A new born baby is a heavenly gift given to the parents by the god. A baby comes in this world along with heavenly delight and joy for his or her parents, relatives and neighbors. Celebration of the event of the birth of a baby is usually done by gifting the baby and parents. But it is really tough to find a gift that will be perfectly suitable for the baby. Baby Gifts are always useful in these situations.

I was putting my daughter in nursery at church and explaining to the nursery worker about my daughter’s BG. As I was explaining the diaper to her, another mom brought her daughter in and was holding a BG too! We were both so excited that someone else was using BG cloth diapers…there aren’t many of us where I live!

we get comments every time we take our little lady to the pediatrician. they nurses and doctor always love her colorful diapers and she gets lots of compliments. i’m always surprised that it seems unusual to them, i would think they would see cloth diapers more frequently. i always take advantage of the opportunity to share how much we love cloth diapering and all the advantages.

Just by having my 18-month old daughter wear them since she was born and answering questions about them to anyone who asks, we have “converted” 3 other families! Everyone just thinks they are so cute and not at all like the old-fashioned cloth diapers our parents used!

We share most often at the pool when we’re changing on the lounge chairs. My sisters still won’t convert. I think they are too lazy to do the laundry. I hate changing my niece’s disposables!

Believe it or not, I had my baby’s first photos taken in a bum genius as well as a couple of other diapers– in the hospital on Tuesday!!! We were so excited to have her first photos feature cloth diapers! Not only that, but our photographer had heard of them and I told her to look through my diaper bag– she plans to switch her baby soon, and was wondering about the different brands and styles! We had a cloth diaper out to put on our new girl FIRST THING after her birth, but sadly, she was born on Friday and had to be in special care until Tuesday, so she went 5 days in disposables! I wanted to cry! I was so glad that the first diaper WE changed on her was cloth, though! All the nurses asked about them, commented on them, touched them, wanted to know if we washed them ourselves (yes!) and so on. So much fun! I love that more people (especially labor and delivery nurses) in our hospital now know that modern cloth diapers exist!

I’ve told so many people about BumGenius and cloth diapers! I’ve gotten two friends, my cousin and sister in law to use Cloth. They have all added BG to their stash. I’ve also helped complete strangers out on their cloth diapering questions. My grandma gave my number to a customer at the Walgreens she works at when she heard her say she was interested in CDing. I’ve also helped out a friends children’s school bus driving who was expecting and needed advice had questions about CDing! 🙂

My husband and I are expecting our first baby in November! We can’t wait to start cloth diapering! I have educated both my mom and my mother-in-law, and they both are hooked as well! We have also converted some of our friends who don’t have kids yet and they joke that they are glad we are having a baby first so that we can be the “cloth diaper experts” and answer all their questions. We can’t wait for our little BumGenius baby!!

Every time I take my child to the nursery at church I have to give them a heads up about cloth diapers. They are always so interested to see that they aren’t at all like the kind our parents used with we were kids. It is great because so many of the other nursery volunteers are also moms of little ones like me so I’ve had lots of great conversations about how they work and all their benefits!

I even chatted with a lady in the Kohls bathroom about how great they are & my mom was there telling her about them and how great it is for my LOs bottom – made me feel good bc she wasn’t too sure when we started out but now 3+ months later I must’ve rubbed off on her! I’ve been cloth diapering my 6 week old (first LO) and love showing off my BG 4.0s to whoever will listen. My family and some friends thought I was losing it (even my mom who cloth diapered me) saying how hard it was going to be taking care of a new baby and having to worry about washing diapers, but after seeing the diapers on my baby I couldn’t get enough good comments! Everyone pictured plastic pants and pins. My mom even gave me some money to buy more BG’s 🙂

I love to talk about cloth diapers and how great they are for our household! I have several pregnant friends and I’ve recently talked to them at length about our diapers and how awesome they are. Recently I was at a children’s resale store where I saw they were selling a competitor’s line of cloth diapers. I talked with the manager and another customer for quite awhile on BG and how great they are, and told her she should carry BG as well!

I’ve also shared our experience with whoever will read: http://thenonsensationalist.blogspot.com/2011/07/saving-money-part-deuce.html

I have a pregnant neighbor friend who has definitely expressed interest in cloth-diapering, and I’d love to win this pack to give to her as a gift!

My husband is actually the one who tells everyone about our BG 4.0s. At a wedding last month, he was talking to a couple with a 9 week old baby girl and came over to grab our 6 month old from me to change his diaper. I was confused because he usually doesn’t just volunteer to do diaper changes but then I overheard him say, “Oh, these? Yeah, we do the cloth diaper thing. Yeah, we love them – no blowouts, leaks, or diaper rash. Plus they’re really inexpensive and totally cool looking.” He uses every opportunity to tell everyone who will listen (and a few who won’t) about how much we love our cloth diapers.

