‘Tis the season — to be thankful for cloth diapers.
I’ve been pinching my pennies for the last few weeks so I can afford to purchase holiday gifts for my friends and family. Lately, I’ve been going out to eat less frequently, spending a few more nights at home, and budgeting better.
This is a way of life for some parents. Raising a child is expensive and cutting a few corners can go a long way in saving a few extra bucks. When you use cloth diapers, you never have to worry about purchasing disposables. You will always have diapers available and do not have to have to add this expense into your budget.
For this week’s giveaway, we want to know why you’re thankful for cloth diapers and how they’ve helped your family. Two people will win a bumGenius, Flip or Econobum diaper of their choice.
To enter, tell us in the comment section below.
Eligible entries must be posted no later than midnight Eastern time, Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013. U.S. residents only. Void where prohibited by law. No purchase necessary to win. Winners will be drawn after the close of the contest and notified via email. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook. I am thankful because we save money and the environment.
I’m thankful they’re comfortable for baby & save money!
I am incredibly thankful for cloth diapers! We recently switched and between our two daughters, the switch to cloth will save us about $5,000 a year! That savings is going into our “home savings” fund. We really need to buy our first home and by this time next year, thanks to cloth diapering, we will be $5,000 closer!
They have saved our family so much money! We can budget without having to factor diapers which makes life much easier.
I am thankful for cloth diapers because with all the money we save not having to buy disposables, I am able to buy more organic food and healthier toiletries for my family
I am thankful for cloth diapers because they have really helped me save money for my family!
I am thankful for another way to reduce waste going in to our landfills. I try to avoid any “use it once and throw it away” kind of products whenever possible and I am so happy that cloth diapering is an option.
I’m thankful for my cloth diapers because our budget is really tight and I’m so grateful that we don’t have to find room in our budget for disposables. I know that in an emergency I’d still be able to diaper my baby. I’m also grateful for the health benefits to my child and for the friends I’ve made being a cloth-diapering mama!
It saves us so much money!!
I am thankful for cloth diapers for giving me a way to diaper my baby without filling up a landfill with trash, also I am thankful that cloth diapers allow me to have only cotton and other natural materials against my baby’s skin!
I am thankful for cloth diapers because they’re easy on my babies skin. I am very fortunate to have gotten almost all of our diapers cheap or free, which has made it affordable. With another baby due in two weeks we don’t have to buy any diapers!! All things to be thankful for 🙂
I’m so thankful for the durability of cloth diapers. The diapers we bought 13 years ago are still serving us for our newest baby! Never did I imagine they would hold up so long. We are just now replacing some of our stash as they are showing their age. What has touched me most, however, is using my grandmother’s flats. She passed a few years ago and as the family was sorting through the boxes of memories she left behind, they found the cloth diapers that she packed away after her diapering days were over. I feel such a sweet connection with her when I use them on my newborn. I’m sure they will not last to diaper another baby, but the time now is very sweet and healing.
I am thankful for cloth diapers because I just lost my job and although I started cloth for environmental & cuteness reasons, I am now also experiencing the financial reasons. We have made cuts in other places already but don’t need to worry about diapers.
I’m thankful for these characteristics of cloth diapers: super cuteness!, cost savings & not having to run out to a big box store when diapers are low (it’s usually having to run to the laundry room bc they’re not folded!!).
Sometimes I feel like I’m at the grocery store or another store every day of the week! Thanks to our cloth diapers and wipes, I’ve never had to do a last-minute or late-night diaper shopping trip! I would much rather throw in a load of diaper laundry and relax on the sofa than have to make a trip out . Every few days my husband I sit on the bed together and catch up while we sort a big basket of cloth diaper laundry. As precious as our free time is these days, I am very thankful for every minute of quality time I can spend with my family. Cloth diapers certainly help!
