Cotton Babies Seeks Bloggers
July 15, 2011 11:10 am
“Natural parenting company seeks on-going relationship with skilled writers with experience in parenthood, sleep deprivation, dealing with toddler tantrums and the joys of potty training. Cotton Babies appreciates fresh content, great grammar and punctuation, deadlines, a humorous and authentic approach to life with a young child, long walks on the beach and great caffeinated beverages. If this is you, please read more below…”
Seriously though, we are looking for a few new writers or bloggers to join our team. We would like to have some fresh voices for some of our regular features like Real Mom Talk, Cloth 101/201 and more.
Cotton Babies team members will be traveling to BlogHer 2011 in San Diego, CA next month. While there, we would like to learn more about you and to share more about this opportunity. If interested in writing for this blog and will be attending BlogHer 2011 (or are able to meet with us near the host hotel), please e-mail a writing sample or your favorite blog post to media@cottonbabies.com Please include the text of the article in the body of your e-mail and a link to your blog(s). Once we review the writing samples, we may contact you to set up a meeting to chat with you in person during BlogHer.

Please let me know if you decide to open this up to people who logistically can’t travel. I am a stay at home mom with 3 kids under 4, but even if my husband could take off to watch them, the money isn’t there for a flight to CA!My blog and contact info:

I completely understand wanting to meet with applicants in person and the ease of doing so, but sadly, I am in the same boat as many others. I have 4 children, 5 and under, my youngest is 13 weeks. I live in Michigan, so a trip to the other side of the country when they count on me as their primary caregiver is out. I blog though, have 4 kids, as I said, and advocate for breastfeeding, cloth diapering, midwives, doula’s, and mother’s rights to achieve their ideal birth. I think I’d be a great candidate for “Real Mom Talk.” Here is my blog, just in case you’re interested. 🙂 http://www.thehagemeisterclan.blogspot.com
Bummer. I definitely can’t attend BlogHer, but you are always welcome to check out my blog if you’d like to! :~) I was an English lit major in college and am a certified English teacher, so I obviously LOVE to read and write!
I look forward to meeting the team!
Sounds like a great opportunity! Now off to select a post to send…

Hmmm… and what about Canadians? Are you ladies interested in having bloggers from the north writing for you? I have an 18 month old daughter and launched my business, Moon! and Sparrow Babies just after she was born. So I blog a lot about motherhood and the experience of raising my two babies — business and human — as well as products I love, challenges I face, and about the collective I founded with 8 other women, focusing on the baby product industry. Let me know!

So wish I could be at BlogHer. Have fun!
Thanks for your interest everyone. We are considering other ways we can “meet” bloggers in the future for similar projects. At this time, it is a first step and an easy way for us to meet in person. We’ll keep you posted about future opportunities.
I have a 6 month-old and can’t leave him home yet, but would love the opportunity to talk about blogging for CB! I actually work full time as a writer and editor, and have done some guest blogging for various natural parenting sites, like this one for The Cloth Diaper Whisperer:

I ditto Christy, I’m almost 9 months pregnant. BlogHer is out!
OH WOW! I would LOVE an opportunity like this, too bad I cannot afford to go to BlogHer 🙁
If you decide to open up online opportunities to apply please let me know.
Oh man I’m in canada! But check out my blog and you’ll see my style! http://www.amandaleescott.com/categories/journal