I was pretty ignorant to the whole new modern world of cloth diapers until I had a baby. I see how eco-friendly and cost effective it is. My husband and I are both college students living on a university campus. We know what it is to be on a tight budget, so that is why we chose to CD. We recommend it to all of our newly married/expecting couples! BG’s are so adorable, that sometimes she wears them as “pants” and people are always complimenting them! So glad to be a CD momma! 🙂

My pediatrician was surprised to see a cloth diaper on my daughter (flip cover + stay dry insert) when we went for her 18 month well check. He seemed intrigued and asked a few questions about it. I told him that I loved cloth diapering so much and that I only wish I had done it sooner! The nurses commented on how cute her diaper was too. I was shocked that in our middle to upper class community my ped’s office had not seen modern cloth diapers. We need to keep building awareness. I believe that there are still so many people who have no idea how easy it really is.

I was at my Pediatricians office for my baby’s appt. When I undressed her for the exam, she commented on her diaper. I told her that I loved them and she commented that she was going to try a different brand after her baby was born. At my last visit, I asked if she had stuck with that brand. She said that she had switched to BG’s and was completely happy. I feel wonderful that my doctor is so supportive of cloth and that I was able to steer her towards a wonderful diaper.

I usually use my purse as a diaper bag on the weekends. On Monday morning at work, I was going through my purse looking for something, and pulled a BG out. All of my coworkers were completely freaked out! I work with mostly guys who don’t have kids, and the few with kids were even more freaked out. “How do you clean them?! You wash your clothes in the same washing machine?! Don’t they get poopy?! How to you not STINK?!” They were being so ridiculous that I couldn’t stop laughing. BUT, I started pilates a few days later with a coworker’s wife and found out that he had told her about it. She was really interested, so I brought a diaper into show her. Now that she’s pregnant, they’re planning on cloth diapering!

A few months ago I was sitting in the lobby at church with my noisy 8 month old, when another mama that I barely knew (who had forgotten her diaper bag) asked me if I had an extra sposie she could have. I giggled, and told her why I didn’t and offered a BGOS instead. She kind of looked at me like I was from mars, but desperate as she was, she took it, and that got us to talking about CD’s, and of course I recommended BG’s (top of my list among other cottonbabies diapers…and a few weeks later, she returned my diaper, and her kiddo was wearing his own BGOS 😉

When I had just moved to Maryland, I joined a mommy group because really, I’m just NOT good at meeting people. I was a bit nervous to go to our first meetup, but one of the first women I met, we hit it off immediately when we realized both our kids (my daughter at 1.5 and her son at 2) were both wearing their BGs 🙂 We even got the whole group talking about it and maybe convinced the two PG mom’s that they should try it for the second time around 🙂

A lady at the park noticed my son’s cloth diaper and told me about her cloth diapering experience working at a daycare in the 70s. I told her how much easier it is now and showed her how it worked. She was amazed and said she wished things had been that easy when her kids were younger. My mom who had to cloth diaper me in the late 70s (b/c I was allergic to disposables) still can’t get over the Snappi!

I… might be a bit obsessed with cloth diapers, according to my husband.

My daughter has been wearing 3.0s since she was 3 days old. She’s 17mo now. Changing her diapers in the church nursery and the accompanying discussions has caused 5 babies to be switched to cloth.

Costs of cloth diapering vs disposable diapering os my favorite problem for teaching systems of equations to my Algebra students. Most dont have kids yet… but it still plants a thought! (And has converted some teen moms…)

I love family get togethers because it gives me a chance to show off my BGs (always take my artist series)! I usually put LO in a dress so the diaoer shows and so people ask what she’s wearing. I usually get asked if it’s a diaper cover and I say “nope” and pull a clean one out of the diaper bag to show them off! People seem to be fascinated and I’ve heard them say back “those aren’t what my parents used, those are cool!”
My neighbor recently folund out she was expecting and asked if I could tell her all about CDs, I can’t wait to show her the BGs, flips and ecobums!

Used BG 3.0 for my son (he is three now)…and am now using the same batch for my 3 month old. With proper care, they have really held up, although some elastic needed to be replaced on a few of them. I tired a few other cloth diapers that had cute fancy designs and they were not as good as my tried and true. Love our BGs!
I purchased six 4.0s for a friend of mine for her baby shower. She was planning on using chlorine free disposables, but I knew she would love her BGs once she gave them a try. And she did, and uses them exclusively!!!! She has also had many compliments from her moms groups and converted two of those moms.

Paying it forward, she also bought a few BGs for her sister who is pregnant now. Hooray!

