Warehouse Roulette – Leaky Banana!
May 17, 2012 5:30 am | by

I’ve been bugged by Jenn and others to write posts on the blog for a long time, but I didn’t want to have to figure out what to write about while staying somewhat on topic. So the obvious solution was to write about random things in the warehouse. Warehouse Roulette! To make it fun and very random, I put all of the warehouse locations in a box, mix it up and draw a location. I could just pick things, but then it wouldn’t really be random. Someday I’ll write about the tree frogs that stick to the doors at night

Cloth 201: Traveling? Don’t forget the dirty diapers!
May 14, 2012 2:47 pm | by

A few weeks ago, our car started smelling really weird. At first, I ignored it because really, when does a car carrying two toddlers smell GOOD? But eventually we broke down and did a full-car clean out. What did we find in the back hatch area of our car? A slightly wet cloth diaper! Fortunately, it was only wet and not solid waste. Can you imagine if had been poop? I can guarantee that we would have found it sooner! Keeping up with diapers and wet bags is just another mom duty that comes along with cloth diapering. Even the

Warehouse Roulette – Carnage on the Counter

I’ve been bugged by Jenn and others to write posts on the blog for a long time, but I didn’t want to have to figure out what to write about while staying somewhat on topic. So the obvious solution was to write about random things in the warehouse. What will it be this week, no one knows! Warehouse roulette! To make it fun and very random, I put all of the warehouse locations in a box, mixed it up, mixed it up some more, changed my mind, mixed it up some more counter clockwise with a spork and drew a

To make it fun and very random, I put all of the warehouse locations in a box, mixed it up and drew a location.   This location really could be anything. It’s one of the areas where we park incoming pallets that act like in-laws. Sometimes it’s a short stay,

Cloth Diapers and Mud

Cloth Diaper Creams

Now that spring has sprung (for most of us), it’s time to get outside and really enjoy the warmer weather. Unfortunately, spring often brings rain along with the warmer weather. And at least in my backyard, rain = mud. Some people don’t like letting their kids play in the mud- and it can be a little overwhelming, it terms of mess. But there are things we can do to make clean up easier on ourselves. For my older kids, who are (somewhat) less inclined to really roll in the mud, I usually just let them go as long as they

Such pretty boxes! In the effort of

Spring cleaning for cloth diapers

Cloth Diaper Creams

Ahh, spring cleaning. The time of year when you find all those little nooks and crannies in your home that have been ignored all winter long and give them a good cleaning. It’s also a great time to do the same for your cloth diapers. Did you know there are some hidden areas of your cloth diapers that may need a little extra TLC every so often?   Cloth diapers are generally worn every other day and washed 3-4 times a week, depending on the size of your stash. If you have hook and loop closures, this allows opportunities for

So you had your kids, they used the cloth diapers, and now everyone’s in college (or kindergarten, or preschool, or whatever) and those diapers are not getting used anymore. What are you supposed to do with what you have left? Some people use cloth diapers with the express intent to resell the diapers when they’re done using them. And that’s definitely an option. But not the only one! Lending/giving diapers to friends is another way to go. A good portion of our tiny newborn diapers have been lent out to friends. In 2010, I was due with my youngest and

Why I LOVE Babywearing
March 21, 2012 2:18 pm | by

I bought my first pouch sling at a farmer’s market in Salt Lake City when Addie was about six months old. I was wandering around wearing her in some awful strap and clip contraption when I saw a mannequin wearing the sling. I asked if I could try it and as soon as Addie’s round little rump took a seat in the sling, I handed over my money and never looked back. Since I discovered babywearing so late with Addie, I couldn’t wait for the day that I could wear a tiny little newborn. I never tried any other sling
