Thursday Giveaway: Nursing Essentials
October 29, 2014 6:42 pm | by
10001540_10152749569954816_413091784_nChoosing to breast or formula feed is one of the first decisions you will make as a new parent. Each option provides different benefits for every family, but both have one thing in common — it’s hard work.

Breastfeeding is declared the most economical way to feed your baby because it requires little to few supplies. But for any breastfeeding mom, there are two accessories that are absolutely vital: nursing tank tops and reusable nursing pads. The MilkDaze Nursing Cami makes breastfeeding easier. The front layer conveniently and discretely pulls aside to expose the nipple and then snaps back into place without clips or hardware, allowing you to feed your little one anytime, anywhere. Milkdaze Nursing Pads are created with a stay-dry fabric lining to wick moisture away from your skin, which will inhibit the growth of bacteria that can lead to infection.  The weight of your breast helps to keep the nursing pad in place and the teardrop shape keeps pads hidden under clothing.

For today’s giveaway, three people have the chance to win a MilkDaze Nursing Cami and a set of MilkDaze Nursing Pads to get you started with breastfeeding! All you have to do is share your favorite feeding tip for babies. You can also tell us your favorite nursing bra and, if you do not breastfeed, state which feeding accessory you love or check out our feeding category and comment with what you want to try once your little one arrives.

my best breastfeeding tip is keep trying…it’s not easy but most mommies and babies can learn to breastfeed.

If it hurts a LOT, that’s not normal. Push to see the LC at the hospital for more than 2 minutes (assuming you had a hospital birth), and get that latch right!

Feed on demand. So far I have found that the Motherhood Maternity tanks work the best, for me!

Make sure to get support in your early days! I love my Bravado bras, but this would be fun to try too!

It’s not east a first, but perseverance is the key. Get involved with your local La Leche League, find a local lactation consultant and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Also non-stop nursing at the beginning is normal.
They only nursing bras I have are the ones from Target, not the greatest but get the job done.

Find what works best for you and baby! I read so many different opinions I was so confused and stressed out. I finally quit reading, prayed for wisdom and enjoyed mothering so much more!! It’s s blessing not a burden

My tip would be feed when baby wants to eat. Don’t try to make a schedule. Baby will eat when they are hungry!

My best tip is to feed on demand not on a schedule and use a baby carrier. You can breastfeed with a carrier and no one will know and no lugging strollers around.

nursing was a challenge for us. my baby never burped so i never knew if she was hungry or her belly was sore from not burping…. i LOVED nursing tanktops…. lived in them. more comfy for me than a bra.

I’m a new mom, so not very experienced yet, but the best tip I’ve learned is to feed my baby before he gets too hungry, otherwise he gets too upset to eat

My favorite nursing bra is pretty much any sports bra. They are easy to pull up and over, easier to resecure, fit the same whether I am full or empty, and far less expensive than any nursing bra (I did buy several at $50+/bra).

I’m not a mom yet… one more month! But I’m definitely planning on breastfeeding. Once I was pregnant and needed new bras, I picked up a couple of nursing bras from Target. So far, so good… we’ll see how they do when it’s actually time to nurse!

My favorite feeding tip.. RELAX!! With my first baby I was an exclusive pumper, there was so much pressure to produce in the beginning and I really struggled. It was not until I decided to stop worrying about how much I was producing and just be content that I was able to get anything at all that I really saw results. That change in attitude made all the difference!

My biggest tip, especially for breast feeding is to find a network of support. Whether it be family, friends, or a Llactation Consultant, support is crucial to bring successful. My favorite nursing bra is APea in the Pod wireless.

My nursing tip is to seek out a lactation consultant that you click with – the one at the hospital didn’t work for us but our pediatrician keeps one on staff. She is a fantastic resource. And ask for help. Repeatedly. If you need it you have to ask for it.

Find a comfy position for breastfeeding baby. It may not be the traditional cradle hold, so try a few to see which one works best.

I have been breastfeeding for 2 months now. I have 2 toddlers so it can get pretty stressful when baby gets hungry out in public, specifically at stores. I have found that nursing in the toys section, using just a swaddle blanket for cover, works very well for us. The 2 toddlers are distracted by toys so I can feed without chasing them everywhere. For nursing pads, I have been using bamboobies and love them so much that I bought some for my sister who is expecting any day now.
