About Mama Ashley Daily

After conceiving our daughter Corinne (nicknamed “Coco” for short while she was still in the womb) my husband and I knew we wanted the healthiest options for our child. One of those options we quickly discovered was cloth diapers. For the first month or so we functioned solely on 12 prefolds and 2 newborn covers. During that time we did not have the funds to purchase more diapers. I hand washed the covers and washed the prefolds at night. We used disposables from our baby shower during wash times. We HATED how much garbage they created and how costly they could become for a thing that goes to the garbage. As anyone who has ever cloth diapered a newborn knows, 12 prefolds is far from adequate for cloth diapering a poop machine in those early days!

Seeing as how we had no money and I wanted to learn to sew (you heard right, I hade ZERO sewing experience) I ventured online with a bag full of old flannel PJs by my side and went at it. FOUR hours later I had a very wonky newborn flannel fitted. It was hideous but I loved it! Not only did it cost me little to nothing but it was also a daddy friendly (and 2 am friendly) diaper. It was not long after that simple fitted that I was making more fitteds, all-in-ones, covers, up cycled wool…the list goes on. I loved it so much and was confident in my skills and craftsmanship that in November of 2011, I had my first actual customer and set up my Facebook page the very next month. It was only natural that the name be “Coco’s Fluff”. If it wasn’t for my little girl I never would have started making diapers. You can learn more about Ashley and Coco’s Fluff on Facebook.

Each cloth diaper featured during Stashing through the Snow is a
unique design that is only available in limited quantities only at Cotton Babies, while supplies last.

Help us rejoice about the creations of work-from-home moms and small businesses around the world!
