I also like how I can mix and match with the Flip system. (I use Flip covers at night to help protect against the tummy leaks from tight fitting PJs; and I keep mostly Flip stay-dry inserts in the diaper bag because they take up less space.) I guess what has surprised me most is how much I love cloth diapering (and how easy it is!) I started with only Econobums and have added some Flip to address specific issues (bedtime tummy leaks and diaper bulk for my newborn and diaper bag.)

I received my econobum (moonbeam trim- 3 prefolds) on Friday and have only been able to try the cover so far- our washer decided to start flooding our basement before I could prep the prefolds 🙁 I have used the cover twice over fitteds on my three year old and am very happy so far. He only wears diapers at night and when we go out- spoosies for school 🙁 and underwear on the weekends. He had peed a hefty amount the one night but nothing leaked. I can’t wait to try the prefolds and to give them a try on baby #2 due in September!

We have several different covers and have been pretty happy with anything that goes with our prefolds. Diaper covers have been great for usual prefold but are great over our pockets too when we need the extra insurance.
We have not tried the econobums yet. They are next on my list. Especially after all the wonderful things I’ve heard about them even besides the price! It would be great to get some before our next little one arrives in July.

I haven’t tried econobum yet, but would love to. I use flips and bg 4.0. The only thing I didn’t like about the flips was that with the stay dry insert every EBF poo from my 2 month old would get on the cover. I tried a snappi with prefold, but still had leakage until Tina suggested the “jellyroll” fold. It worked like a charm. Check it out on youtube. I only have some old prefolds that I used with my 18 yr old, so it would be nice to try some newer prefolds. Thanks!!!

I bought an Econobum set when it was first introduced (Novemberish ’09), but used them hardly at all for about a year. Then, when the Econobum Challenge was issued last Christmas season, I was all over it…and fell in love! Did my own personal Econobum Challenge again this spring by giving up all other diapers for Lent! Not only was it great just to use this simple system, but it gave all my pockets and AIOs a 40-day rest. One thing I love about Econobum is that I feel like it’s more absorbent than Flip stay-dry. If I need a few hours out of a diaper, I’d choose Econobum first cause I can trust that thirsty prefold (my second choice for this job would be Flip organic)! I also use Econobum prefolds stuffed into bG pockets as overnight diapers for my 18-month old and in overnight trainers (Happy Heiny) for my older bedwetters – although I also include a bG newborn insert for the older kids. One thing that surprised me most about Econobum is that it’s not as bulky as I thought it would be – this is the reason I didn’t use them much at first. But the bottom line (no pun intended) is – Econobum is the best value for the money there is!

I love econobums! We bought them and our bum genius 4.0 before our daughter was born. We knew we would love the bum genius (many friends had used them) but we were skeptical about the econobums but figured for the inexpensive price we would try them. I have to say we were very surprised! They hold in everything very well, relatively easy to use and are very easy to clean. Our daughter doesn’t seem to notice a difference between them and the bum genius. The only thing i would not use them for is over night, especially if your child is a heavy wetter and/or sleeps 10-12 hours. Other than that they are a great product!

Right now I am doing the flats challenge, and 3 of my 5 covers are econobums. At night I do have to use a flip cover- at about 18 months the fitted night time tops and bottoms end up wicking at the waist- but I am still using the prefolds inside. I love how simple they are and they never get stinkies or stains! The biggest surprise is that they are my husbands favorite diaper, and he pretty much uses them exclusively. Brownch6athotmaildotcom

I have purchased a few of the Econobum kits to give as baby gifts to others, but I was too chicken to try them myself. 🙂 I am hoping I get some as gifts when this baby arrives in July, but so far I’ve been a BG mama because of fear of the unknown. I think it’s high time I overcome that fear and give them a go. So many people rave about them and love them, and I’m sure I will, too, if I try them. yay finally able to leave a comment 🙂 I haven’t tried Econobum, but have wanted to!! I have a few bummis super whisper wraps which I’ve liked, used mostly over fitted diapers. I’d love to get better at prefolds since they’re so economical!

I love our econobums. We started out buying a couple covers and a package of inserts. I just ordered more and I am up to 7 covers, about 3 dozen inserts. I have both my 2 year old, and 6 month old in the diapers. I know I will continue adding more to my stash, and hopefully trying new diapers as well I just bought my first pocket diaper to try. 🙂

I bought econobums for friends to use! I know that its a bit pushy to give them as baby gifts (if unasked for) but I think they can have great use as burping cloths and swim diapers and might at least change some of the stereotype of cloth diapers if a parent has one in their hands!

