This is our first year doing our own christmas so I will be reading through for tips! I found an amazinf nursing bra at macy’s when I was nursing my first daughter and I cant remember the name of it, and now it has been too loved to tell what the tag once said.
I try to buy a few months before christmas to save money or find good deals. I start house cleaning/prep a month before and get our tree a week or two after thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving is easy for me because we are always guests elsewhere.
I start my christmas shopping EARLY, like July. Then I slowly start building my gift supply so that by the time Thanksgiving comes around, I’m DONE
Our planning for the holidays will change now that we will have our newborn with us. Before being pregnant, we were able to do whatever we wanted and didn’t have to worry about planning much. Now with a LO, I would like to space out buying gifts throughout the year! Thank you!
This year I am working on planning some new family traditions like a kindness elf, and reading a Christmas book every night the week before Christmas.
I plan to work this holiday season. I will spend time with family, but I will mostly be in the office.
I plan on staying home. I love Bravado Bliss
I plan for the holidays by making lists for traveling! I also keep an eye out for deals of gift items months ahead of time.
I plan my holidays early. My husband pulled down some decorations today. We put away the Halloween decor already. I like having an idea of what is happening for the holidays.
I make list!! List all the places you need to go and what I need to buy. I try to do price matching, too! I always say I will buy earlier in the year, but it has yet to happen! Thank you!
I buy gifts all year long at discounted prices- helps me get a leg up on the pile! I stockpile things like freebies at Bath & Body Works to add to gifts, too. I also follow coupon pages to find great deals, like Surviving the Stores!
My fav nursing bra is motherhood, We don’t have plans for christmas yet 🙂
Food and togetherness are whats important to us .. so we just work on meal ideas and getting the family at one place on different days !
We are terrible holiday planners. Thanksgiving is at our house this year, and I’m pretty sure we haven’t ordered our turkey yet. Time to get on it. My favorite nursing bra is a Pea In The Pod sleep bra. I wear it all day every day. The nursing bras with underwire only work well for pumping IMO.
I’m a last minute shopper. I will make lists and get ideas a couple months before and fool myself into thinking I’m going to be on top of things but without fail im hitting up every store to find stuff the last week before..
I always budget the family dinner for the holidays before the gifts. A family holiday dinner with memories is always something we will remember. Toys break but family is forever. Then I go nuts on deals online. Free shipping is always my face. Lol
I do mealplans. I am also planning on doing a bunch of freezer meals for the week that my sister will be visiting. So we can enjoy each other’s company and not worry about meals. I love my Bravados!
I buy everyone one christmas gift every two months. that way, i’m not crunched for cash at the end of the year
Target has great nursing bras
We are going to my in-laws. I hope to cloth diaper while there so I am set with some diaper liners!
We haven’t started making Christmas plans yet, but things will be very simple as we’re on a tight budget. I just use nursing camis from target. I find they are way more comfy than nursing bras!
For the holidays – I plan on spending a lot of time cuddling with my little one.
We usually get together at my moms house and exchange gifts and have dinner and do the same on Christmas Eve at my dads.
Unfortunately I have VERY large breasts and could only wear the Goddess Keira nursing bra since it’s the only one that goes up to a N cup.
I use a holiday bank account to save for the holidays ahead of time. The bank sendsa check for the full amount in the account in November. That way I’m able to save a little at a time for the holiday season, which makes it a ton easier by the time all of the holidays are here.
We plan way in advance for the holidays due to several people in my family working jobs that require us to work on the holidays, so we usually have our plans figured out months in advance!
I wish I had tips to getting a head start lol!
I plan to enjoy the last little bit of my pregnancy over the holidays. This will be the last Christmas we have before Charlie Bear comes! I can’t wait to meet him, but he needs to cook for as long as he can!
I usually buy throughout the year, but this year with being preggo and having a newborn, I’m behind!
I plan for the holidays by making a list and checking it twice! Lists for menus, presents, chores, etc. help me stay organized.
I buy for all of my nieces and nephews all during the year (we don’t give birthday gifts). It makes it a lot easier when I just focus on what to get the adults as the time nears.
I love Walmart nursing br as
This year we’re planning a pretty low-key Christmas. I’ll be 36wks pregnant with baby #2, so we’ll just be enjoying some time as a family of 3 before we add a new family member.