My husband has Multiple Sclerosis and my 10 year old daughter is a three year cancer survivor. Needless to say, we go to a lot of doctors appointments. Having my 16 month old daughter in cloth diapers helps SO much. We have to stay in a hotel for two days. This is because all the testing won’t fit in one day! So all the savings from cloth diapering goes into trips to the doctor for both my husband and older daughter.
because with #2 on the way and #1 still in diapers they’re gonna save me a lot of money. plus we have to pay for trash down at the dump by weight/burn it ourselves (papergoods) so its already saved me a ton,… pee weighs a lot! 🙂
I’m thankful for cloth diapers because my kids get cute, soft cotton against their skin instead of chemicals and paper. I’m thankful that I just need to put up a load of laundry if I’m low on diapers.
Because they are cute, better for the environment and my baby boy doesn’t get diaper rash like he does with disposables.
I’m thankful for cloth diapers because not only do I not have to buy disposables, but I can also feel good about what I’m putting on my baby’s bottom and I’m helping the environment. I’ve also been able to encourage others to give it a try too!
I am thankful for cloth diapers because they do save us money!
My family is thankful for cloth diapering because it has eliminated that negative connotation to diapering your child from newborn until potty trained, as well as the expense that is so dreaded by many. I’m a SAHM and have been very thankful for over a year to be able to cloth diaper our son exclusively. We are so enthusiastic about cloth diapers that we hand wash them and fan dry them on a drying rack. Cloth diapering is universal and can work for all different types of families. On – the – go, stay at home or working parents. There are systems that work for all. It’s the best option for diapering your child and we are blessed to cloth diaper and help others who are just starting out. And for those reasons, I am very thankful 🙂
Cloth diapering has really cut down the amount of money we will spend monthly. Our “diaper money” goes into a savings account for our sons’ futures. My older son had such terrible diaper rashes no matter what I tried, so we decided to try cloth diapering with our second child. It has been such a game changer for us.
I am thankful for how much money cloth diapers has saved me and will continue to save me through child #3 that is on the way. What a relief to know that I pretty much already have all of the diapers I will need for this baby and how much money it will save us!
I am thankful that cloth diapering has saved me lots of money and that I don’t have to make midnight runs to the store because we’ve run out of disposables!
Cloth diapers saved us when my middle child was suffering from rash due to sensitive skin/disposable diapers. We’ve used those same diapers on another child, our newborn diapers have diapered 5 babies, and we’ve saved loads of money. It was a struggle to buy them initially but was a huge blessing to our budget. In the end, I now have my dream job thanks to cloth diapers!
I am thankful for cloth diapers because they have helped make it possible to still put food on the table and toilet paper I the bathroom.
Cloth diapers have been a huge help for our family. We didn’t anticipate the first year of our first child would be one of the most financially difficult times in our marriage this far- and not even because of adding our son to the family. It’s been a huge money saver!
I’m thankful for the money we save by cloth diapering. That was the reason we switched to cloth 3 years ago. Now, well into CDing our second child, I cannot imagine using disposables again. Even my husband is on the cloth bandwagon. He calls disposables “fake diapers” lol
When our oldest was born I was working but my husband wasn’t, I had been on bed rest for 2 weeks before she was born and didn’t have paid time off. We were gifted a few cloth diapers and out of desperation for a cheap solution we tried them and fell in love after the first would have been blow out diaper. Over the last 3.5 years we have gone through off and on again times of my husband being employed. Cloth diapers kept us from a lot of added stress when it came to times the budget wasn’t adding up, at least we didn’t have to buy diapers too. We’re expecting our 3rd child with #2 still in diapers and still looking at a super tight budget. We can be thankful for our growing family rather than stressed by added expenses this time around.
Cloth diapers have helped me save money.
I am thankful for the cloth diapers as it has allowed our family to make purchases in other areas of life.
I am thankful for cloth diapers because as a single mom with very little income and no help from the father or my family it was difficult to provide everything my daughter needed when I was spending $45-90 a month on disposables. I was literally throwing money away. I had about $20 left every month after getting diapers, food, and wipes. So I decided to start putting that $20 to the side each month to buy a few cloth diapers to give them a try. Now we are fully cloth diapered during the day and disposables at night due to leaking issues. If it wasn’t for cloth diapers I wouldn’t able to support my daughter and make sure she has everything she needs.

We have saved so much money.
With twin babies we love using cloth diapers because it has saved us so much money every month and continues to do so. My husband is in school getting his MDiv and I am home full time with our one year old twins. We are pretty much living on loans so every cent we can save matters and makes a huge impact. Thanks Cotton Babies!!!