I use econobum covers and prefolds. I have used the prefolds trifolded in the cover and as a insert in fitteds I made. I use the covers over the econobum prefolds, other prefolds(pinned or snappied), flats & fitteds. I love how affordable econobum is. I was surprised at how absorbent the prefolds are and how the covers seem to fit over anything. Thank you. ddumplin at gmail dot com

I love Econobum! I have cloth diapered my baby girl from birth in Econobum! I have won a diaper or two in giveaways, and I have been given a couple from friends as well. I love them, but I can always rely on my Econobums no matter what! I use my Econobum prefolds in a bikini fold with the Econobum covers. They are a little bulkier than some, but more absorbant than most. I was given a Thirsties cover by a friend and I find the Econobum to be of the same quality. Econobum covers wash super well too…I have never had a problem with Econobum. They should make me a spokeswoman for them….haha!

I use my Econobum covers more than any other covers. They are as efficient as the Flips (which I love for the bold colors), but more affordable-I am so glad they come in trimmed colors now! I put them over Econobum prefolds, mostly. I don’t own any other kinds of prefolds! I sold everything else off to get more Econobums because the product cannot be beat for the price, in my opinion. My son has been in the Econobums for a year, and they are holding up so great. I love that I do not have to buy any new sizes as he grows! The biggest surprise to me, honestly, is what an amazing product you get for the price. I buy Econobum kits as shower gifts for any mom interested in cloth diapering.

I didn’t try the econobum prefold until just recently but it’s really great too. I can’t wait to see how they will work on our newborn. For the price you can’t beat the econobum.

Once little bit is born, we plan on using a combo of EB, Flips and Thirsties with prefolds. I have a trial pack on my wishlist, and will most likely buy it tomorrow. I don’t get showers when on baby #4! 😉
I like that the EB is one size fits all, and that the prefold is thicker than a traditional prefold. Thanks for the giveaway!

I love that I can pin the diapers on and let my little one go coverless, that they rinse to easily, that I don’t worry about using the occasional cream with them, that they sun bleach so nicely.

There are multiple ways of folding the cloth insert to fit my daughter better as she grows. The one size fits all is amazing because I won’t have to buy more covers as she grows. My reasoning for switching to CD was so that I don’t have to buy diapers every month. They are super easy to clean and make my life so much easier. Well until I forget that Im running low then a little panic starts in! =) I would enjoy winning some more. I only have 7 covers and 22 inserts. Thank you for making CD-ing so affordable and simple to use.

When we made the switch to cloth, Econobum is what we 1st went with. I ordered 2 day packs (6 covers-24 prefolds). There was some trial and error, but after the 1st week of getting the hang of things, we fell in love! I have tried Flips, & Mother Ease, and do not care for either! With my prefolds, i do not have to add wool soakers or extra inserts morning, noon, or night! No leaks and their covers are amazingly easy to use! We now have 17 EB covers and 48 prefolds! We use them for a 1yr old full time, my 2 boys at night, and plan to use them for the new baby on her way in 3weeks! 🙂 white.as.snow521@gmail.com

LOVE, LOVE Econobum. I have been using BG 4.0’s since last summer when I was just starting out in cd’ing with my 2 little ones. My husband was activated with the Navy this year for the next two years, and because of the difference in his pay from his “regular” job to being active duty I have had to sell most of our pockets 🙁 I am replacing them with less expensive options (prefolds/covers), diapers given to me or ones I find second hand. I have had issues with my son’s nighttime diapers (leaking and ammonia). The other day I tried a Diaper Rite prefold and an Econobum cover I picked up at a garage sale. WOW, I was so impressed! FIrst, I love that the cover is slightly stretchy, absolutely holds everything in (I was slightly concerned since it doesn’t have flaps on the inside, but no worries now), and we didn’t have any rash or smells on my baby! It is definitely going to be my go to nighttime diaper. Hopefully, I can accumulate some more.

I love using prefolds because I’m not tempted to leave my babies in wet diapers to “get my money’s worth.” We use BumGenius at night, but during the day, I want to keep them clean and dry as much as possible. The affordability of prefolds and covers like Econobums make it affordable for me to have many diaper changes between loads of laundry. I also like how easy it is to lay them flat in a drawer without any folding or arranging. Makes me smile to see my neat, tidy diaper drawer. aggierudy3@gmail.com

It’s an awesome inexpensive option for those who are intimidated by the cost of starting up with cloth diapers- and it’s ONE SIZE! I particularly like using the econobum to go over my fitted diapers that have cute patterns because you can see the cute pattern underneath 🙂 We’re pretty good on diapers so I would probably pass this diaper on to someone who is considering cloth diapering and wants to try it out.