I make a ton of lists and stick to them for the holidays.
My favorite nursing bra I got from Target. I can’t remember the brand name but it lasted forever.
I usually freeze what I can- pie dough, cranberry sauce. And prep other stuff in the days leading up. But with a 5 week old all bets are off! We won’t be hosting this year 😉
I start by buying all the clearance stuff right after Christmas…the boxes, wrapping paper, and things like that. And I always make a list!
I love the nursing bras at Target!
I usually take a few mornings with my mom to get shopping done for the whole family.
I plan for the holidays by doing all my shopping online from the comfort of my living room. I get myself a little something extra, too. 🙂
My husband and I have been talking about our favorite things and buying some gifts already
The Bravado nursing bras are the best and worth every penny! So comfy and they don’t wear out easily.
I’m due with my first little one in early December so my husband and I will be staying home for Christmas taking care of our newborn this year. Hopefully family will come out and visit us since we usually drive out to see them! I’m looking forward to breastfeeding, cloth diapering, and taking tons of pics of my baby girl! She’s going to be the perfect gift!
I try to buy a present a pay period starting in October sometimes sooner and that way it’s not as much of an initial expense.
I shop all year round, and sometimes am done before it’s even August 🙂
Just started using bumGenius diapers and trying to build up my stash.
We’ll split the holidays between my family and my inlaws. Hopefully, we’ll finish shopping early enough to enjoy the rest of the season.
For the holidays we gather at both in-laws houses (one house does a lunch and another house does the dinner). Double Christmas with both families. It’s hectic but fun, we are luck they both live in the same town, so it’s not much of an inconvenience.
We try to keep things fairly simple, but I try to start shopping early so I’m not rushing around close to Christmas. I actually really enjoy Christmas shopping for people, but I try to get it out of the way so I can relax and enjoy the season as much as possible!
I love Bella Materna Nursing Bras!!
My trick is to shop local as much as possible!
Start early and do a little at a time!
Holidays are always interesting when you have several families to split the festivities between! Fortunately we are able to join family for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. This year we have even more to be thankful for and celebrate as we eagerly await the arrival of our first child.
With all of the excitement of the holidays, it’s easy to forget about putting a little time aside for yourself. We made sure we had a couple of days set aside to spend some quality time together going ice fishing. Heading out on a lake with spotty cell service is a perfect excuse to disconnect form the hustle and bustle and reconnect with ourselves.
Cleaning like a mad woman! Then the usual shopping and cooking but my husband and I always still make it a point to stop, rest and uplift one another through these fun but stressful times. This year we get to celebrate with our new and first baby so she makes the holidays even more exciting now 🙂
This is our first Christmas as a married couple, and our first as parents so this is a new experience for us! I’m very excited to get our son a few things each paycheck so we aren’t hit with everything all at once. We do breast feed, and can only afford the nursing bras from walmart, so that’s what I use.
Usually, my little family’s holidays don’t require much planning, but this year my brothers will be coming to stay with us! I’m planning ahead by getting my freezer stocked with some quick freezer meals so we can enjoy our time together. Teenage boys gotta eat! I’m making up lists of craft, cookies and other preparations so we’re ready to check things off as soon as their plane lands!
My favorite nursing bra is a wrap-style sports bra I got at the Motherhood Maternity store. Super comfy, and not complicated.
We are horrible about planning the holidays. We kind of go with the flow with what other family members are doing. We love going black Friday shopping for gifts though.
I try to get some Christmas gifts throughout the year, although I’ve been slacking this year. I do already know who we’re buying stocking stuffers for on my husband’s side of the family and have gotten started on those.
I use a website that allows me to earn gift cards. Thankfully this year I did ok and I had enough gift cards to get half of my shopping done. Right now Im earning more to buy giftcards for my older kids. Now I onky have to worry about the food.
I am always really late getting everything together for the holidays but this year I am already done with gifts! I am excited to not spend the holidays rushing around but instead actually enjoying this wonderful time of year! My biggest tip is to not procrastinate!
I start pulling together lists of ideas for gifts and recipes to get ready for the holidays. I also start accumulating rewards and gift cards. And I watch for good deals!