    Pass it on 🙂

I just recently had lunch with a friend and she was asking how the cloth diapering was going. I told her it was easier than I thought it would be and recommended she give it a try when she has a baby. Being environmentalist we both try to reduce our impact on the environment and this is just one way to do that. BG diapers are great we use a combination of BG AIO and prefolds with BG covers.

When people ask about our baby in cloth, I am quick to whip a clean BG 4.0 out of my diaper bag to show them how it works, how really simple it is, and how good they look after months of use. Talking up the genius of a diaper sprayer is always a plus. And I always mention that I’m pretty sure we are saving a million dollars between using cloth diapers and cloth wipes in spite of the up front cost.

Funny story, I have 5 kids ages 18, 16, 14, and 12, and 5 months. My 16 yr old son randomly asked me what we were going to with our little guy’s diapers when we were done with them. I told him I wasn’t sure, why do you ask? He wanted to be sure I saved them for him to use on his kids someday 🙂

I actually don’t have to try hard to bring up the cloth diapers, but family members and friends of mine are always talking about how much my daughters pockets dipes look and go on just like disposables. I just say “yep, but they’re much cheaper!” I spent the same amount of money in the first three months of using disposables as I did to buy my daughter’s one-size seconds stash! Never turning back.

This is my third son, first cloth diapered tushy! One of my favorite things about cloth diapers is that it seems to strike a conversation when someone notices that extra little bit of fabric under a baby’s onesie. “Are you cloth diapering? That must be challenging.” …..Nope I love it! And who knew I could be a diaper snob! I am such a fan of BG diapers. I covet the Elemenals! The thing that surprises me most about cloth diapers is they have replaced my love of shoes and purses. -Becki M.

We took our Lil Midder to the public pool one day and two older women approached us to comment on how cute he was. We were just finishing up to head home for a nap so he was out of his swim diaper and I was putting on a clean diaper. One of the women noted, “Oh, is that one of those… reusable things?” I say, “Oh, a cloth diaper? YEP!” One was already a grandmother and the other was a soon-to-be grandmother and she said her daughter was planning on cloth diapering her first grandbaby! We talked about how it so smart and budget-friendly, good for the environment and better for babies. It was great to hear how cloth diapering is becoming more and more popular!

The idea that I didn’t have to use huge pins was just amazing to them. I thought it was pretty funny.

I share my love of cloth with anyone who will listen!! I am an RN in the newborn nursery so I even keep a prefold and flip cover at work so that if the opportunity arises for me to share with some new parents I go for it! Most recently my SIL adopted a newborn who came to her new home with awful diaper rash. I overnighted some prefolds and a snappi so that the babe could air out as much as possible. Hopefully the cloth love will catch on.

I chatted with her about it to see exactly what she meant, only to find out she really hated cleaning the poo off. I explained to her that since she breastfeeds that she could throw then in the wash with no precleaning necessary. Or she could buy a house to attach to the toilet. Since she has started cloth again and is very happy with them.

My SIL loves my son’s CD’s. She was excited to find out I was CD’ing thinking that if she ever has another baby she wanted to see what they were like. She lets her daughter pick out which dipe to put on him when it is their day to babysit. I caught her showing off LO’s diaper to a friend at a party a few weeks ago!

Whenever I change my baby girl’s diaper in public people often comment on her diaper. This happened recently at church. A expecting mom ask me how they worked. What was the advantages and disadvantages? I honestly could not think of a disadvantage. Cloth diapering is the best for everyone and everything. Me, My Baby and My Planet!

My baby is a bumgenius baby… but for more than just diapers. My son is/was breastfed (hated bottles) and we were going to visit my SIL’s, who lives extremely close to the store on Kennerly Road. I of course, had to stop in and pick up some items but I also stopped and breastfed him on your couches until he was happily asleep because, sadly, I felt more comfortable breastfeeding in public at your store than I did at my SIL’s. She’s has made completely different parenting choices than me and seems to be defensive in a way that puts down my choices and makes me feel inappropriate for breastfeeding (she and her husband have made comments that equated breastfeeding to exhibitionism). I have tried not to impress my opinions on her but when they mentioned about money being tight with their second child coming I mentioned that cloth diapering, even if it’s just part-time could help save money. I’m not sure if they’ve given it more thought but she has decided to go with cloth trainers for their older child. It’s a start. I’m hoping they’ll be the gateway to help them see how easy it is.