I found out about econobum on my WTE group. I can’t wait to try them out, from everything I have read before buying them they seem like they will hold up pretty well and I like the whole $100 investment and then no worries! I was hesitant to use cloth with my son, who has Short Gut Syndrome, because I wasn’t confident that cloth could contain some of those explosions. I was wrong! Cloth is WAY more absorbent and snug enough in the right places to keep messes in. We use organic cotton prefolds and Thirsties or LiteWrap covers when we’re home and BG pocket dipes on the road because they’re trimmer. I even use some old school Whisper pants and prefolds with pins. Love them! Nothing as cute as a cloth bum!

I started cloth diapering with easy bumGenius 2.0s, and I was scared of prefolds. But I tried Econobums because I trusted the CottonBabies cover, and I LOVE them. Folding the long way or the short way for my big girl or my small girl made diapering so simple! And we love the snaps! I recommend Econobum to all the mommies I talk to about cloth diapering.

I’ll just preface this with the fact my child is not born yet, but she is due any day now. Now, knowing that, my husband and I went a little nuts when it comes to cloth diapering. I have many friends who cloth diaper and after much research concluded that the econobums were the ‘everyday’ diaper for us. I don’t need any more, but would like to let everyone who reads this know that I have complete confidence in them. So much so that we bought about twenty of them and twelve BG one-size diapers for overnights and nap times. We bought twelve newborn sized fuzzybuns for her newborn stage until she can wear the bigger sizes, but once she’s out of those we’re sticking to the EBs. From my sources the prefolds are better than other diapers, soft and absorbent for baby, then they wash so easily! The covers are very durable, too, so don’t let their appearance fool you. Good luck cloth diapering! I’ve already recommended EBs and BG to many people who are dying to use cloth diapers, but have been too afraid to just jump in feet first. We even gave wrappers from a BG and EB to the lady who sold us our car. She has three daughters who want to cloth diaper. Our entire stash of cloth diapers=<$400. The first year in disposables would cost at LEAST $1000. Definitely worth it!

I haven’t tried econobum, yet. But I would love to. I’m still trying different things looking for the fit for our family and budget. I like the price on these and if they are anything like the other cottonbabies products I use, flip and bumgenius, I bet they are great. For my prefolds I use a flip, thirsties and a bummis cover. I’m a big fan of one size diapers though. On a budget and I don’t like the idea of having to buy new sizes every time the kiddos grow.

I ended up getting some bummis covers and using prefolds. I felt a little spoiled using bumgenius for so long and have gotten frustrated on several occassions with the prefolds…I should’ve tried out the Econobums first instead!

I have several all-white Econobums along with one with Moonbeam and one with Ribbit trims. I use Econobums most often on my 2 month old. While my 2 year old gets them occasionally, she prefers the small stash of bumGenius that I have. It wasn’t always the case, but she’s now getting into wearing colors and white doesn’t do it anymore. Hah! I also have several prefolds for it, thanks to hand-me-downs that my MIL received. The Econobum prefolds are the nicest, though, and fold down well for the small sizes without being so thin that he leaks.

I have tried and love the Econobum covers over prefolds. I have trouble getting diapers to fit snug against my son’s skinny legs. I was hesitant to try the econobum, in general I’ve found that diapers with only one row of snaps don’t work for us, but the price was good and I’d heard that the elastic was a little tighter than the Flip (which gaped at the legs on my son). I was surprised to find that we get a great fit. I also love the simplicity of the white cover with colored trim. As much as I love using my prefolds, it’s important to have a great fitting cover to make the system work – and the Econobum fits the bill!!

I have 3 covers (White, Zinnia, & Ribbit) and 5 prefolds and I love them!! It’s such an easy way to CD that’s not complicated or confusing (definitely a plus for a LO in daycare!). The thing that surprised me the most about Econobum is how much of a bargain you get for the price! I decided to give it a try in the beginning since we didn’t have a lot of money for diapers at the time. I thought “this diaper would be good enough for a couple of months until we buy some more.” I’m glad to say that that Econobum is still working perfectly 8 months and many washes later!

I tried Econobums when I got one in my Black Friday grab-bag, and love them. I was surprised by several things: how absorbent the prefold is, how well the cover holds in messes, how much easier the prefold is to use than I thought it would be. I am pleased with how versatile the prefold is — I’ve used 3 different folds on it so far as my son has grown. I now use these more at home than my BGs, though I still send him to daycare with the BGs.