Doing an advent calendar is the best way to stay organized & have fun. It’s good to know ahead of time what the “plan” for the day is. Whether it’s baking cookies, decorating cards or just watching Christmas movies. I also add reminders to myself – like wrapping presents & taking boxes to the post office to be mailed. It’s too easy to get overwhelmed during the holidays so this is the way I find best to enjoy it & stay on top of things! 🙂
I have been picking up clearance gift items all year long and storing them in a bin for each person in the basement. This makes budgeting and planning a little less crammed all at once.
This year i will not make any holly days plans because they always come out to change at the end so this year i will free style it I will make every day as best as I can and hopefully everything will come out perfect.
I made a wishlist for my kiddos on Amazon and started buying 1-2 things a month off of back in May. 😀
I have been making wish lists for my family, so when it comes time for shopping I will know what I need to look for.
We don’t really plan for the holidays. we have a very small family. I’m single with two kids who don’t know there dad and the only people other then me they have is my parents.. So really not much going on. I try to get a few things throughout the year i see on sale for holidays and my oldest sons birthday is 3 days before Christmas. usually a lot of thrift store shopping to find something in nice condition for Christmas!
We ate spending Christmas at the beach! For Thanksgiving we are eating lots of food with lots of family!
lots of list making, crafting, and lots of crock pot meal planning 🙂
I like to do most of the shopping a head of time to avoid the holiday rush.
For out jump start we create a meal plan. Everyone makes two traditional things. My favorite nursing bar is my sports bar while at home!
I plan ahead by trying to get asuch ofy shopping done before December. That way I can enjoy all the festivities without rushing to overcrowded stores. 🙂
I already work in a store so I buy as I can and try to keep in mind my family members’ needs and likes. I do not deal well with “I gotta find a gift now!” I prefer the gift ideas come to me and not viceversa.
Money is SUPER tight for me as a single mom so l’m trying to make gifts this year! l’ve already started on a few things for friends and l plan on making my daughter’s first Christmas stocking soon!
my husband works & kiddo is not yet 2… so we often change the date of christmas to a day or two later. My mom is also flying over on the 27th — ish… so we’ll have lots of fun w. her while she’s in town.
My brother & family is coming home and we’re going to get together.
So far I haven’t even thought about the holidays. Totally not in the mood for any of the hustle and bustle.
With little ones, I have to start shopping early and a little but at a time. I also start preparing our advent calendar and activities before December.
I shop early and online.
I start planning super early. I love to plan and be organized. We do most of the same traditions year after year, but since getting married, we do have to plan when we will be at each parents house. This year will be our first with our baby, so we’ll definitely have to make sure all the grandparents get quality time with the baby. I can’t wait
I would like to try th milkies mikk savee
Only the kids exchange gifts in our family. Shopping early is fun and less financially burdensome.
Nursing bra… I preferred nursing tank tops from Target.
I keep a running list of gift ideas throughout the year so that I’m not wracking my brain a few weeks before Christmas.
We usually mostly just plan whose family we will be at early in the year and then closer to time plan out the actual details of food, etc. And I try to start seriously thinking about gifts usually in early November.
We will be celebrating the holidays at our new 5 acre ranch.
We’re getting together with family and having a traditional meal. My favorite nursing bra is a Bravado nursing bra from Target. It has lasted me a year and a half. I will use it for baby #2 coming in March.
Make specific gift shopping lists for each person on my list. Coordinate with my mom on food. Still trying to make our own family traditions with goal on keeping holidays Christ centered. Currently making plans on doing an advent calendar with activities for our three year old.
I love destination maternity’s nursing bras. The only place I can find comfortable ones that are also supportive. And they last. I’m still using some from breastfeeding my first. I used them for 13 months with my first, during my second pregnancy, and they are still going strong at 9 months with my current babe.
We plan for the holidays early in the year. Money’s usually tight in the winter time, but we try to make it a good time for our little family. I enjoy baking with my son and watching him open his gifts.
Our favorite part of the holiday season is being with our family and friends! We like to make unique gifts for them.
I start looking up reviews for potential gifts in the hopes of avoiding disappointment with gifts later on.
I’m a teacher… no such thing as getting ahead. I work like crazy up until a week before the holidays, and then clean and plan like crazy the week of Christmas!
