Tuesday Giveaway: Real Diaper Week!
April 17, 2012 1:28 pm | by

One of the many reasons that parents may choose to cloth diaper their baby is to reduce waste and help the environment. We know that with each cloth diaper you change instead of a disposable, you prevent landfill waste, but exactly how much is saved every day from local landfills?

Last year, we introduced the Change 3 Things challenge. We asked parents and caregivers to change at least 3 cloth diapers a day instead of disposables. We set up a Facebook page to track the progress and even have a form available on the website so you can report exactly how many cloth diapers you change each day.

With more than 14,600 fans this morning, we estimate that more than 43,800 disposable diapers will be saved from landfills today alone! And that doesn’t even count those who change more than 3 cloth diapers each day or the cloth diapering parents who may not be on Facebook.

To learn more about the Change 3 Things challenge, visit our Facebook page or find more details in our introductory blog post.

To help you spread the love of cloth diapers with your friends, today’s giveaway includes a Change 3 Things t-shirt, a Change 3 Things silicone band and a bumGenius Freetime cloth diaper. To make things even better, we’ll send you TWO of each of the prizes, one to keep for yourself and one to give to a friend interested in cloth diapering.

To enter, just tell us how many cloth diapers you change each day and each week. Expecting or adopting? Tell us if you plan to part time or full time cloth diaper. There’s no wrong answer! Check the widget below for bonus entry opportunities.

Is there not a widget this time? One isn’t popping up for me.

I change 8 or 9 diapers a day for my sweet 5 month old boy. I’m guessing around 60 diapers a week? He is our first and have been cloth diapering since his stump fell off and he fit into his 4.0’s – about 3 weeks. We plan on keeping all of our kids in cloth – and BumGenius!

We usually change about 8-9 diapers a day which results in about 56 to 63 diapers a week. Wow! We started cloth diapering when he was about 3 weeks old and plan on clothing diapering any future kids.

My 14 month old goes through 6-8 diapers a day, all of which are either Flips, BG, or Indian PFs and thirsties/ Bummis covers, so about 55 dipes a week. We have been CDing full time since she was about 5 weeks old. We will also be CDing our next and last child whenever we are blessed with him/her.

Usually 6-7 per day, so about 50 diapers changed per week! I never thought about how much that was before, wow!

We do about 8 per day, 7 on the 2 month old and 1 at night for the 2 year old ( day time potty trained ) so that is 56 per week. We do cloth full time- but using up the infant dispo at night.

I usually average around 12-16 per day between my 24 mo. old and my 11 mo. old girls. But today my LO had the runs from a new food and I don’t even know how many but I ran out of prefolds for my first time ever! Not good. Now I know what people are talking about when they say they’ve had to be creative. lol =)

Well, I’m new on this journey so I change 2-3 CD’s per day but hoping to increase my stash so I can switch to cloth full time.

We change about 5-7 diapers a day for our 8 month old. We cloth diaper full time. I also work full time so I’m working on getting a larger stash b/c the reality is that I can’t always find the time to wash every 2-3 days. I need at least 35 diapers for the week.

I change 5-8 cloth diapers a day, 35-56 a week! Switching to cloth last year was the best decision. It is easy and the fluffy bums are so cute.

Between my two boys, I change about 12-14 cloth diapers per day. That’s over 80 diapers per week! I’m also planning on cloth diapering #3 when he/she arrives in September. Lots of diapers in my future 🙂

I would say we change 8 to 10 diapers per day for our six-month old. 4 of those being at daycare, but they are using cloth as well. 🙂

I change 5-7 dipes a day for my 2 year old, who poops in the toilet and is working on potty learning. I plan on exclusively CDing my baby on the way (in July).
