How to use hemp cloth diapers

Why Hemp

Are you dealing with a heavy wetter, a toddler, or looking for an overnight solution? Look no more. Hemp cloth diapers can help. Hemp is a natural fiber that has been used for centuries to make textiles. Not only is hemp a durable, strong and versatile fiber, it also features anti-bacterial properties making it resistant to mold, bacteria, heat and mildew. What does that mean for you? It means it’s great for cloth diapering! Hemp Babies™ products are free of herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers. It’s safe enough to go against baby’s delicate skin.

Did you know hemp absorbs nearly 8 times more than cotton? That means it can hold a lot of moisture and keep baby’s clothes dry.

We recommend hemp to be used as a prefold, booster, or as an insert with most cloth diapers.

Hemp Cloth Diaper Inserts

Let’s talk about the different hemp cloth diaper inserts made by Hemp Babies.

Bigger Weeds

These can be used in place of a prefold or an insert inside a cloth diaper cover or inside a pocket diaper. They were designed specifically for larger babies or toddlers.

Little Weeds

Little Weeds are similar to Bigger Weeds – just smaller. They can replace an insert inside a cover or a pocket diaper. They are smaller than Bigger Weeds, so you can get a better fit on a smaller baby.

Diaper Doublers

Available in Large and Small, Hemp Babies Diaper Doublers are a great way to add absorbency to diapers. Add them to your cloth diaper for overnight protection from leaks or as a booster during the day for heavy wetters. Hemp doublers provide a trim boost to your cloth diapers.

Flat Weeds

A great insert that can be used from birth-potty training. Because it is a flat, it can be folded to add more absorbency where it is needed.

Raw Silk Liner

Besides hemp, another great natural fiber is silk. These Raw Silk Liners have anti-bacterial properties that may keep yeast and diaper rash at bay. They are great to wick moisture away from baby’s skin.

When to Use Hemp

Are you dealing with compression leaks with your microfiber cloth diapers? Try adding a hemp diaper doubler. Hemp doesn’t absorb as quickly as synthetic materials, like microfiber. If you have an older toddler who “floods” their diaper, you may need to layer an insert that absorbs faster than hemp closer to baby’s skin.

Hemp holds a lot of liquid, so it’s a great option for overnights or naptime. It’s also trim enough to be used in a daytime diaper for your heavy wetters.
