Spoils for Spring
March 1, 2011 6:04 am
Happy first day of March! I don’t know about you, but I am definitely ready for spring this year. On Sunday, we had mild weather and my family had a lovely afternoon. We played outdoors, basked in the sunshine and let our creative juices flow all over the sidewalk in chalk.
To celebrate the first day of March, today we’ll be helping you prepare for the warmer weather when you get to put your love of cloth diapers on display for everyone to see. Before we know it, the weather will be warm enough for most of us to let our little ones out and about in our favorite cloth diaper and favorite BabyLegs.
To enter today’s blog giveaway, please leave a comment with your favorite springtime activity. What are you most looking forward to this spring?
Five random blog commenters will be selected as winners. Each will receive a prize pack with a bumGenius Artist Series Tiny Socialite Collection cloth diaper and a coordinating pair of BabyLegs from the newest additions to our bumGenius BabyLegs collection.
Eligible entries must be posted today, Tuesday, March 1, 2011. U.S. Residents only. Void where prohibited by law. No purchase necessary to win. Winners will be notified via e-mail.

Our favorite thing to do in the Spring is go for nature hikes. We have some beautiful trails in our area and my son is now old enough to walk the trails himself (rather than in the carrier.)
I am most looking forward to the lack of ice and snow. Considering I’m on the Texas Gulf, we have had a lot of it.

Wagon rides to the park, hanging on the playground, eating a picnic lunch, and taking lots of fun outdoor pictures! Can’t wait for the weather to warm up.
I was just going to say getting outside in the sunshine doing *anything* but now I’m more inspired, and I’ll add watching my husband get our garden ready. (I have the opposite of a green thumb, so it’s for the best, really, that I do nothing more than watch… Maybe our new baby will be his helper when she gets bigger….)
We love to go hiking and on long walks with our family!
I am looking forward to planting flowers around our yard and exploring the outdoors and beach with my 19 month old son.
Sunny walks! We actually got out today for an extra special walk, since I had to pick our darling 4 month old a little early from daycare. She is loving her walks with the moby wrap on some of our local nature trails! She’d love them even MORE in a new diaper with some baby legs!

We love to plant a vegetable and herb garden. Last year we grew our own tomatoes, peppers, squash and a large variety of herbs. I love that my boys learn where food really comes from while enjoying the beautiful outdoors.
Since spring is our shortest season in Texas, I’m looking forward to a few weeks of open windows before the blazing hot begins. Also, we’re expecting an April baby, so that’s really the thing I’m looking forward to most!

I think he’ll actually ‘get’ it this year. His reactions should be priceless and maybe my garden w ill actually survive this year. We like to take the extra veggies to the food pantry in town and id like to bring them more than lettuce this year.

Our first spring with a baby. I can’t wait to experience spring through a child’s eyes – splashing in puddles (do they make Wellies for a 9 month old?), looking for worms, watching the Robins nest on our back deck and the babies hatch, spring storms (that started in January in STL), and all the other wonders of nature!
P.S. Props to the West Co staff – we visited on Saturday with tons of questions about carseats and carriers and they were fantastic, as always. I left WAY more informed and they convinced my husband to give up the Bjorn for the Ergo (I needed some reinforcements on that one!). Thanks, ladies!!
I like to hula hoop outside! 🙂

Often we go the the local Ritas for free water ice because that is how they celebrate too.

I cannot wait to play outside in the sandbox and with the swing set!
Walking down to the park, laying out a blanket, and playing in the sunshine.
Spring is that time of year where we can open the windows and listen to the birds sing and enjoy all of it’s wonderful smells. It’s the time where I can take my kids to the park and it’s not too hot and not too cold. It’s the best time of year to just enjoy the outdoors.
Can’t wait to play at the park every day!!

I can’t wait to dig in the ground and get out garden planted and my flowers blooming! Right now the ground is still frozen and covered in snow. I guess I still have 2.5 more months before I can plant anything. 🙁

My daughter and I love to check out all the trees and flowers budding out so walks and lots of time in the yard is a must!!
Going to the playground with my kiddos 🙂
I can’t wait to be outside more! It’s been so cold and we’ve had so much snow that we’ve had to spend way too much time indoors. Bring on the sun!
Taking walks in the park or our neighborhood, playing in the backyard, and starting our vegetable garden!
I’m sooooo looking forward to spring! I look forward to taking bike rides w/ the kids, the arrival of baby #3 and evening walks around the neighborhood!

This Spring, I’m looking forward to meeting our little bundle of joy sometime around May 1st! Otherwise, I love having the windows open letting fresh air in, taking my daughter out to play, and for walks.