We plan for the holidays by arranging dates with families months prior so everyone can prioritize family time! We also do a gift exchange and try to make sure each sibling’s list is turned in by mid November so people have plenty of time to shop…
Favorite nursing bra? Bravado Body Silk Seamless!
We try to plan ahead and start shopping early. We save through out the year. Also download a Christmas planner to stay organized.
I buy gifts months in advance for my little one. One or two gifts per pay period. Less strain on our budget.
I also coupon for things for holiday dinners if possible. 🙂
We’re selling some things on eBay to save money for travel expenses and gifts!
Preparing for the holidays? This year that isn’t happening. We are just going to wing it this year. My husband has been gone all year (military) and I’m
In school. We just found out we are moving 12 hours north the day after I graduate which is the week before Christmas!! So, we’ll be moving in, throwing up some decorations and Christmas present shopping on December 23! I’m sure it’ll be really fun 😀
We budget a certain amount for holiday spending. This year we’ll be gathering with my family and preparing for the birth of our child in a few months. No nursing bras yet (since this kid is coming sometime in February. But look forward to reading the other suggestions!
I keep my eyes open for family gifts throughout the year. I also pay attention to shutterfly deals and freebies closer to the holidays to send out of town family and friends pictures.
My plans this holiday season are to make everyone work on setting up for baby while they have time off! I do start planning and acquiring gifts early. Preferably before December my shopping is done.
I really don’t do much planning for the holidays! It seems like I’m always last minute shopping!
Plan on shopping ahead of time.
I get my shopping done asap to avoid the rush and chaos. I never had a nursing bra
I start shopping as soon as Christmas is over for the next year to get good deals.
We dont do planning very well lol but we do shop sales, and since my girls are young e are able to shop for gently used items as filler gifts, like clothes and toys. Other than that most of our holidys are spent at my families houses, I just supply the ham or turkey.
We aren’t sure just what we are doing yet. We may stay home or travel to see family. We are very spur of the moment type people so things are sometimes last minute. One tradition we have is that we all go to the mall and walk around together looking at things and pointing out items that we like. Then we split up and do some shopping and meet back after a set time. When it comes to food, we love to go all out. Sometimes we follow traditional meals and other times we try new things. We always make it fun!
I plan by watching for sales WAY ahead of time, and saving rewards points on my credit card & rebate money from coupon apps for online shopping!
I get ready for the holidays by starting my lists, lists for cards, gifts, decorating, everything! Every year my husband laughs as I get started. This year we are expecting #2 right after Christmas, so the lists have multiplied!!
We have plans for Thanksgiving and Christmas already because my parents are traveling from Delaware to Ohio to visit us! It’s our son’s first Christmas so I’m very excited!
I start saving and shopping months in advance. I also order a lot online to get it done as easy as possible.
We like to save our reward points all year and cash them out in October for gift cards that we then use towards Christmas gifts. This works out great because we don’t have to worry about money being tight around the holidays.
We usually start Christmas shopping early. We do alot of online purchases.
I use the cheaper nursing bras from Walmart 🙂
Because I usually hand make gifts for family and friends, I usually try to start as early as possible but it’s all about setting achievable goals. Like one set of earrings and a necklace, one scarf and cards by the end of the week. That way I can break down the holidays into bite sized pieces.
I don’t really plan for the holidays! I just throw up the tree and some holiday knickknack and call it a day!
I prefer Medela brand nursing bras and Undercover Mama nursing tanks. Medela uses very soft fabric. Undercover Cover Mama tanks make it easy to use any nursing bra and cover your tummy.
I am Jewish and my family doesn’t do anything huge for Chanukah. Typically as kids we could choose 8 small presents (think $10 or less) or one big present. As we got older my mom just handed us a $50 bill and so no planning was/is needed.
My favorite nursing bra is a Cake Lingerie I got on a zulily sale. I wish I had paid attention to the fact that Australian bras are sized differently though cause it is tight. But oh so pretty and supportive.
I hope to just have a relaxing get together with the in-laws. My nursing bra of choice is the wrap around by La Leche League.
Plan a toy/book swap with local mamas every November. That way we can eliminate some expenses and our littles can enjoy somethig another little has outgrown or lost interest in! Also great for decluttering before the influx of presents from family and Santa!