I heard about cloth diapers through a friend and now we love them. Every time we tell people (friends, family, strangers) that we use cloth diapers they give us this strange look as if they wanted to say “Really? You go through all that trouble?” We quickly realized they were referring to the old fold and pin diapers. When they hear about the new ones like BumGenius they are amazed that cloth diapering has become so easy. Many people say that we will have to remember that when we have kids. Hopefully they do and come asking questions as love to tell people about BumGenius diapers. (klasley2006@gmail.com)

I was the first of all of my friends with babies to try (and stick with) cd-ing! My mother was so excited when she heard I was going to cd but she assumed i was going to safety pin pre-folds around my baby like she did with us! I gave her a tutorial one afternoon & have been slowly building up her stash for when I go back to work full-time (she’ll be the babysitter)! She loves my BG 4.0 and tells everyone. I am trying my best to spread the word to all preggy friends they are all skeptics until they see how cute & easy they really are!! (lucygal102@yahoo.com)

I talk about cloth diapers to most people who notice my child’s diaper (and to those who do not!)

The best way I shared was when I refused one of the automatic coupons that print out after you pay at Target. It was for $5 off a pack of diapers, and I said, “No thanks.” The woman looked so surprised! She asked why I didn’t want it, and if she could have it. I told her that it wasn’t a good savings to buy diapers for me, no matter the coupon, because I use cloth diapers. She was curious because she related she was poor. I didn’t have time to tell her ALL the facts, but I wrote down the words econobum and cotton babies on the coupon and told her to Google them! I also gave her my email if she needed more info.

My husband had a soldier whose wife was quite young. They didn’t have a lot of money but they wanted a large family. She noticed when she was holding my then infant daughter had a pretty cool colored diaper on but she was a little incredulous when I told her it was a cloth diaper. Like a lot of people, she thought that cloth diapers meant pins, plastic pants, and extreme bulkiness.

As we spent time together, she could see that using BGs weren’t the horrifying ordeal that some people think cloth diapering is. No toilet dunking, no complicated folding, no recoiling in horror if you have to push a needle through many layers of cloth and you think you accidentally hit your sweet little one’s belly.

I loaned her a few diapers at first do she could get a feel for it, investment free. Being military, we don’t make a lot of money and many times, even with hard work, there is little chance for advancement if your MOS (shorthand for the type of career you have in the service) has reached it’s number of people needed in that field.

She is now just about to put her 3rd (due any day now) baby in cloth diapers. There are a mix in her stash I am sure but much like with us, BGs are our go to diaper.

Thanks for having this contest:) With my other kids we’ve tried other diapers but with this baby (who we never thought we’d be blessed with) we are cutting to the chase and just filling his diaper stash with BGs:)

I’m always telling parents and parents to be how convenient(no running out in middle of the night bc you ran out of disposables), earth, and $$ saving they are… Just the other week I was at a baby massage class and another mom pulled out a bum genius 4.0 to change her daughter and I gave her the thumbs up as I showed her the 4.0 my son was wearing. We then discussed them as others in the class inquired about them; with one mom saying she heard they could leak. I said no, no more than disposables and another mom said she has leaks with her disposables soo… Some of us are getting together for a mommy group I hope to convert a few to cloth!

She would always tell me, “don’t expect to win me over” and ask whenever I saw her, “so, are you still cloth diapering?” One day I asked her if she had ever seen a modern cloth diaper. I then showed her a bumgenius and how easy it was to change my son. She was blown away, then became instantly interested in how much I was saving. Like a previous commenter said “when am I not telling people about bumgenius.” My favorite time was when I was at the grocery store and a young obviously very pregnant couple were staring very perplexed at diaper rash cream. The soon-to-be new daddy came over to me with three ointments in his hands. He said “my sister-in-law says we need this one, my mother-in-law says we need this one and my mother says this one is the best. What one do you use?” My daughter was 3 months old gurgling happily in her carseat and I said I don’t need diaper rash cream because I cloth diaper she hasn’t had a rash yet. Then the questions about daycare, laundry, and costs came. I love this part because the diapers always just sell themselves! He put the creams back on the shelf and left with the website address sent to him via text message.

I knew that I wanted to use cloth diapers before I ever got pregnant. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer 22 weeks into my pregnancy, I was afraid my love for cloth diapering would probably go out the window. I knew I would be facing 12 weekly chemo treatments with a newborn at home and I really feared that I wouldn’t have the energy for cloth. I was so surprised at my baby shower when I received a huge gift bag full of Bum Genius supplies to get me started – the sprayer, diaper and bottom sprays, cloth wipes, and even a couple of the 4.0’s. I was excited because I knew it would give me the opportunity to give them a try without spending a lot of money and taking the risk that I wouldn’t feel like using them during chemo. My son is now 6 weeks old and I am happy to say that he is a 100% Bum Genius baby! I have found that cloth diapering is so easy and my husband and I both absolutely love it. I have a friend due in about a month who has been contemplating cloth for a while. She has referred to me with all of her questions about getting started and still has several concerns/reservations. I’m sitting here, facing my 4th chemo treatment tomorrow, and I am managing cloth with ease. That is my selling point to everyone now. If a brand new mom undergoing weekly chemo can do cloth, anyone can! It really is that simple thanks to Bum Genius!