Camping and going to the park!
My (first) baby was born on December 30, 2010, so we’ve been mostly inside. I can’t even explain how much I’m looking forward to going for walks in the neighborhood and the park!
s.klausing@gmail.com
We are looking forward to the spring weather too, still a couple of months away here. Cannot wait to capture those cute baby toes in the grass for the first time!
We love anything outdoors. It’s not too hot or cold, and outdoor activities are generally free! Lately we’ve been walking to the neighborhood park so we don’t even have to get into the truck.
I can’t wait to take my son on walks in the park – without snow!!!! That was our normal Saturday morning without daddy. He needs to get out of the house!
abiandandy at gmail dot com
Without a doubt… playing in the rain! There is nothing more amazing than the smell of rain before it falls, running around being one of the kids, and snuggling when you dry off! (and hanging out together watching a storm roll in!!!) Oh I love spring!

So excited to spend more time at the park…especially now that my 13 month old is wanting to explore more than just the baby swing!
I feel as though we’ve been buried in snow and cold for a while, and I cannot WAIT to get out! My favorite outdoor activity is definitely hiking in backwoods areas here in Nebraska. I’m originally from Colorado, though, and nothing beats those mountain hikes! That’s my favorite for sure!
Showlove40 at hotmail dot com
I can’t wait to get out and walk/jog. We are looking into jogging strollers that convert to be able to pull behind the bike because we love to ride bikes too! Can’t wait for the warm weather way up here in Buffalo, NY 🙂
Our favorite thing to do in spring is to just get outside! We can’t wait to be able to go to the park or to just take a walk around the block!
…but what I’m most looking forward to is our WEDDING in April! We were married in a private ceremony a few years ago, but after buying a house and having our child, we’re finally having our wedding and reception that we have always wanted! So exciting! GARDENING! I love to plant vegetables and flowers. I’m so excited that DD is finally old enough to “help.” The last 2 out of 3 springs/summers were spent either being on bedrest with DD, or having DS, so I’m itching to get back out into the yard.
Can’t wait to get out there and ride my bike with my little guy!

Longer days and walks in the park.

Our favorite spring activity is going on family walks. We love taking walks downtown and we are always looking for new trails to walk on. It’s a wonderful way to spend family time together, get some exercise and it’s a great way to teach our kids about everything from the history of downtown to how plants and flowers grow.
Our favorite springtime activity is playing in the rain (in clothdiapers and raincoats of course- if it’s warm enough). Besides that, we enjoy taking walks to the park and investigating our friendly neighborhood squirrels 🙂
I think this year I am looking forward to daily trips to the park. Soggy OR weather makes it difficult for several months a year to get out every day 🙂
Our favourite spring activities are breaking out the sidewalk chalk and covering the cement patio and drive with colourful rainbows and flower drawings!!
We also resume our daily walks to the library and post office.
We plan out our garden and start looking at seeds in the stores.
We love spring! Can’t wait.
I can’t wait to start a garden with my daughter. She’s going to be 13 this year and is so busy with school and activities. I hope gardening and creating recipes with what we grow will give us some precious moments together.
We live in SC so Spring usually starts early for us. We actually had 85 degree weather this past weekend!:) I love it when we can get out with our dog and take him for long walks before it gets humid and uncomfortable here…can’t wait to be bringing our baby along in just a few short months!
Taking walks! Ready for the snow to be gone for good.

I love taking my son to the park! He loves to run around 🙂
I have won recently so I would like to voluntarily withdraw from the contest part 🙂 My favorite spring activity is cleaning up the yard. It is so enormously rewarding to spend a little time after winter cleaning up any leftover leaves and twigs, trimming up bushes, cleaning out garden boxes preparing them for planting, sweeping the deck and setting out patio/garden decor.
Our favorite spring time activity is just hanging out in the yard! Winter is so long here we all just bask in the sun and appreciate the lack of snow!
Going outside, more daylight, gardening, and line drying diapers in the sunshine!

I love spring. The warm weather and new blooms. I am most excited to go on walks with my new baby boy and enjoy the zoo and parks with our new family.
Spring is probably our favorite season. It’s been a grumpy winter, and we’re ready to have a full spring in our new house. We love to take walks and check out wildflowers, pick up sticks, check out the newly budding trees, walk along the creek and see if we can spot fish or frogs, jump in mud puddles, get some yard and garage work done, and just in general have fun outside. (As an aside, my daughter wore her cloth diapers outside all summer last year. She rarely wore pants–it IS possible to get blue latex based house paint AND transmission fluid/assorted engine grease out of cloth diapers)…
I live in an area with lots of snow (Michigan), and can’t wait to get out and go for walks with my little one! Seeing all the snow melt, and smelling the fresh dirt, and watching the flowers come up… ohh I’m so anxious for spring!
Taking walks to the park and the library! Or generally being outside and getting some sunshine!
