Change 3 Things materials
February 18, 2011 6:02 am | by

Earlier this week we shared with you the Change 3 Things Challenge for 2011. The goal is to have 100,000 parents committed to change at least 3 diapers a day. We believe 3 diapers is a manageable goal for that almost any parent can do.

To assist you as you share the benefits of cloth diapering with others, we’ve created some promotional materials. We’ve created a t-shirt and a silicone band that you can wear. Our hope is that these materials serve as conversation starters.

We also have designed Change 3 Things Share Cards with some quick facts that you can hand out to those who ask you about the benefits of cloth diapering.

The card asks: Did you know?
  • One baby contributes at least 1 ton of waste in diapers alone to a local landfill.
  • Disposable diapers are the third most common consumer product in landfills today.
  • A disposable diaper may take up to 500 years to decompose.
  • A family can spend $1500 to $2000 or more on disposable diapers by the time the baby has moved on to potty training.

Cards are available in a pack of 250 for $10.00 We are selling these cards at cost, as we have many requests for printed material that customers and cloth diaper educators can give out when asked about the benefits of cloth diapers.

We also are providing “Change Kits” with some of your favorite Cotton Babies cloth diapering products, packaged in multiples of three with a free silicone gift included. Great for yourself or to give as a gift to a friend who is curious about cloth diapering. All Change 3 Things products can be found here.

Don’t forget to join the challenge by clicking “Like” on the Facebook page. Share your story of cloth diapering and how you are sharing the benefits of cloth diapering with your family and friends by posting on the Change 3 Things wall.

I’m going to have to get some. I’m a HUGE advocate of CDing as I’m sure most mothers who do it are. I just wanted to share what we’re really up against as this is part of a conversation that I had with a nonCD mom somewhat recently.

“I use disposable diapers and I think that they are a wonderful invention. We have chemicals entering our bodys from the food we eat, the pollution in the air, the water that we use to bathe, and even the water that we drink. So, I don’t think that disposable diapers are any more harmful than everything else that we are exposed to. The cost of diapers, aren’t an issue for me. I would pay $50 a box. lol….. I think that it is wonderful that you guys are willing to go through all of that trouble, but I just don’t have time. If my kids had poop that would leak through the diaper, I through the whole outfit away not to have to deal with it. Clothes is cheap enough to just buy another outfit. Did you use cloth diapers on all of them? I’m asking because aren’t they close in age? You must have spent a lot of time cleaning the cloth diapers and their clothes. I’m not looking down on it in any way. I think that it is fabulous if you have the time and patience to deal with the mess. 🙂 Good Luck”

After talking to her more and at further length and actually sending her two diapers just to try it out….She’s a CD mom now!
