Why I Love Breastfeeding My Baby
October 25, 2016 4:21 pm | by

When I became pregnant with my first baby, I thought I had everything planned out. I wanted to cloth diaper, wear my baby and breastfeed for at least the first six months. I hadn’t been around breastfeeding mothers before I had my daughter, but I figured it would be easy. After all, it was natural, right? Little did I realize… babies don’t necessarily follow your plans and unfortunately, breastfeeding my baby wasn’t going to be as easy as I expected. With my girls, I had some difficulties. I dealt with cracked nipples, low supply, and a baby with horrible reflux. Our breastfeeding relationships lasted a

Breastfeeding + Work. We Make It Work.
August 6, 2015 5:58 pm | by

With this month being National Breastfeeding Awareness Month, we’re not only celebrating this special time between a mom and baby, but also promoting how to make breastfeeding “work” in the workplace. Cotton Babies has “made it work” from day one. Cotton Babies Founder and CEO Jenn Labit started the business with her eight-week old baby by her side. Her very first employee started while several months pregnant, with her second employee soon to follow. Pretty soon, there were multiple moms with babies in the workplace. It worked then and even though we’ve expanded a lot over the years, it still works

Breastfeeding in Public – my experience in Ann Taylor
October 19, 2009 4:30 pm | by

Last week, we had to go to the Apple store to take care of a problem with my iPhone. While we were there, I had to back up the old iPhone to my laptop, which, if you own an iPhone, you’ll know can take quite a while. For 45 minutes, I held Elsie. She made it for a while, but eventually she got squirmy and fussy. It was time to eat. We hadn’t planned for a long stay and I was without a diaper bag. The Apple Store is bright and cheery and, by design, doesn’t offer even a corner

milkdaze nursing pads

When I had my first baby, I was definitely learning everything as I went. Breast pads weren’t even on my radar before my first son was born. He surprised us by coming two weeks early and although I had everything I needed for labor and the baby, I was missing things I needed for myself. Thankfully my sweet sister offered to run out for anything I overlooked – one of which was a pack of disposable nursing pads. My First Baby: Disposable Nursing Pads My milk came in pretty quickly, so I was grateful to have them on hand. I quickly discovered

Tips for handling the end of Daylight Savings in 2020 #parenting #COVID

Dear parents –  we’ve got this! 2020 has handed us our butts, but that means we can get daylight savings under control. We have several options. Move. Move to Arizona or Hawaii where daylight savings time is straight-up not observed. I’m pretty sure they are onto something here. See you in Hawaii! I volunteer as tribute. Ignore it. Let’s just be an hour late to everything for the next few months. We’ve got kids, so this won’t really surprise anyone, right? Time travel. Does anyone else remember the show “The Adventures of Pete & Pete“? I always think of the
