Meet the Dogs Behind the Diaper
I am a dog person. Combined, my wife and I had three dogs (I had one, she had two). They were our first babies… we even included them in our wedding pictures.
Each dog in the Cloth Diaper Collectors Club’s first print, PAWsome, was inspired by my dogs or dogs I know. Here are a few of my favorites:
Haven
Haven was the best bud I’ve ever had. I rescued her on my 25th birthday and named her after my hometown ice cream joint, Ice Cream Haven. She passed away shortly before we found out we were expecting my son.
Howie
Howie is “step-dog” #1. I like him enough to have officially changed his last name to Elchert at our vet. He’s a distinguished gentleman and regularly sports a bow-tie.
Stella
Stella is “step-dog” #2. She is great with my son, Everett, who often shouts “ELLA” and giggles whenever he sees her. Her favorite hobby is peeing on my shoes, clothing and pillow. If only Cotton Babies made diapers for dogs…
Max
I rescued Max for my mom. I used to call him my timeshare dog because he’d stay with me some weekends when I was single.
Maverick
Maverick was my GodDog. My brother and sister-in-law got him before they got married. He was the smartest dog I’ve ever met and would play ball until he passed out.
Odell
“Odie” is my fellow Cotton Babies designer, Kristen’s dog. She and her husband named him after The Odell Brewing Company, which makes me laugh.

About the Author
Danny is a designer, art director, illustrator and new dad residing in South City, St. Louis. He started his gig at Cotton Babies shortly before welcoming his first son, Everett. The new job has been "a perfect fit for the season of life” he’s entered, and Danny enjoys working on brands he believes in, educating others (and himself) on cloth diapering and lives for the days he brings Everett in to the office. When Danny isn’t busy working on the next Genius Series print, he can be found training for half marathons, rehabbing his nearly 100 year-old home, cooking healthy meals for his family and exploring parenthood with his wife … all usually while wearing baby Everett.