When interviewing for a daycare provider for my daughter, I asked if they are open to cloth diapers. I always get scrunched up faces and the “health code” run around until I met the provider we went with. She said she cloth diapered her own kids but wasn’t willing to do pins anymore. I pulled out my BG one size and a wet bag and told her just how easy it was. She was amazed how far cloth has come and was open to it. We were able to continue cloth while she was in daycare…a rare find around here.

My husband and I had our first baby this past April, but I already knew I wanted to cloth diaper long before our DS’s due date. I remember sitting at my parent’s house shortly after we told them that I was pregnant. For some reason the topic of cloth diapering came up, and my parents told me they cloth diapered all five of us girls (back when all they had were prefolds, flats, safety pins, and plastic pants). I admired them…especially when they told me they would rinse the poopy diapers by swirling them in the toilet. I almost decided that night that I would NEVER CD my kids…but I decided to research my options on the internet because the money saving aspect of CDing really appealed to me. I couldn’t believe how much CDs had evolved since my parents did it. I started to get really excited the idea of CDing. So, I posted a status on facebook stating that I was thinking of cloth diapering. I couldn’t believe the amount of negative reactions that I received! I was slightly discouraged, but still determined to do it. I bought Best Bottoms and BumGenius to begin my stash, and once my son was born and we could actually start using them, I fell in love with my BumGenius 4.0’s! They are literally my FAVORITE diaper! Great for home-use…travelling…overnight! LOVE!!
Anyhow, about a month or two after DS was born, I got a message from one of my friends that had discouraged me about CDing. She said she was actually considering it, and she needed advice. I told her all about the AWESOMENESS that is BumGenius 4.0. I have also been able to share my cloth diapering success with other soon-to-be/new moms!

When we were discussing different baby items that she would need, she mentioned having to buy tons of diapers of all different sizes because they wouldn’t know what age they were getting. I told her about one-size diapers such as the BumGenius 4.0 and she said, “They make adjustable diapers?! You mean I would only have to buy diapers once?!” Yep, and I told her all about them! And I’m pretty sure they are going to do them now! Score!

I remember one of the first times I changed my son’s cloth diaper at my in-law’s house and they were having lots of family over that day. My mother-in-law noticed the diaper and started raving about how cool they were and how different they were from the flats and prefolds and pins she had used on her kids. Every time another woman in the family arrived, she had to show off my son’s “cool cloth diaper.” Many in the family had used the old method, like her, or had no idea this “new” kind of cloth diaper existed. My husband loves them so much he will only grab something else if all of our BGs are gone, and even then he comes to ask me if there are any clean before he’ll finish the job. I have several friends who cloth diaper, and many who know nothing about it – I actually took several from my stash to our small group Bible study last week to educate a friend on cloth diapers so she would know what to look for and buy in a good CD – of course, I ranted and raved about my 4.0s and Elementals (and the current sale – such a great deal!), and her comment was, “Wow, they are so cute and look SO EASY!” (jcowin@gmail.com)

I didn’t know how much I would love cloth until some online friends suggested I give them a try. My son was already about 3 months old and leaking through disposables left and right. We ordered a pack of various types and were hooked!!! Even hubby. My favorite to use at night are my BumGenius dipes! With my new LO (eventually LOL) I hope to CD from the very start.

I was checking out behind a lady at the grocery store and noticed her baby had a flip diaper cover on so I asked her about it and she had only tried flip covers and organic inserts, she had no idea what an AIO or pocket was. I invited her to join the local cloth diapering group I started and gave her my name/phone number/blog address so we could talk more!

Our most recent sharing was at the doctor’s office. We had a dr we don’t usually see and as soon as she saw the BumGenius she asked how we liked it. I went on and on telling her all of the benefits (easy, no diaper rash, no runs to the store for more diapers, no trash going to the landfill, etc) and I shared the Cotton Babies website with her. I’m sure her grandbabies will be sporting BG’s before you know it! 🙂

I am a high school teacher and while pregnant my students would ask me all sorts of questions about pregnancy and my plans as a mother. They know I am a vegetarian, Eco friendly type person and had many questions about how I plan to handle being an Eco-mom. Of course one student asked me if I plan to use cloth diapers, and of course I do. Some students were so interested in what these Bumgenius diapers looked like and how they functioned that they insisted I bring a few in for show and tell. Who knew that baby diapers would be so interesting to high school kids, boys included. A few weeks later at parent-teacher meetings a few of the moms also asked my about the cloth diapers and said that their student thought they were so neat that they mentioned them at home, this is how the moms learned of these cool new cloth diapers. So sweet of my kids to care about me and my new babies diapering needs : )

He got really excited and couldn’t wait to show his wife who was outside on the patio. She Unfortunetly didn’t seem very into the idea she was polite but uninterested. When I saw their little ones again several months later they were stilling disposables. Ya can’t win em all! Starrgazer0138@yahoo.com

I was at a rehearsal dinner and changing my youngest when a pregnant bridesmaid came up to me and asked about them. We ended up talking for about 2 hours and she was convinced that no only were cloth diapers the way to go, but that she wanted to go with the BG’s. I told her “you won’t regret it they are FANTASTIC and I love not having to budget for diapers or wipes on a monthly basis.”

