Just for Fun: Cotton Babies Daily Snap

Are you are up to your elbows in dirty diapers? Is someone is always hungry? Can you go a single day without stepping on some sharp little toy with your bare feet? At my house, this can be extremely difficult. Some days it is hard to find the beauty in the ordinary moments of life.
I’ve recently been inspired by a fun little photo meme started by Fat Mum Slim, an Australian blogger. The idea is simple, each day you take a photo inspired by a word or short phrase. It doesn’t have to be fancy, it just has to be you. Smart phones and apps like Instagram make it even easier to capture the every day moments of life to remind you how beautiful your world is.
To celebrate May, Mother’s Day and all the beauty around you, our team worked to create a special little activity for you. Our hope is this will help you find the every day beauty around you, snap a few more photos of your precious family and maybe even make a few new friends through whatever social media or app you choose to use.
Cool! So how do I play along?
First, start with our list:
Each day in May, take one photo inspired by our word of the day. May 1 is cotton. You can take a photo of something that is literally cotton (like a cotton prefold or cloth diaper), something that looks like cotton or something that isn’t cotton at all, but makes you think of cotton. It’s all up to you. Below is my example, some of my favorite aden + anais cotton swaddle blankets.
Next, share your photo and add our hashtag #CBsnap. I personally love Instagram for this project. It can pair with Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and many other social media sites to distribute your photo. You can use your blog, Pinterest or whatever site you prefer. The hashtag just makes it easier to find others who are playing, so you can comment and maybe even make some new friends along the way. If your app allows you to tag or mention, be sure to tag Cotton Babies or @CottonBabies so we can enjoy your photos too!
Finally, if someone asks you what the photo or hashtag is all about, share this post with them! We love meeting new people and sharing ideas. The more people who play, the more fun it gets! Share this blog post with friends, family or complete strangers. While many of our words are inspired by cloth diapering concepts, this is open to anyone who wants to play along. Really, all you need is the list, a camera and a bit of creativity.
