Phil & Ted’s Lobster High Chair
January 14, 2011 6:04 am | by

I’m sure I’m not the only parent who has ever cringed at the sight of the high chairs available at my local restaurants. Let’s face it, a baby wipe is certainly not going to cut it when it comes to that level of dried food grime.

At Cotton Babies, we really love the Phil&Ted’s Metoo high chair. It is great because it allows your child to sit at the table with the rest of the family and eliminates the need to use the often dirty high chairs in restaurants. But, we’ve been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the newest high chair in the Phil&Ted’s line, the Lobster High Chair.

Amy, our Cotton Babies’ buyer, was really excited as she shared with me the improvements that Phil&Ted’s has added to their popular clamping high chair to make the Lobster better than ever.

The Lobster’s upgrades include:
  • A five-point harness for securing baby.
  • Pincer-like clamps with rubber trim that protect the table while gripping it securely.
  • Full size handle grips for tightening the clamps to the table.
  • Dishwasher safe, removable food tray.
  • A carry bag, to keep lobster in its shell when not in use.
  • Padded seat, which is easy to wipe clean and machine washable.
Weighing just under 4 lbs, the lobster might be lighter than your diaper bag! It is extremely travel-friendly, making it convenient to take to restaurants, on family vacations or to grandma’s house.

Curious about the ways you could use a Phil&Ted’s Lobster high chair? Check out this fun video:

The Lobster is available in two color combinations for $79.99 with Cotton Babies’ free economy shipping. While supplies last.

Rob and Nicole, I don’t think anyone in the restaurant will really care… remember when you have your part time job or worked in retail/restaurant? I did my job and didn’t pay attention to the durability or the use of the decor. Plus the restaurant never pay a fortune for their tables…. because they might change them in a year.

I’ve traveled with the Phil & Ted’s product many times. It fits easily into a carry-on suitcase. I’ve used it in hotels, airports, restaurants and at home. I’ve never seen it hurt a table. I’ve also never had anyone ask me not to use it….

    Kindest regards,
    Jenn

I have one like this but a different brand. I love it but you have to be very careful on the type of table you use it on, you don’t want the table to tip (which has happened to my nephew). I love to keep a fisher price booster in the car, it is very easy and will fit on any chair ( even use it in a booth) and it has a tray. I have never had a problem using my clip on one in a restraunt…they always comment on what a good idea it is.

I think I need one of these. My only concern is whether restaurants will have a problem with you clamping it to the table, in case it causes any damage? I have a high chair cover but sometimes it’s just too much work!

I have loved our cloth travel chair, I have something similar to the lobster chair that we got for our camping trips, but the ‘pinchers’ don’t open big enough for the concrete rest area tables, only wooden ones. 8(

http://WWW.mylittleseat.com stashes in my diaper bag and was a steal @ $13.00!

I wish I had considered something like this–what a space saver! Regular high chairs take up so much room!

I love using the Metoo chair with my babe, but this looks incredible!
