Gardening With Toddlers
April 3, 2013 4:36 pm | by

It’s already warmed up enough here to start re-planting our garden. It wasn’t much of a success last year, but that doesn’t stop us from trying again! It’s been really fun to get outside with my kids now that they are both mobile toddlers who don’t need help walking. Their favorite activity when we’re outside is to watch what I’m doing and “help”. Fortunately, gardening is something that toddlers or preschoolers can participate in and even learn a little! Here’s how they helped me plant our garden and flowers: SeedsThe kids had a lot of fun looking at seed packets

It’s currently available in bumGenius Freetime and bumGenius 4.0 cloth diapers with snap closures. You can find this

Tuesday Giveaway: Spring Break Freetime
March 26, 2013 4:45 pm | by

Spring is a fantastic time of year. After spending weeks and months trapped indoors with energetic little ones, we finally get enough warmth and sunshine to spend a few minutes outdoors several days a week. It’s like a miniature vacation! Spring break makes it even more fun! Everyone is home and we are able to enjoy fun family activities during the day, when usually some are away at school. We enjoy crafting, playing outdoors, making special snacks and meals and just hanging out together. Housework gets done, but it’s not the priority it usually is. Spring break reminds me how

aden + anais Adult Blanket
March 22, 2013 2:30 pm | by

If you’ve been following our blog for any real amount of time, you already know how much I enjoy aden + anais products. I own a set of Bamboo Muslin Wraps that are exclusively mine that I wear as scarves and use when traveling. A big jar of mum + bub Soothing Ointment sits on my bedside table. The B-Jeweled Muslin Wraps are the only thing that makes me smile when found scattered on my floor by the children. So take the following review with a grain (or whole shaker full) of salt. For a long time I’ve joked around

Now that the weather is warming up for most of us, you’ll notice there are a lot more opportunities to get outside and have some fun with your kids at organized events such as farmers markets, music festivals, art festivals, and other local or civic events. We are particularly blessed to live in a large urban area that offers a ton of family friendly activities. One of our favorite activities is a nearby art festival, which we can walk to from our house. Over the past few years, we’ve taken our children as babies and toddlers to various events and

Spring Forward
March 6, 2013 4:00 pm | by

Daylight Savings Time begins this weekend. So at 2 a.m. Sunday morning, we all get to “spring forward” an hour! If you’re a sleep deprived parent like me, you might not be too thrilled about losing another hour of sleep. I used to love daylight savings time before I had children. Sure, I’d lose an hour on a single day, but I enjoyed having more sunshine after work each day. I also loved that daylight savings time was one of the first signs of spring. When I had children, that changed. I quickly learned that children have a difficult time