My husband accidentally forgot to put a disposable on my daughter before taking her to daycare. My babysitter called and said “Your husband brought your daughter today in a swim diaper, what would you like me to do with it.” This was a great opportunity for me to explain these were her cloth diapers. She was shocked when I explained she could just throw them in a bag and send it home. She assumed, when I asked about cloth diapering, she would be having to rinse them out. I haven’t quite convinced her yet to change her policy on cloth diapers, but I think I definitely took a step in that direction.

I love telling friends and family about cloth diapers. My husbands aunt was just at our house and saw our diapers drying on their rack. She asked what they were, when I told her what they were she was shocked. Her response was “they didn’t make them like that when my girls were little”. Hopefully when she has grandchildren she will share the cloth diaper experience with them.

When I was a MOPS coordinator, I was able to actually have Cotton Babies staff members speak to our group about cloth diapers and later I hosted a cloth diapering “class” for moms who were interested! It was a ton of fun and I see lots of those babies in cloth today! My favorite times sharing are the random ones, though. Most recently, I shared with a dad who works at my salon about cloth diapers. He had some questions when he over heard my stylist and I talking about them. A couple of months later, I went back and I met his daughter….and she was wearing cloth!!!! So cool! I even brought in a few to show that, when washed properly, after a year of use — there were no stains or smells.

While shopping with my son and a friend at a huge outlet mall in my area I had to give my son a change. The bathrooms here are PACKED and there is always a line for the changing table. As I was waiting in line to change my son my friends asked me, “Isn’t it going to take forever to change him since he’s in a cloth diaper?” I got a couple rude gasps and sighs from the impatient mothers behind me but I simply said, “No it will probably take me less time.” This spark interest from the mother ahead of me and she wanted to know more – I filled her in on everything I could think of and made sure to fill her in about our lack of diaper rash and from that she was sold as her daughter had extremely bad diaper rash nearly constantly. More people gained interest and when it was my turn to change my little guy we had an audience of 10 – 15 people who were all interested in the diapers. I told everyone if they’re interested in cloth diapers to check out cottonbabies.com as that’s where I’ve gotten all my dipes. My son and I were quite a spectacle, we’re just hoping it made some sposie mom’s into cloth moms!

I have 2 boys in cloth diapers. My BG’s are my absolute favorites. We go through about 25 diapers a day… I have 7 sisters all of which had never even considered cloth. They thought all were pins and flats. (not that there is anything wrong with that route either) They were amazed that BumGenius made it as easy and so much cuter than the disposables! They all changed my kids and said they would be fighting over my stash when they had their own kiddos in addition to whatever else they would be buying from BG. Three asked if their friends could see some of my diapers and ask some questions because they never though cloth would be so easy. I love my BG’s and talked them up, demonstrated how easy they are to wash, that they are very durable, how to hang them and even sun bleaching! We are an eclectic bunch and come from many areas half way around they world. Thank you so Much for making diapers that can keep us close and talking a half a world away!

I changed my baby in front of them and she LOVED the cloth diapers I was using and asked tons of question. Fast forward to a year later and her new baby boy is here and wearing our stash of bum genius XS diapers which I’ve let her borrow. I bravely took my two kiddos to the big city on the train last week. I was in the middle of potty training my two-year-old, so I was happy to find a restroom on the train. However, it was not equipped with a changing station. So I pulled the ol’ recline-the-stroller-as-far-as-it-will-go trick to change my son’s diaper. The train engineer noticed my cloth diaper and excitedly exclaimed, “You use cloth diapers?! *I* use cloth diapers!” And we got to talking about all the ways cloth diapering has affected other areas of our life. She was the one and only responder and I totally converted her to CDing two kids full time! She just emailed me and told me how much she is loving it. Also, my sister is due in 2 months and she loves my sons diapers so much that she bought a NB stash of 3.0s from the seconds sale.

