Review: BumGenius Liquid Laundry Detergent

If bumGenius laundry detergent had a #1 fan, it would be me. When I first started cloth diapering,I didn’t think it was necessary to use laundry detergent that was formulated for cloth diapers. Instead, I just used my homemade version. As a result, I would get so frustrated by the constant cloth diaper leaks. Then, I used a store-bought laundry soap, thinking it would help with the leaks. It didn’t.

At that point, I educated myself on how to properly wash cloth diapers and found that cloth diaper detergent wasn’t just a marketing technique. Since these detergents are free of the additives that often clog the fibers in your diapers, this would cut down or stop leaks. I noticed the difference. After I changed detergents and used one that was formulated for cloth diapers, I never had a problem with leaks again.

One of my daughters has unusually sensitive skin, and we have gone through countless rounds of battling eczema, which is also why I opted for bumGenius Detergent. Overall, it was much kinder on her skin, so for these reasons, I felt like I couldn’t love the laundry soap anymore — and then the formula changed!

I was disappointed at first because I found something I liked and I’m not a huge fan of  change. But then I gave the new liquid detergent a go, and I like it just as much, if not more than the powdered version. I haven’t had any problems with leaking and it is the same soft formula that doesn’t cause my baby’s skin to react. The new liquid detergent was created with Better Life, so it is made with all-natural ingredients and hypoallergenic.

In my opinion, bumGenius has hit a homerun and the liquid detergent is a success. I’m now a #1 fan of bumGenius Liquid Laundry Detergent.
