Thursday Giveaway: Sharing is Caring
September 10, 2014 6:34 pm | by

We’ve all heard the phrase, “Sharing is caring.” It’s a simple mantra that, if practiced, can really make a difference. Whether you give away your time, your attention, your toys, your money, or even your cloth diapers, sharing is a way to build relationships and even help someone in need. Our national cloth diaper bank, Share the Love, was created with the “sharing is caring” philosophy in mind. We work to share local resources and cloth diapers with low-income families, but we can’t do it without you. Every diaper we share with someone was generously shared with us. For this week’s

Review: Flip Potty Trainer
June 26, 2014 8:18 pm | by

Our just-turned-four-year-old son has been out of diapers for about a year. Or, he’s out of diapers during the day at least. Staying dry all night has been a bit more of a struggle though, so I jumped at the chance to try out the Flip Potty Trainer from Cotton Babies.  I learned pretty quickly that I would need to boost the absorbency, at least initially. But the great thing about the system is that it’s easy to add an extra insert. I loved being able to adjust to what we needed, instead of being stuck with limited options. And even

Review: Flip Organic Inserts
June 13, 2014 2:48 pm | by

I have a very extensive diaper stash full of bumGenius, Flip and other brands. I’ve got Freetimes, 4.0s, and Flips galore. However, I’ve never tried a single Flip insert. For whatever reason, I always used a prefold, flat, or made a receiving blanket into a flat. So you can imagine my surprise when I finally tried the Flip Organic Day Time Inserts. Oh my goodness. Talk about trim. If you’re trying to get away from the cloth diapered large baby bum, this is the way to go. My husband and I were actually laughing at how small her bum looked

Thursday Giveaway: The Power of a Hybrid
May 14, 2014 6:08 pm | by

What’s the definition of a hybrid? Well, if you ask a car lover the same question, they will most likely say, “Prius.” If you ask a zoologist, they will respond with “Zebroid.” And if you ask someone who uses cloth diapers, they’ll instantly exclaim, “FLIP!” Flip Hybrid Diapers allow parents to use one cloth diaper cover with three absorbent insert options to meet their changing needs. Just choose from stay-dry, organic or disposable inserts.  Change it up and try something new or grab something fast and convenient. But whatever you prefer, Flip gives you flexible choices when it comes to cloth diapering,

Cloth 201: HE Wash Machines
April 28, 2014 1:50 am | by

The great debate: HE vs. Top/Front Loaders.  Despite the type, wash machines all do the same thing: clean your cloth diapers. And with this logic, you would think that you could wash cloth diapers the same way in a HE or top/front loader, but you can’t. HE wash machines use as little water and energy as possible to clean your laundry, so when washing dirty cloth diapers, it is extremely important to be sure that your bumGenius, Flip and Econobum covers are getting cleaned enough. If not, your cloth diapers may start to stink due to detergent build up and left over messes, which could irritate