Though we do cloth diaper, I have not used Econobums or prefolds but I love their simplicity. I really considered going with Econobum when I was researching CDing when pregnant but went with gDiapers b/c of the hybrid insert option. Now that I have more experience I sometimes crave something without so many moving parts! I wish my gDiapers were one-size, like Econobum, and I wish they were more durable. I do like them a lot and don’t regret our choice but something more simplistic for day-to-day at home use would be great! I would LOVE to try Econobums out! Here’s hoping I win!!

Econobums were the first cloth diapers we tried (and continue to use). With a very tight budget and the price of disposables sucking up the cash, I decided it was time to do something different. I spoke to friends and did my research online. Everyone raved about Econobums and how affordable they were.

I bought a trial package with 1 cover and 3 prefolds. There began my obsession. Now I can gladly say I am NEVER GOING BACK to disposables! My baby’s bum loves the cloth, and I love the price and quality. We use the prefolds held together with a Snappi or trifolded and laid in the cover.

I was surprised by the quality. And most moms know that when it comes to cloth diapers, you “get what you pay for.” With Econobums we’ve never had a leak! Even my husband loves them. And that’s saying a lot. 😉

First of all, I love the bright zinnia lining of the Econobums and that they are so affordable! A cover and three prefolds for less that a small pack of disposables is definitly a steal. I also love that they are one size, and hold everything in. I exclusively cloth diaper now, with the prefold, Snappi, fleece liner and Econobums or Flips covers and have yet to see bf poo leakage!! Flips ar great too, but Econobums are more affordable with similar quality.

My son has gone back and forth between relatively chubby to pretty slender, and they have fit him well both ways.

(Yes, even over flips!) They are crazy durable, but still very soft. The fit is fantastic. My guy is over 30lbs and they are going to fit him for some time to come. I love that I don’t feel anxious every time a speck of dirt gets on them or they get a little pooopy, because they didn’t cost me that much in the first place. I still kick myself for not taking advantage of the 2 for $10 sale! UGH! Oh, and the prefolds are the softest prefolds I have ever used.

I absolutely love Econobum! I did a lot of research on cloth diapers before I made my decision, and I have not been disappointed. I wanted a simple, basic, well made cloth diaper, for a reasonable price. I was amazed at how much they can absorb, and how easy they are to use and to clean. I have recommended this product to all of my friends with babies, and will continue to do so. Wonderful product, exceptional price! They are the only ones I’ve tried, because I see no reason to spend more on anything else. I am a stay at home mom, so we get by on a single income from my husband. Thanks for the chance to win some more!

I use Bummis prefolds with a snappi, and econobums are my daily go-to diaper cover! I really like how it doesn’t add any more bulk to my Chubster’s cloth booty. It’s worth every penny, but cost so little of it!

I began my journey of cloth diapering about 2 months ago and have all BG pocket diapers. I was hooked with cloth diapering.
I never thought about using prefolds with covers because I thought it was not easy. When I came across the Econobum and read the product description I was surprised at how easy they are to use. I wanted to try it out so bad. But being a stay at home mom and having a complete diaper stash, it would be hard to convince my husband for some more cloth.
So I am super excited for this giveaway and I would LOVE TO WIN THIS because I can finally try the Econobum and get to experience a different way of cloth diapering!

I also have not tried Econobum. I used Thirsties Duo Wraps with prefolds on my 2nd new born for the first few months and really liked it. I’ve ended up using her covers along with my flip covers and inserts and really like that combo for her (along with a handful of Bum Genius of course :). I like the concept of the covers and prefolds to cut down on laundry a bit (I have two in diapers still and wash quite often). I’d be very interested to try the Econobums!

I have a couple econobum from the buy one get one sale you had a while back. I love them, especially the prefold. The prefold is really absorbent and the sewn in lines make it easier to fold. I like the cover, too. When I ordered them I was on the fence about the cover. I had read reviews where people thought they were too thin or flimsy to last. Once I used them I realized this isn’t too and I looove them now!

I was surprised by how high-quality and durable the Econobum covers are! I got one from a seconds sale and I will definitely get more with baby #2 coming soon – helps to save a little $ wherever we can! We use our Econobum with Flip organic prefolds and it works great – very trim and never a leak.

I put both of my daughters in Econobums with prefolds. I love that I can easily sanitize them just by taking the covers out of the wash and adding the hot water (or bleach, if needed). With two kids in diapers, it’s nice not to have to worry if one of them will pass on any nastiness via their diapers (they’re both prone to yeast infections).

I also love how inexpensive they are. I was so happy to find I could cloth diaper both my daughters for the same amount of money we normally spent on about three weeks of disposables.