I love to tell people about the money I save using cloth diapers and also about the simplicity of it. I had been intimidated by the imagined mess, added laundry loads, and learning CD lingo, but the mess is no more than with disposables, the laundry is a piece of cake, and the lingo just takes a little research and some hands-on experience to figure out what works for you. I share this with other women who are on the verge of having babies that may have the same type of reservations I had initially, and I love to add CD-ing to a conversation! (angelamharold@yahoo.com)

I tell anyone who looks remotely interested about CD, particularly my BGs. My former babysitter was converted, my sister just started CDing with her first & one of my BFFs is coming to the “dark side” with her second. But, my most favorite recent story is when we moved across the country about a month ago there was a 20-something, recently married male technician who came to unhook our washer & dryer before the movers came. I was just taking out the last load of diapers as he arrived. He asked with surprise, “Are those diapers?” and we got into a 20 minute conversation about them. He was just so thrilled that there were options besides disposables…and wasn’t even a parent yet! Hopefully the conversation sticks & when he & his wife get their BFP they’ll start CD shopping!

I have not tried bumGenius yet, but I recently started making cloth diapers for my baby instead of using disposable. I read a bunch of blogs and watched some tutorials on youtube, then started creating my own cloth diapers. I am currently trying pocket diapers and using upcycled fleece blankets and flannel sheets for the linings and soakers. Almost every mom I have talked to about it thinks it’s a great idea and they all want lessons. I’d love to try one of the bumGenius diapers because they get such good reviews and look like they are really well made!

Actually, just yesterday my coworker was telling me that she never would have considered cloth diapers if it weren’t for me telling her how easy it is (and a cost-saver, too!). Now she’s registered for BumGenius 4.0s for her baby due in October.

And this week I’ve been e-mailing back and forth with my cousin (due in December) about the virtues of cloth diapering: the diaper service route, the products, detergents, and of course that BG4.0s are our faves.

My friend is a cloth diaperer now because of me. She also went natural for childbirth after hearing about my experience, but I think she just likes to copy me 🙂

I’m pretty sure that my son is the first baby (now toddler) at his daycare to be CDed, and once we showed them how it works they’ve been very supportive – they even do cloth wipes now!

For our daughters 1st year, we did a a program at a photo place in the mall, that each month we had her picture taken. And every month one of the “outfits” she would wear would be a bumGenius diaper. People always stopped to comment on how cute she & her diaper were, and then I would engage at least one person each time, in conversation about cloth diapering.
I ended up seeing one of the moms a few months later, and lo and behold, her son had on a ribbit diaper in his pics!!!

My best friend is having a baby in January & I dont think would have ever considered cd’ing. I have showed her our routine & how cute! & colorful! bumgenius diapers are & she is stocking up for her babe! Even if I had to speak to the girly/accessory-loving part of her to convince her, I’m happy!

I just started cloth diapering but I’ve been raving about them to all my friends and family! I’m one of the first of my friends to have a baby, and they have all told me that I’m their ‘guinea pig’ of sorts–basically, if I like them, they’re willing to try them! Our BG 4.0s are hands down are favorite diaper, and these are the first I’ll mention in any cloth diaper conversation! I’m visiting a girlfriend who just had a baby this weekend and planning to take a couple to show her. 🙂 martyandjael [at] gmail [dot] com

I have been responsible for converting quite a few people to cloth diapers. My daughter has plenty of diapers, probably around the 60 mark. I know that seems excessive. But the blessing to having such a large stash is that I can help new-to-CD moms start their stash. By giving them 5-6 diapers, they have the chance to fall in love with cloth before they start making the investment. And I ALWAYS give a BumGenius to new CDing moms. I tell them, “This is my favorite diaper, and I know you will love it, too.” And they always do. So then I just “have” to get new BGs to replace the ones I give away, right? 😉

People have told me what a “saint” I am for cding I’m able to tell people how easy/healthy they are! (Jbklebes@Gmail.com)

I have told so many people about cloth diapers… My favorite though was probably at a family get together though.. we were all sitting around and my little one needed a new diaper and someone else smelled it. They said they would be happy to change it and I told them we used cloth and I got this awful look.. Then we discussed how much they had changed.. She said no way they are still those plastic pants with pins.. I showed her the fuzzibunz we use and she was blown away.. I think I sold both of her daughters on using cloth!!!

I was at my 6 week postpartum checkup and changing my baby when my midwife entered and saw her first glimpse of a modern cloth diaper: a colorful BumGenius. Needless to say she was amazed 😀 I have converted 4 friends to cloth and Bumgenius is always my first suggestion as it was my first cloth diaper 🙂

I share with everyone I can! At church, with friends and even on facebook! Since my son wears CDs at church, people are always asking about them… and I have a few friends that have started cloth diapering since my son was born too after seeing how easy they are (they were encouraged by me and at least one other friend who CDs, yea!)…

I tell my sister every day!!!! She is pregnant with her first and I am trying to convert her to cloth! When she comes up in September for her wedding I plan on taking her and her fiance to our local cloth diaper store, so she can have a mini class on cloth. I am so excited 🙂

Also I try to leave my kiddo in just his diaper and shirt (onesie), so people will ask about our diapers! I love to tell people about the benefits of cloth!

