New! Flip & Econobum, from the makers of bumGenius
September 13, 2009 5:37 pm | by

After rumors and speculation have flooded Facebook, Twitter, the Blogosphere and message boards for weeks, we are so excited to share with you what we have been up to at Cotton Babies…

Cotton Babies, the makers of the top-rated cloth diapering system, bumGenius, have developed two brand new cloth diapering systems that will make it easier than ever to cloth diaper your baby.

Flip is designed for the on-the-go consumer. One of the things we find most exciting about the Flip system is the disposable insert. This insert eases the transition into cloth diapers, makes vacations simple and helps families through times when life just demands something disposable. This system is fully supported with 100% reusable inserts as well. The One-Size Stay-Dry Insert is perfect for overnights or to keep little bums dry anytime. The 100% Organic Insert is perfect for families who prefer the more natural things in life. Whether you are at work, at home or traveling with your baby, the Flip system will be here for you with exactly what you need. We really think you will “flip” over this new diapering system (sorry, I couldn’t help myself!)

Econobum meets the needs of any diapering budget. Considered the affordable choice, it is a prefold with a diaper cover-but not just your average prefold or diaper cover. The prefold and cover are both one-size – so they grow with your baby. Econobum is priced at only $9.95 making cloth diapering an easy choice for every home. Econobum has already been awarded the iParenting Media Award.

Flip and Econobum are available for purchase through Cotton Babies at www.cottonbabies.com and the Cotton Babies retail location in St. Louis, MO. They will also be sold internationally through Cotton Babies authorized retailers.

We hope you love these products as much as we do!

Renee M. You can get them in white! they seem to be the same price no matter where you look for them.. Online (any website) or a local store.. they have like 10-15 different colors.. 2 shades of blue, 2 shades of pink, White, Cream, Green.. thats just off the top of my head the only thing about white is I’d be worried of the poop staining it lol.. but thats just me! by the way these are the kinds I use and LOVE!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the bumgenius flip covers. I have tried a couple of the cd covers and these are the best. I also have the bumgenius organic aio that I use for traveling and babysitters, however at home I use the flip. I use prefolds in them instead of the inserts. I do not have any trouble with leaking or blow outs using the prefolds. I use the imagine prefolds at night because they are more absorbant, and during the day I use (I know don’t laugh) the regular gerber prefolds. Cloth diapering has been a wonderful experience for my husband and I. We will continue to cloth diaper for all our children. Bumgenius has a wonderful product in the flip system and I would recommend it to everyone.

I’m due with my first baby in September. I am interested in cloth diapering. The flip system has really caught my attention. When I was doing research for the Bumgenius 3.0 I saw that 24-30 diapers is the minimum recommendation of diapers to have. I’m curious about how many flip covers and inserts I should buy. You don’t need as many covers as you have inserts, correct? Please help!

I love the new Flip system! I’m planning to replace all of my old contour diaper with Flip stay-dry inserts. I use the disposable inserts when traveling and highly recommend them too!

I am so excited that I saw these before we bought cloth diapers. This will be great. DS #1 just turned 12 months and DC#2 will be here in January and we really want to use cloth. I am so excited about trying these!

I just bought 2 flip stay dry day packs. I am so excited to get them. Although I can’t use them until February when the baby actually gets here. 🙂 I do have a question. Since the disposable liners are not available in stores if I am in a crunch can I use the gdiaper disposable liner? I chose your diaper over the others (gdiapers and Gro baby) because not only is your product more cost efficient I don’t have to continue to re-purchase a lot of stuff since it’s 1 size!

I love the idea of the Flip, but was bummed in the lack of color selection. I would have personally prefer white. So I ordered the Econobums instead. Does any one know if you can use the Flip inserts in the Econobums covers?

I’m wondering the same as you all so far: whether these less expensive inserts will work with gPants!?! And why so little information and NO pictures/tutorials!?

I already have gdiapers and am loving them, but don’t love the price of the disposable inserts. Wonder if the Flip disposable inserts would work with the gpants?

according to the cottonbabies website there are 18 per disposable for 4.95-sounds great to me! And according to a review/blog by diaperdaisy it is compostable and is supposed to fit any bumgenius line diapers (I want to try it in my 3.0 on trips!..but it doesn’t give an absorbancy rating so I probably would use it for overnight till they give out more info on it.)

Seems like a great idea. Curious about the disposable inserts. I checked out the website…what exactly does $4.95 get you. That can’t be just one?

Love it! I’ve been waiting for you to do a cover I could use with prefolds — I bet the Flip would work with prefolds as well as your inserts? I’d love to see more pics and more info, too.

I’ve seen people on other cloth diapers already talking about your new releases. They look AWESOME! Will you send them to any stores so we can see them in person? They’re both so revolutionary that I can imagine them but not quite…Maybe I’ll just have to buy them to see them first hand 🙂

The Flip sounds really interesting – only wish I had heard about it 2 days ago before I washed my brand new package of gDiapers.

These look awesome and I will absolutely be ordering some, BUT…I really wish you could get them in white! The blue is sweet, but it shows through their clothes if they have on something light colored. I have some of the lighter colored BumGenius diapers and have that problem with them, so I know that will be an issue with these as they are so dark. All in all however they look fabulous!
