We’re expecting our first in less than seven weeks, crazy how time flies. My brother and sister-in-law have gotten my husband and I hooked on the idea of cloth diapering. The fancy colors, fun designs, and ease of diaper changing caught my attention, and the cost-savings and eco-friendliness caught my husbands! With a summer baby on the way, I plan to let it hang out and show off her fabulous style, since her mother has none! After that, let the money (savings) talk 🙂 So excited for this journey! (Nervous, of course, too, but not about the diapers!)

I plan to give cloth diapers as shower gifts. My cousin has expressed interest in using cloth, so I want to give her a sprayer, spray pal and some diapers. I would have loved that gift for my shower!!!

I have posted so many pictures of my stash. I do not know how people wouldn’t want to cloth diaper with how cute they are! I have also been telling everyone I know that I am cding with lo 2.0. I have been also telling people stats. Yes, I may pay 15 dollars for a diaper, but I buy 24 of those diapers and bam I am done. I will spend 360 bucks. You will spend that much using sposies in 3 months. Worried about the extea work? It’s one more load of laundry every other day. I can honestly say no matter how sleep deprived I was with lo 1.0, I never had a problem putting laundry in the washer. Putting it up is a different story. I have had this conversation a few times. Can you tell? haha

I have mostly friends who are going to start trying for kids in a year or two. I change the diapers right around them and talk about them. I always tell them to at least buy a few cloth diapers to see if they like them, even if they are planning to do sposies.

I tell him how my baby doesn’t get rashes or reactions to the diapers. I show them how simple cloth is nowadays. And then I make them into cloth diapering addicts. lol. So evil but so good.

We attended the Great Cloth Diaper Change today, to raise awareness of how easy (and great for your wallet, your baby’s health and the environment) it is. I’ve also offered my Newborn Stash of cloth diapers (and advice /support) to a friend who is expecting that is thinking about cloth diaper but was a bit unsure about the upfront costs.

I have actually gotten 3 people interested in cloth and plan to get more into it. It is a great subject to talk about with new friends. Honestly just posting cute bum shots of my little guy in cloth ok FB tweaks interest from many. It’s hard to resist a baby with a cute bum! I encourage cloth because it’s so much cheaper and it’s so easy to get into a routine with cloth. 🙂

I have been telling a friend (due in July) at work about how surprisingly positive our cloth diaper experience has been (and how even my husband loves it!). I’ve brought in a few of our favorite diapers for her to see and feel, and offered to help her research/select some diaper styles. I plan on refering her to the cloth diaper expert and owner of a small business in our area that primarily sells cloth diapers and accessories, for her registry!

  • Jessica said...

I would be sure to point out that cloth is more affordable, healthier, and better for the environment. Since I’ve never tried them myself, that’s all I can say! And they’re all reasons I plan to use them when this baby is born.