Oh my gosh, when am I not telling someone about BG’s? Every time one of my coworkers gets pregnant I tell them about how great cloth diapers are, and how they really need the bumGenius 4.0 one-size diapers (snaps, natch!). I get lots of questions every time I wear my change 3 things shirt. One of my friends is already convinced she’s getting BG’s when she has her first child, and my mother is constantly going on about how great they are and telling everyone about them too! I’m changing jobs soon to a workplace with an environmentally friendly agenda (they have a green building, Green Team, etc.), and I can’t wait to see how I can advocate for cloth diapers there!

I have shared our love for cloth so many times since our baby boy was born last June. I have encouraged several of my mom friends to try it, and they are surprised that they definitely are not “our grandma’s cloth diapers.” I had our son’s portrait taken in just a cloth diaper, and we use them pretty much everywhere – church, the nursery at my weekly Bible study, even for sitters. I loved showing them to the older ladies at church when he was first born, they all said “we definitely didn’t have diapers like this when our kids were babies!” Plus, when I tell people all the money we’re saving – it really makes them think!

I have a friend who is expecting her third child VERY shortly and saw that I had switched to cloth diapers on Facebook. Since I have switched, I’ve been very forthcoming about how much I like them and have taken many pictures of my daughter wearing them and the diapers on the line (they’re so pretty!). She started asking me questions and I told her how easy it is and how she could save money and she bought some diapers online shortly after. Now they are all prepped and washed and waiting for the baby!

I somehow attracted the attention and awe of all of the mothers, grandmothers, and aunts in the room and answered lots of questions about cloth diapering. My friend’s husband walked in about a half hour later and said “that was quite the presentation you just gave…I’m convinced”

Bg’s are repeatedly the diapers I recommend to interested friends and family. One story inparticular is when my cousin had tried cloth with her son and gave up hope that it would work for them. I urged her to try bg’s and since she did she hasn’t been happier!! Thanks for making such great, durable, long lasting products!

I was shopping, when I asked a saleslady if there was someplace I could change my daughter. She was very kind and gave me a great little place to change her and then gave me a plastic bag saying, “you can just leave the diaper in the bag, and I will get rid of it”. Haha, I had to explain I couldn’t dare leave my favorite BG diaper. She started asking loads of questions since she had a little one . . . another possible convert!

My Mom and my mother-in-law had never seen the Modern cloth diapers before. At first they both seamed to kind of try to discourage me from cloth diapers because they both thought it was a pain to cloth diaper. Until I showed them my cloth diapers and know they are both like: ‘that is amazing’, ‘they never had anything like that when I was cloth diapering’, and ‘that’s the way I would diaper’! Woohoo now I got my mothers in on it with me! 😀 Thanks for the giveaway! 🙂

I am 37 weeks pregnant with my first, so I have my cloth diapers bought but I have not actually used them yet. However, I have shared my excitement and decision with many friends and relatives who are shocked when I tell them I’m going to use cloth diapers. I actually now carry one with me in the car so I can show it to people who are imagining the “old school” form of cloth diapers. I recently shared a cloth diaper at my baby shower!

This happened just yesterday actually. I am currently studying sonography. Yesterday I was at my clinical site scanning a pregnant woman and she asked me which diapers I prefer. I was very happy to tell her that I use cloth diapers. I was waiting for the typical face of disgust but instead she was VERY interested. She grilled me during the whole scan about them and to take care of them. It was great (other than I couldn’t really concentrate…LOL). I told her to check out your site soon to take advantage of your buy 5 get one free deal.

I have told many people about our love of BG, and have converted three of my girlfriends to switch, bacause we’re all trying to watch pennies. I’ve even non-chalantly mentioned it on Facebook: It’s a sunny day! Time to hang the diapers outside. (Just to see what people thought or if someone asked what I was talking about.)

Jen, I think your next mission is to covert the new grandmas out there. They can’t believe how easy it can be, no pins, no soaking. They are your next target market. 🙂

I was at Safeway picking up a loaf of bread, when a bakery employer starting asking me how old my baby was. I noticed she was pregnant, and asked her when she was due. She noticed my daughters cloth diaper, as she wasn’t sitting very lady like in her dress, and asked what it was. I told her it’s a cloth diaper and pulled a couple out of the diaper bag to show her how cute and simple they are now. She was astounded! She went and got a pen and paper and had me write some brands and websites down for her so she could get some. I love when I convert someone to cloth!