My Econobum covers are my go to covers. Love them! I was surprised at how well they worked considering they are so affordable and how trim they can be. Now that we’re out of ebf poo I trifold and lay in a prefold – or use them with my flats. I’ve recommended Econobums to several friends that were interested in using cloth.

Thanks to a great friend who gave me a shower gift of some flips, I got a little braver. Now that my little one is 4 months I keep expanding my repetoire of CD’s. I haven’t tried econobums or other prefolds yet, but I’m definitely getting closer.

I tried an econobum set when we first began cloth diapering. I really didn’t like the cover when compared to the flip covers, but I really loved the prefold! Now that we’re potty training, I use the econobum cover over the training pants prevent wet clothing when we’re out and about and I absolutely love it for that!
The major part of my stash is actually GMD prefolds and flips covers. I have some BG AIOs, but after my son became a toddler, they’ve developed the stinkies, so I’ve been using the prefolds even more!

I haven’t tried prefolds yet. I’m totally considering flats for my baby due in July after he/she(we still don’t know!) grows out of the newborn fitteds I made. I’m actually going to try out a receiving blanket as a flat at naptime on my toddler. She’s potty trained so she only wears diapers at nap and bedtime. I don’t have a cover her size though. So I’m just gonna stick and empty pocket diaper over it as a cover. Probably more info than you needed but I’m in a talkative mood today and you can only say so much to a 2 year old before they just walk away and stop listening. lol.

I own a few Econobums and I think they’re fantastic! For a big brand like Cottonbabies to make an affordable cloth diaper that actually works and is cute is great and speaks volumes about Cottonbabies as a business.

Econobums work just as good, if not better, than more expensive cloth diapers and I’d love to add more to our stash!

I used prefolds/covers when my daughter (2.5) was a newborn/small infant. Econobum wasn’t out then. If I won, I’d definitely use them on new baby (due in August). My plan is to purchase more prefolds/flats to make up what I need to diaper from birth at the hospital.

I have never tried econobum, but I used prefolds on both of my newborns with a Bumkins cover or a grovia cover (my favorite). I’d love to try econobum, especially since we’re going to be missionaries with unknown water and washing accessability.

I haven’t tried econobums but my flips with organic inserts are actually my favorite out of all of the diapers I own. They’re the diaper I put on when I think, “a leak would be very inconvenient during this playdate.”

For the new babies I love chinese prefolds because of the frequency with which you’re changing. It’s so easy (and cheap) to buy a bunch. And they smaller sizes are just right for the newbies.

I own 2 Econobum covers & 5 Econobum prefolds and I love them!! Prefolds were a bit intimidating at first but now I prefer them to other diapers! I think that cost is a definite positive to the prefolds & Econobum cover! I wasn’t as in love with this system in the beginning but once my son hit about 15 pounds it was less bulky and easier to use! When I’m asked about cloth diapers I always recommend the Econobum covers & prefolds along with Bum Genius!. I simply fold the diaper & place it in the cover, when he was smaller I used a snappi, it helped contain breastfed poo!! When I first purchased the Econobum I was a little doubtful about the quality but I’ve been pleased at how the covers have held up to wear. Thank you Cotton Babies for making such an affordable, quality diapering option!!

To start my cloth diapering journey, I purchased Econobums, Flip covers, flats, and a few BumGenius diapers. I love them all for different reasons and think my range of diapers is perfect. I love that the Econobums fit so well regardless of the insert that you use. And even though we use more flip covers, my husband and I both still pull out the Econobum prefolds since they are so easy on the go and absorb so much. The fact that the prefold can be folded different ways to accomodate your baby throughout their entire diaper life is really surprising but so true! Econobums are such a great value when you dont want to spend more than necessary!

I have a white EB cover. I also have Flip, Thirsties, Thirsties Duo Snap, and Rumparoos covers. I use them with Indian prefolds and Flip inserts. I like the bright white and simplicity of design of my EB. I like the fit on my thin baby. I like to use it to keep my baby’s diaper from clashing with her outfit. Even though I like the white, I sometimes add some ‘pop’ to the white cover by laying a pretty cloth wipe between the cover and the prefold – the design of the wipe shows through for a subtle pattern on the bum!

I LOVE my EB covers! They fit my 8lb newborn perfectly without any leaks using an infant orefold or flat AND my potty training 2y/o when I used the EB prefold. The absorbancy of the EB prefold is perfect for overnight for young babies and can easily be doubled for older babies or super heavy wetters. I was really surprised by how much growing room was still on the waist for my 2 y/o, they really are versatile! They are high quality at a great value for those of us who can’t afford the high up front cost of other diapers!
