Engaging toys for toddlers that are quiet, too!

Finding quiet toys that keep your child entertained and engaged are hard to find. Sure, it’s easy for kids to zonk out in front of the TV or video game, but it’s nice to have a toy that allows them to actively engage their imagination. Plus, it’s great if it can hold their attention longer than 5 minutes. Here are a few of my favorite quiet toys for my toddlers. They go back to these toys again and again. And one of my favorite features? They’re quiet! Some of these are quiet and portable enough to take to restaurants, church,

The Epic Struggle of Laundry

Raise your hand if you are constantly falling behind on laundry. My hand is way up in the air! Even pre-kids, I had a hard time keeping up with laundry. Now, I am the main washer of clothes for my family of 4 plus pets. It’s amazing how much clothing tiny humans seem to dirty! Add cloth diaper laundry, and it’s like the mail. It just keeps coming and will never be done. Tips for Keeping Up with Laundry Make a Plan When I am getting ready, I can easily go through multiple outfits until I find something worthy of

Back to school blues

Back to Scool Blues My kids still have a few years until they start kindergarten, but last night at daycare we had a graduation party for the kids who are heading off to kindergarten. Back to school season turns the emotional ante way up. The kids we were celebrating were not mine, and truthfully, I barely know them other than the fact that they were in my daughter’s class. There was a sweet ceremony

Fill your summer with FUN! Make your own ABC checklist of activities to do with your kids.

Are you trying to make the most out of your summer with your kids? Do you find yourself stuck in a slump, constantly doing the same activities? A friend of mine posted her ABCs of summer list. Babies at Work: Retail Store Edition
July 11, 2018 8:03 am | by

One of the unique benefits of working at Cotton Babies is that we welcome babies at work. You’ve all seen the blog from the lovely Julia about bringing her son, Tommy, to work with her at the corporate offices for Cotton Babies. (If you haven’t, read it here and the update here…) There’s a whole other side to bringing babies to work that differs from the office spaces that are Cotton Babies: the retail store. I was lucky enough to be able to quit my full-time job to work part-time, and, added bonus, bring my little one to work with me!

Summer travel season is upon us! In a few short months, my husband and I will be packing up our 3-year-old and 1-year-old to go to Florida. It’s our first real trip as a family of 4, and I am sooooo excited to be hitting the beach. Here’s everything I plan on doing to have a successful trip to the beach! Sunscreen This is probably obvious, but I’d

Are you a crunchy mom?

“Crunchy moms” are all about natural living. You might have a little bit of “crunch” in your parenting style if you do any of the following things. A lot of crunchy traits are things other moms mainstream moms might roll their eyes at. And for the record – that’s a-okay! Every mom makes different choices and we respect them all as long as baby is safe. You do you and what works for your family. You Might Be Crunchy If… Cloth Diapers Caring about the environment is considered crunchy to some. Of course, at Cotton Babies, we think families who

Find your tribe in a

I’ve been watching a lot of “Friends” on Netflix lately. It reminds me how important it is to find that group of people that help you get through life’s ups and downs. If you’re reading this, you almost certainly know that being a parent is not easy. Stay-at-home-mom life is a blessing, but can also be very lonely at times. Of course, you have some of the sweetest and most rewarding moments you’ve ever experienced, but it can also be physically and emotionally exhausting. What I’ve realized is that finding another group of moms (or dads!) has been just what