We aren’t super well to do, so I keep a lookout on homemade gifts I could make my family and extended family for Christmas all year. We also try and buy through the year (Especially August and after) so the expense doesn’t hit all at once! And lets not forget, we love to decorate for the holidays!
I make a spread sheet of everyone I have to buy for. My husband an I both come from big families so I have to make sure not to forget anyone 🙂
I prepare for the holidays by having a head start on Christmas shopping. Once November hits, I am stocking up on gifts. I hate trying to find things last minute!!
We just kinda go with the flow. otherwise known as procrastinators. Lol
I try to think of gift ideas months in advance. This year is easy… All the grandparents are getting photobooks of their new grandbaby Evelyn!
We try to gather gifts thru the year so we don’t have to have a huge chunk of our budget spent at once. We also like to try to plan with family ahead of time so we can be sure to al get together!
I keep running amazon wish lists. Makes shopping easy.
I do my holiday shopping throughout the year to get the best deals and head start the holidays.
I keep telling myself I’ll start sooner but i never do. The one thing I DO do, is avoid shopping centers around the holidays. I would much rather pay shipping than fight crowds. We also have things mailed to family out of state that we’ll be visiting anyway. Less for us to pack!
Holidays are such a wonderful time for families. We start planning by setting dates on the calendar for tree decorating, hot cocoa and Christmas light watching, holiday movie nights and all those other special memory makers. By setting dates in advance, family can usually plan around it and we can all get together for fun and the festivities. It’s such a magical season.
Not sure about nursing bras – still hunting for the right one. I am open to suggestions though. :). We are expecting our first in March. 🙂
Thanksgiving will be spent with welcoming a new baby, so we are taking our 6 year old to the American girl store to pick out an early Christmas gift. I don’t think I’ll be up to shopping this time around.
We our spending our holidays at our home this year! Thanksgiving we will be inviting over single troops who live on our local post. Christmas we will spend as a family, and then soon after relatives will visit. Very exciting! My tip for the holidays would be shop early! We began shopping early September to help spread out the cost of gifts. 🙂
I start planning in October and try not to stress and remember what the holidays are really about 🙂
I’m already starting on my list. We use amazon wish lists for a Christmas list for buying. It really helps.
Since I was 8 months pregnant at Thanksgiving last year and delivered Dec 22 and will deliver this year early to mid Dec again :-), we try to decorate mid November and do a lot of online shopping and deliver it straight to the persons house…I don’t feel much like traveling!
Shop ahead of time and price shop before committing to a purchase!
Spending time with the family and celebrating baby #2’s first Christmas 🙂
I make sure to put everything on layaway a month before so I can pay a little every week!
We have five kids, so we are getting a new outdoor play structure as a group gift from mom and dad. Then all we have to do is help Santa pick out a few little things for them 😉 I have a daughter with a December birthday, so we are shopping for both occasions this weekend and will be DONE, except for hitting a few cyber Monday sales.
We start planning and deciding about presents in September. I stay buying little things, once a week for stockings and star watching for sales.
With a new little one and a new niece on the way, can’t say we’ve done any planning!
I love decorating for the holidays!! I always look forward to the atmosphere behind around Christmas and Thanksgiving! Can’t wait to get started on Christmas cookies!
We’re having our holidays at home this year, it’s our first as parents, in this house. We usually have to start planning gifts about 2-3 months before, so to get them shipped overseas in time for the holidays.
I start shopping early!
I pick up Christmas gifts through out the year, any time I find something on sale. That way it spreads all that spending out and I get gifts while they are cheap!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Trying to get gifts for family members, one new nephew and another on the way in just a few months. Also enjoying time with our newest addition!
I try to be done with shopping before October. I almost always achieve that goal!
I don’t plan for holidays LOL. I usually do everything last minute. And my favorite nursing bra is a sports bra!
We love putting up the Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. My favorite nursing bra is the cheap one I found at Walmart.
I get ready for Christmas in the summer-whenever I see a great gift for someone on sale, I buy it and put it on a shelf for Christmas!
I keep my eyes open for Christmas presents yea rround!
I try to start planning for the holidays in September so I can have time to enjoy them with my family. I find that I’m doing more of my shopping online which saves me so much time!
My daughter just had a baby boy 2 months ago and her favorite nursing bra is Motherhood Maternity.
