My mother in law gave me a little glass cat figurine with another kitten inside. It was given to her by her mother in law when she was pregnant with my husband. It’s so special to me.

We were going through a hard time being teen parents, but then my husband had to get his appendix removed and couldn’t work. Everybody helped and showed support, but I mostly remember how a couple left money at my husbands hospital bedstand. They didnt give it directly because they knew we would refuse. That stuck with me

My husband and I had talked about starting a vinyl record collection back when we were dating. Then years later on my birthday he bought me a few to start the collection. They were albums he grew up listening to and thought I would like too. 🙂

Last year was pretty rough and the car broke (our only car)before Christmas and I needed oral Surgery my father gave me some cash despite the fact my stepmother hates him spending money on me or my kids. The money helped make ends meet and he probably got a lot of guff for it. So it was really thoughtful.

The most thoughtful gift I’ve gotten this year for Hanukkah was a book from my husband – his inscription took up almost two whole pages as he described how we had first met and bonded over a book that had been really important to us (that we’d happen to have read in common), and how he wanted to now read this new book together. It was amazing to be pulled back in time to when we’d first met and clicked!

The most thoughtful gift I have received was last Christmas when I was still pregnant, my step mom and my dad got my husband and I a basket filled with things for our daughter who wasn’t here yet. A rubber ducky, towel set, ornament with her initial on it, photo frame, and a few other goodies. It was very unexpected and are so thankful. We still use most of what was in that basket on a daily basis and our daughter is 9 months old now.

Just last week, at the grocery store, my daughter picked up a xylophone they had on sale in the front. No matter how calmly I tried to explain to her that we couldn’t afford it this week, and that maybe Santa would get it for her, she was still so heartbroken. The lady behind was such an angel and purchased it, then chased us down in the cart lobby to tell my daughter and I Merry Christmas! Absolutely made my whole year seeing my daughters eyes light up and the kindness of strangers.

this past year, a couple at our church GAVE US one of their cars for free. it was super humbling as my husband and I don’t have a lot of money and our other car we drove was literally held together by duct tape. we don’t have any family in our state so our church family means so much to us and it was a huge blessing.

A few years ago I was going through an emotionally difficult time during the Christmas season. I was able to see my family for a short time. My dad handed me a card that had been signed by several people from the church I grew up in telling me they were thinking of me and praying for me. I know my dad bought the card and asked people to sign it. It wasn’t much, but it reminded me that I was loved.

The most thoughtful gesture I have received is when I emergently delivered my daughter the same weekend we were supposed to move. While I was in the hospital, I was “babysat” by a rotating list of family, while the rest of them descended on our former house and new home so that I could come home to my new house with my new baby. They painted, cleaned, and packed and unpacked. I will never be able to thank them enough.

I think the best present like an actual item someone has gotten me has come from my dad…he traded one of his motorcycles for a guitar and amp set up for me for my 16th birthday! I HAD to have one…even though i never FULLy learned to play it I still play simple songs and have it set up in the basement on display. I couldn’t believe he got me one and that he gave up a bike for it!!!!

The most meaningful gift I ever received was after my Aunt passed away.
She was my favorite person growing up and was my role model. When I was a child I had these tiny plastic toy pig and piglet toys that I always played with. We would always play with these together. When I stopped playing with them she apparently kept them.
When she passed away the hospital staff surrendered her purse to us and inside I found the little plastic pig and piglets in a little container with a note letting me know they were for me.
I ugly cried. These toys from my childhood held such fond memories shared between only me and my Aunt. Her giving them to me when she passed was so special. I still have them and think of her daily when I se them.

Two Christmases ago my husband came home from were he was stationed at. We went out to eat after I picked him up from the airport with our daughter and he was still in uniform. Apparently a couple had given the waiter $50 to cover our meal to thank my husband for his service in the Navy. They left before we could thank them and we didn’t know who they were. It was such a kind and thoughtful gesture. It trut put us in a great mood for the rest of the season!