I am thankful for the money they save our family and for the fact that the task/chore that most parents dread, I enjoy and find to be very rewarding!!
So thankful about how much money they’ve saved us!
Bc they, are good for environment & were a huge money saver when we had 2 in diapers! And they’re adorable!!
I’m thankful for cloth diapers because my husband is not working right now because of a recent back surgery. Our income is greatly reduced and it’s nice to know that we will never run out of diapers.
The only thing I am thankful for is no longer dealing with the allergic rash.
I am thankful for my cloth because I have been out if work for 3 weeks and would not have been able to afford disposables. Having my cloth means I will always be able to diaper my child whatever finances look like.
Cloth diapers have helped our family by keeping the baby rash free. Anytime we use a disposal he ends up with a bad rash 🙁
I’m thankful for cloth diapers because it means I don’t have to toss disposables in a landfill … And my children’s future will benefit from that.
After my husband lost his job and we’ve had to move to find jobs, cloth diapering allowed us to provide for our son when we didn’t have much money. Thank you cotton babies!
When I was pregnant with my son I wanted to try cloth diapers. Simply because I wanted to do something that was both economical and environmental. When i did the research the upfront costs deterred me. When my son was born we used disposables but they leaked. He would wake up with his whole stomach wet but the diaper would be rather dry. It was so annoying so I revisited the cloth diaper idea. We went through many brands but cottonbabies were the only one that didn’t leak and i loved the ease of the all-in-ones. It’s nice to know that although my son goes to bed with a badonk-a-donk every night both he and the sheets will be dry come morning!
with a surprise 5th baby an already super stretched to the max budget cloth diapers have become a way of life.we don’t ever get to eat out and I can’t even afford gifts for my kids this year never mind friends and other family members. my husband works so hard and it is still not enough. plus I babysit to help but neither of us make enough money to cover all of our bills every month.
I am thankful for cloth diapers because they allow us to diaper our daughter in a way that is healthy for both her and the environment…and it saves us money too!
I’m thankful that we are able to be more environmentally conscious.
I’m thankful that they can be handed down, that has saved me a bunch of money for sure!
I never have to worry about affording diapers no matter how many kids I have.
Im thankful to my BGs particularly with the savings we have while using cloth diaper. We dont need to buy disposables every now and then. Plus, the confidence that my baby will not get rashes and will not be irritated because she’s wearing a cloth and not a plastic.
I am thankful for cloth bc this year we have hit some hard times including me being in the process of being laid off and my husband being on workmans comp since our baby was born. Cloth helped us save money on a tight budget
Cloth diapers allow me to be a sahm
I am thankful for cloth because it is saving my family so much money!
Cloth diapers have helped us save money! As a one income family, I feel that cloth has allowed us to spend our money on other things that our 3 kids want!
I am thankful for cloth diapers because they have helped keep my son who has grade 5 kidney reflux from getting frequent infections. He is 8.5 months old and being infection free is almost unheard of with his level of reflux. The incidence of infection in cloth is so much lower and my family is extremely thankful that we can help limit the long term impact on my baby’s kidneys with cloth. 🙂
My husband started using heroin near the end of my pregnancy, behind my back, and eventually stopped bringing money home and stopped paying our bills. He left me high and dry. I had no job, I had no savings, he maxed all of my credit cards. I was helpless in so many ways, and it was completely unexpected. Luckily, I had already purchased my stash of cloth diapers. I can’t express to you how much these diapers have changed my life. I am so thankful that I chose to cloth diaper (and breastfeed), because it allowed me to still provide my son with everything he needed despite my sudden loss of stability. My son is my world, so THANK YOU, COTTON BABIES!!!!
Cloth diapers have allowed me to stay home with my little boy! For that I am forever grateful!
I was very thankful to use cloth diapers on my first baby and never worry about having to rush out to the store to get my baby’s bottom covered! I love all the options, but use the simplest system of prefolds and nylon covers. I feel like I’m making a good choice for my baby and my family and the earth. Now that baby number two is on the way, I am very thankful to get more use out of our diapers and stretch our dollars.
