Warehouse Roulette – I Peed
April 19, 2012 5:37 am | by

I’ve been bugged by Jenn and others to write posts on the blog for a long time, but I didn’t want to have to figure out what to write about while staying somewhat on topic. So the obvious solution was to write about random things in the warehouse. Warehouse roulette! To make it fun and very random, I put all of the warehouse locations in a box, mixed it up and drew a location.

And what a lovely location it is. It’s a shelf full of Flip Training Pants! Oh la la! Such pretty boxes! In the effort of full disclosure like last week’s confirmation/revelation that I’m a guy, I have to mention we make Flip, so I’m probably a little biased. Aren’t those the best looking boxes evar?! And the little cutie on the front playing in wthe potty? Adooorable!

Actually, I am a lot biased. The cutie on the front is our very own little Elsie. She was extra cute during the photo shoot and cooperated in the bathroom. If it was one of the boys, they probably would have been unrolling the toilet paper into the potty. And it would be even more extra fun if it was one of the super mega ultra rolls of toilet paper. Toilet paper rolling technology is amazing. It’s incredible how much more toilet paper can be wound on a roll today. It’s even more incredible fishing a brand new super mega ultra roll out of the toilet. They are heavy! Add it to the bucket list, you should try it someday.

The boxes are really pretty. Lovely four color printing with some spot colors thrown in for good measure. The box says there are 5 organic cotton pads and one training pant cover. Why did we go with organic cotton? Because we wanted something organic and something cotton and thought, hey, maybe organic cotton is what we’re looking for. Lo and behold, it was! The organic cotton also provides a few important features – it’s thin, absorbent and wet. Wet? Yup. Unlike babies who make us cross-eyed with the crying and fussing over this strange new feeling called wet, potty training aged kiddos know what wet is and it’s no fun to run around in it. So maybe… if they get tired of the icky wet feeling, they’ll stop getting distracted by every little thing on the way to the potty while whimpering and (physically) holding it in.

Focus… we’re going to the bathroom.

You’re going to pop like a water balloon.

No, stop, you don’t need those animals, we’re going to the potty.

Really, now, to the bathroom.

No, don’t play with the toys in the bathtub, you need to sit on the potty to…

I peed!

Sigh…

Maybe next time…

Which is why there are multiple pads in the box, so they (you) can try again.

There isn’t anything else too exciting to mention on the box. The training pants have our 3×3 snap down on the front to fit a wide range of kiddos. The stretchy side panels also have a second set of snaps for a larger waist. There’s a UPC code on the bottom and pretty leafy things on the sides. Yay!

So now what? I’m done, and this seems a little too normal. Other potty tips? Like… encourage your kiddos to make sure they are actually over the edge of the potty before releasing a chocolate avalanche. It doesn’t work out so well for either party if they are sitting on the front of the seat and not scootched far enough back. And… two/three year olds don’t have proper toilet paper management skills yet. Don’t leave them unsupervised while they “finish”. It takes a lot effort to plunger down a half roll of paper for a pee that required two squares to polish things off.

If you’ve reached the potty training stage and disposable pull-ups are too diaper-y and don’t convey a sense of oops, try one of our Flip Training Pants. They are the best thing evar.

@ Anonymous, Some of the other retailers do, you just have to ask around.

Sell the trainer shells by themselves, or with just one or two inserts, PLEASE!!! I hate that I have so many inserts that I will never use, but I had to buy them to get the three shells that I use…. 🙁

SEE, I’m a single mom and my plunger skills are nil so I wised up a LONG time ago and, gasp, REMOVED that dang paper and put it up high. So simple, but no one likes it for some reason. Go figure? My youngest just turned 2 and normally I wait longer (thank you for a larger size) before potty training but this rash will not go away and maybe it’s what she needs……we’ll see, but she’s gonna look cute on the bus when it happens no matter what!

I liked that review. Now I just wish I had known about FLIP trainers before my daughter potty trained. Oh well, daughter#2 is still a baby, we’ll give them a try with round 2.