Just relaxing at home with the kids! We like Christmas Day to just be the 4 of us.
I loved my Medela Nursing Bras…when I still nursed!
For my family, the holidays are all about being together. We start planning what we’re going to eat and at who’s house right after Halloween. With 2 young kids it’s nice to have a plan laid out.
No holiday plans yet, but I will taking a full week off after Christmas. 🙂 I don’t have any fancy nursing bras…but I actually just prefer nursing tanks from Target.
we try to shop ahead of time!
We start shopping after Christmas clearance for next year’s gifts and shop deals all year long.
My favorite nursing bra has been a Glamourmoms nursing tank. All the bras I’ve bought have let me down… Literally & figuratively LOL!
Spending time with friends.
ive been planning ahead by making lists of who to buy for. I also have been writing down my sons “wants” all year. It’s tough for him to think of what he wants for Christmas from relatives on the spot, or he will always answer wanting the same toy.
I try to start shopping as far in advance as possible. I typically start buying and making stuff as soon as sales start after Christmas
We are participating in something called Christmas Different. It’s about giving relationally. So our children are getting passes to the zoo, art supplies to make a project, and my DH and I are getting a dinner and a movie date night. It’s about spending time together and enjoying the holiday, not spending tons of money on toys that will only be new and exciting for a few days.
To get a head start on the holidays, I make a meal plan, a to do list, an “ask others to bring” list, a count down in my calendar as well as meal prep planning in my calendar. It’s a ton of work having a big extended family but all the organization helps things go more smoothly.
I always try to plan ahead, but sometimes it doesn’t work. My favorite nursing bra is just a cheapo from Walmart. I also loved my Undercover Mama tank! I’d love to win the to share the love of Bumgenius with a friend! She really could use this!
I plan for the holidays by bargain hunting and shopping as the year progresses for things I know I will want.
I like to be looking for that special gift for each person throughout the year so i have the time and finances to!
I write out a list of things I want to accomplish by a certain date and stick to that. Don’t wait until the last minute!
It helps to start shopping during the Summer and even pin ideas to Pinerest as you hear people mention items they might like to have. For nursing, I loved my LilyPadz silicone reusable nursing pads.
I online shop and avoid the stores as much as possible. We also do a Pollyanna to decrease the amount of money spent and focus on getting together as a family.
We do gift exchanges to help keep cost down, and to focus more on family time so, gift buying is at a minimum for use.
I keep a running list on my phone of gifts I think would be perfect for them throughout the year as I think of them. That way I can purchase gifts throughout the year when there is a sale and I don’t get stuck at the last minute!
I plan using lists lists lists.
Start with the Holiday cards in November! One less thing to do once December 1st hits!
I try not to wait until the last minute to do the holiday shopping. Otherwise it can be a bit overwhelming.By getting a little bit along throughout the year, it helps to have it all done by Christmas. Also, I don’t wear a nursing bra. I was never able to find one that was comfortable AND supportive. So, I just wear a regular bra to nurse my 19 month old. 🙂 ♥
I hope this is where I was supposed to leave the blog post comment. Thank you for having this giveaway!
Our holiday plans are usually the same every year; I’m a sucker for tradition. With a new baby this year, though, everything is so much more exciting and meaningful! Can’t wait to spoil her, show her off, and spend the holidays with all of our loved ones.
I don’t really plan for the holidays, I just wing it and hope it all turns out ok! Lol
I’m preparing for the holidays by making a Pinterest board of all of the DIY gifts that I am going to make this year.
I try to just keep things simple and in perspective
Buying as I find things, not waiting till the end!
Would love to win a freetime! I need mirror!!!
I like getting a head start by catching end of season sales. And by premaking cakes, cookies, pies. 😉
I do breastfeed . I cant say i have a favorite nursing bra. I got some mothers maternity and they fell apart first wash. Lost clasp! So i went and got a convertible strapless . Best bra. Ever. Feeding accesory i would love to try the kiindle 🙂
I would love to win this to get a new diaper for my second baby just born last month!
I am yet to own a nursing bra or tank and I have been brestfeeding for six months.. I would love to find out what all the Luther nursing mamas favorite nursing like about there nursing bra.
