Share the Love is two years old! One site in Saint Louis, Mo. has now grown to 100 host sites in 39 states across the U.S., which means love is definitely in the air this time of year and it’s clear that there’s a whole lot of it going around.
Helping share the love among struggling families is accomplished by more than just the efforts of each of our amazing hosts. Each host is in a different community with a different set of resources. Hosts are encouraged to reach out to their communities for help in running their sites. They may receive help in repairing well-loved diapers, laundering donations, getting the word out, and so much more. If you are in an area with a Share the Love host, email sharethelove@cottonbabies.com to get in touch with them to help local resources meet local needs.
From Share the Love host Melanie: “I recently received a bunch of diapers that need repairs, and with my newborn it will be a looong time before I can get to them. So, I posted an ad in the volunteer category of Craigslist asking for volunteer sewing repairs. I’ve had two volunteers in one week! Being a Share the Love host has really renewed my faith in community.”
Without the help of all of those volunteers in all of those communities across the U.S. we would not be able to help people like Brittany, who received diapers through Share the Love, saying “Share The Love was amazing for me. I so badly wanted to cloth diaper my two children, but I was unable to build a stash due to lack of funds. Share the Love provided me with enough diapers for each child eliminating buying disposables. With the money saved from not purchasing disposables, I wasable to build a working stash in about 5 months and return the borrowed diapers! Share The Love truly helped me when I otherwise wouldn’t have been able to afford a diaper stash! Thank you, Cotton Babies!”
