I have five kiddos and one on the way…. daddy worked hard at his job; and I baked a small Turkey and made all the fixings for us.. we sat at the table and prayed and thanked God for all of the gifts and blessings he has provided to us. To add extra joy we received some cloth diapers today and ordered those fabulous flip diapers! So blessed to be able to get back into cloth diapering!!!

I spent most of the day at my parents and then came home to cook our first Thanksgiving at our new apartment! While my husband and oldest child were putting up the tree I was cooking and my 18 month old got in the trash and sliced his finger on a can lid and we ended up in the ER getting him 3 stitches and glue! : /

Our day started with washing diapers for our 11 month old triplets. Had some serious poop that had to be washed before we could get the turkey started. More importantly, we were together. My husband was home from his duty station that is 300 miles away. He flew home last night to surprise our 3 yr old. Perfect day for the Davis Triplets first Thanksgiving.

This year I spent Thanksgiving with my little girls. My Husband is a detective for the police dept. here in south Florida. He got called in to work. Although it was sad we didn’t get to spend it with him, I got to enjoy my miracle baby. My baby, who will be 1 in 4 days, was born with a congenital heart defect. She spent the first 3 months of her life in the CICU and had open heart surgery. So, no moment is taken for granted. Though we may not get certain holiday’s together since my husband has to protect the city, every day is a day we are grateful our baby is alive. We are blessed with 2 beautiful girls and everyday is a blessing.

This has been our first Thanksgiving together as a family which means so much to us! We are both hundreds of miles away from our families because of where we are stationed so we decided to do the next best thing and had our friends go around and round up all the soldiers that had no where to go for dinner and bring them to our house. We made a huge non traditional spread, pretty much exactly what everyone was craving, I made( or attempted to make, lol.) It was so much fun to be surrounded by so much postivity and to be able to make a couple soldiers days that would have otherwise spent it alone. I love our home away from home. 🙂

My thanksgiving was spent with my mom for the first time in 10 years!! It was my first Thanksgiving as a parent and I now have such a different perspective on life. I am so thankful for my wonderful husband and our beautiful daughter. Because it was her first Thanksgiving, and she has been taking some solids for almost a month, we decided to give her a taste of turkey puree. She hated it! So we mixed in some sweet potatoes (she had them before)… Still a no go. But she sure chowed down on the banana we gave her to make up for the “yucky” food we gave her. It was priceless and fills my heart with joy to think about all the firsts to come.

My hubby, mom, and step-dad all took part of the cooking while the littles watched the Macy’s parade. When it was time to eat, we sat and prayed for all that we were thankful for. We spent our Thanksgiving with my husband’s family and started a new tradition this year where we remembered someone that has passed and blew bubbles then someone we are thankful for in the present and did the same. It was cool! Also getting ready to celebrate my little boys 1st birthday this weekend!

Thanksgiving 2014 is the second year I have been able to spend with my husband and his family! But it is the first year we have been able to spend with our son, Braidyn! We started our thanksgiving morning just like any other day; wake up and feed the baby, change is nappie (we chose a cute little orange aio to match his outfit) try to sneak in a shower, and feed the baby again while daddy packs the diaper bag. Finally after loading the car up and making sure we have the pies, we are on our way to my mother in laws house! We were the only ones to come because literally all of our other family lives out of state. I could smell the turkey cooking as soon as we pulled up! Yum! As my mother in law is cooing all over my son, we are helping cook. I swear we made enough food to eat for a year! We watched the parade and spent some amazing quality family time together. At last! It’s time to eat! Turkey, ham, green bean casserole, macaroni casserole, yams, I barely had enough room on my plate to get a bite of everything! Unfortunately, we had to leave shortly after dessert because my husband had to work. Boo! All in all, we had a great time connecting with family and spending time together!

As a spouse of a law enforcement officer, we are thankful for the holidays when daddy is home… this sadly was not one of them. However, it’s all about making the best out of everything! We recently made a huge move across the country to be closer to family, so we spent the day visiting with people that we would never have had the privilege of doing when we lived far away. It was so nice to be out visiting and enjoying delicious home-cooked treats! I am so incredibly thankful this year: for a move closer to family, our beautiful baby girl, and for each other!

My family spent Thanksgiving hosting! This was my first thanksgiving to cook everything alone and I think it was a success. My husband, my daughter, myself, and 3 single soldiers who are in my husbands platoon are stuffed! On the menu was a 15 pound turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, and of course candied yams! Pumpkin pie will be served here shortly to the ones who haven’t already dug in! We are so thankful to be having guests over tonight. Happy Thanksgiving Cotton Babies team!