I keep gift idea lists all year long, so by the time the holidays come around I already have a head start!
I plan for the holidays by trying to do my shopping as I see things that people would like… or at least making a note of them. I also love to shop online, and have things shipped directly to the recipient, especially if they’re in another state. Really saves on shipping costs!
We are hosting Thanksgiving this year at our house and then going up to my in laws for Christmas.
To get ready for holidays I plan meals ahead (look for sales). I ordered Christmas cards just need to get them addressed to send out right after thanksgiving. And usually go shopping thanksgiving weekend after picking names 🙂 this year we aren’t traveling which helps.
I cant wait to start using cloth on my soon to be born boy! Holidays are meant to be with family. I like to cook and make gifts.
I don’t do much to prepare for the holidays. I wait to see the black Friday deals. We do 1 thing you want, 1 thing you need, something to wear, and something to read. And as far as feeding goes I wear whatever as long as I can get my boob out ;p
I have a list in excel, each year has a tab, I keep track of what was spent and who we bought gifts for. I also keep track of what gifts I may have purchased earlier in the year for a person. Start shopping early!
Love your giveaways and love the holidays!!!
I like to do my shopping throughout the year. That helps me plan and keep December sane.
My biggest tip for getting a head start on the Holidays is buying gifts, decorations, crafting supplies, etc. throughout the year when they are on clearance. That way it is finished, I saved money, plus, I spread the expense out over the year instead of over just a few weeks.
Pick me! Choose me! Free time me!
I plan for the holidays by making a gift list early. Then I have plenty of time to shop around and wait for good deals so I don’t have to cram all the shopping in at the end.
I don’t use nursing bras, but I love just a simple cami under my everyday outfit.
shopping done before thanksgiving and focus on traditions
How do I plan for the holidays? This is my first Christmas being a mommy so, honestly, I will need to start planning more than I currently do. But I am a fan of the simplified holidays. It is not all about the gifts. It’s about Christ and family time. But I want to implement the four gift rule with our little one: one thing he wants, one thing he needs, one thing he can wear, and one thing he can read.
I start prepping the holidays by making a list of everything; what we want to do, what traditions are important, etc. & then start prioritizing. I have no method for any of it, just go with the flow. So excited to have our first thanksgiving & Christmas with our little guy!!!
We start Christmas decorating on the first Sunday of Advent. We go that saturday to a tree farm, cut the tree, and bring it home. We than always do some sort of hand print craft for grandparents and decorating the house. This yr the kids are giving pot holders with their hands that will say “Giving you a helping hand” and bottles of wine to grandpas with their feet! I try to start shopping right after Christmas for next Christmas so I get the great deals. I have been doing alot of shopping online this year since our closes mall is over an hr away! My husband just told me the other day that he loves the freetime diaper so will be looking for some more for our baby girl this Christmas. I love the nursing tank tops from target. They allow me the freedom to nurse and not feel like I am uncovering my stomach when I nursing public. Which is a great feeling since I am a pastor and always need to be decent!
This year I created a board on Pinterest to throw things my daughter was interested in onto. Then I kept an eye out for sales in those things. I am not done yet, but hope to be by the end of the month as baby #2 is expected around Christmas! (he could def use some new Freetimes as that is all we use here!)
I try to get my shopping done early, but this is my 1st Christmas post baby (and he turns 1 on 12/20) so I’m pretty sure I’m gonna be behind this year 😉
Honestly, my family has been financially tight for the last few years that the holidays have mainly been about getting together and eating rather than exchanging gifts. Only the babies of the family have been getting presents. This year, my goal is to get my toddler a wodden balance bike!
I am still nursing my 16 month old, and since he was born have been living in Two Hearts Maternity Nursing tank tops, which is crazy because prior to giving birth I lived in underwire bras. Now, it’s all about ease of nursing.
We are starting the holidays very early as I due with my first child around Thanksgiving. I have a feeling I won’t be up for much shopping and festivities so we are try to get that all done sooner rather than later. Stock piling is key.
We try and buy throughout the year if we can (or at least starting in Aug if not when the birthdays start)– and do a little something for each kid– and that way get free shipping. We emptied our gift closet last christmas. I got some deal/steals in Feb. through disney for $1 stuffed animals and took advantage of that so we gave those out for birthdays…
