Looking for a beautiful, yet practical, baby gift? This week at Cotton Babies, some exciting new styles of our popular Robeez soft-soled baby shoes. Cotton Babies staff love the way Robeez cling to feet with the elasticized ankle band and are easy to wash by hand or in a machine.   Connie, grandmother and a Cotton Babies customer, said:   I have used Robeez shoes on both my grandsons and they are the best. They are easy to put on and always stay on. They are soft and comfy… The flexible sole is nice for prewalkers. Keep little feet warm

Jenn’s Thoughts: Pooping Day?
January 6, 2011 5:14 pm | by

Do we have any poop experts who read this blog? If so, I need your help.   We have pooping day in our house. It’s usually a day that we pick Elsie up from the babysitter and find out that she productively filled four diapers that day. Every single child will go at least once, maybe twice, and almost always during dinner. Sometimes, Jimmy and I will have a moment of shared hilarity when the last child finally yells for help wiping their bottom. Other times, like today, it’s not so funny. I’m ready to call the pediatrician and ask

I Failed Cloth Diapering
January 5, 2011 12:09 pm | by

Confession time: I failed cloth diapering… at least my first attempt that is. When my twins were newborns, money was tight, really tight. During an online search, I was introduced to the idea of cloth diapering. Hours of internet research later, I knew this was what was going to save my family’s budget. I shared with my husband, who was indifferent to the idea, but definitely wasn’t willing to invest the hundreds of dollars required for start up. I devised a brilliant idea to eBay off some extra stuff around the house to make enough to buy a few start

Amber Teething Necklaces

Happy 2011 from the Cotton Babies team! New year inspires fresh beginnings and lots of promise. Every year our Cotton Babies team spends the first work day of the new year the same way, with inventory day. We spent the day counting, cleaning and organizing the warehouse to give a fresh start to the new year.   The new year also brings thought of the much debated New Year’s resolution. Do you make resolutions? What are you hoping to change this year? Are you working on changing old habits or establishing new better habits? Yesterday, Jenn shared this in the

The Top 10 Cloth Diaper Industry Events of 2010 Analysis and opinion by Jennifer L. Labit, owner of Cotton Babies, Inc. Creator of bumGenius, Flip & Econobum.     10. For several years, the cloth diaper market has been primarily work at home mom based. Throughout the year, a number of retailers and several manufacturers (including Thirsties) were sold to growth-minded investors. This is a continuing trend from 2009 perhaps showing that we are entering a new phase for the product category.   9. In late October, gDiapers entered the European market.   8. In early October, we launched the

Receiving Graciously
December 22, 2010 6:09 am | by

I have a bit of a confession to make here, I haven’t always been the most gracious person when presented with a gift. There is one time in particular that sticks out in my mind. Five or six years ago during the holiday season, my family received an unexpected knock at our door. It was about a week before Thanksgiving and a local church was distributing holiday meals to families “in need”.   My memory is fuzzy, it was either the year we had three boys under the age of two, or the year all our sons were less than
